The Gerber Strongarm is definitely the knife to get. I have this nice and not only does it have great Edge retention, looks, feel, and it is 100% fully functional and can take a beating from a freight train. I totally recommend this knife, and would entrust my life with it.
Ive had the predecessor of this knife for over 15 years and have used it heavily. My absolute favourite workhorse knife for both my local camping trips and long hauls 👍🏼 if these newer knives are anything like the old ones.. definitely an awesome awesome awesome knife.
I think I found another mounting option. If you remove all bits from the sheath and slip the it inside the waistband of your trousers with the smooth side towards you. The molle "gaps" in the back grip the sheath to your waistband and giving you a nice concealed carry.
I found the most discrete place yet to put the sheaf. I managed to get up my ass really uncomfortable at first but you get use to it and now I can simply slide my strong arm i to my ass crack and it really is impossible to know it is there.
I was hoping to see a lot more on carrying it horizontally, how it looks horizontally, how far it protrudes, if it over obvious on “printing” but I just had to pause at the exact right moments to get an idea but overall great video. 👍🏻
I like this knife a lot, I ran across another UA-camr who makes a kydex replacement piece that negates the need for the webbing attachment, looks to be a worth while investment to make a great knife system even better, sub your channel looking forward to seeing more thanks for your perspective.
things in motion would be momentum right? not leverage? the knife is what it is nice commentary and introduction to the knife. if you still have it any thoughts to a break test? if you still like the knife ill replace it.
O have this knife along with the Prodigy and they are both excellent knifes but my favorite is hands down the Prodigy. Basically the same other then the Prodigy comes with a thigh rig type setup along with the mollee sheath but both great knives....
Best knife ever! For digging out prairie dogs and such.If you chop wood like this with it, it won't be able to cut shit after that.I know because I have it. This is just a pry bar with a cutting edge.
luis gustavo zeas zeledon you idiots do know that blades made for chopping wood are intentionally dull right? You must know nothing about blades because if you use the strongest knives to chop wood when they're not made to it'll dull out the blade
I bought this same knife to go hog hunting in Texas, I only took the knife and a ball peen hammer, I ended up jumping out and trying to stick me a pig but it trampled me and broke my left knee and left arm. I screamed my head off for help but it just attracted more pigs and they tried to eat me alive. I stabbed one pig over 16 times and it finally ran away, after it bit a chunk out of my taint area. Them pigs bit me like 100 times and broke 6 of my bones and crushed my left ball in to paste.
man you need to be a soldier and have special forces mentality when you do shit like that or you end up telling tales like that damn big dawg! Get you some spears next time!

Watch my video and you can follow along to see the different options on putting the sheath together. I have this knife on a tactical vest right now and it works great!
Why would you trust your knife hanging off of your belt secured by 1 button snap? If you balance it on top of your head at least you'll know when it falls off.
Years ago it could be found on Amazon and Ebay for around $43 shipped, but with everything going on you're lucky to even find one this year. Amazon has some still in stock: amzn.to/2YJVT0n
Gear Know-How ok with that in mind, regarding your comment at the beginning how you would say not to pay more than $45-$50 for the knife, would you still recommend this knife at the current market price? If not do you recommend and alternate? Thanks be well
I like Gerber products. I have an old "bolt action" knife I bought in the summer of '85 (on my long M/C trip from SoCal to my old home in CO) and with the exception of the little caps covering the blade pivot falling out (and sadly getting lost), which doesn't affect function, it's held up great, though the sheath is coming apart a little at one seam. It needs a good sharpening, better than what I can do, but it's been a great knife over the years, and I think I might pick up a serrated Strong Arm in black.
Exactly what I was thinking. He’s not the first guy I’ve got annoyed at for being a jerky turkey 🦃 but I kind of realised he just got his brand new knife and he probably new to videos and a bit of an over excited whipper snapper 🤣🤣🤣 I hate to say it but I’m afraid he got the fake Chinese version. It’s a really good fake though and I don’t get why they would make such a great fake when it’s practically as good as the real thing. Where’s the profit In that? But it’s not about profit it’s about overtaking Gerber and downing our companies by over saturating their market with there fakes. How many lost sales has Gerber suffered to the amount of fakes China is punting?
You can get the Strongarm with serrations too. You can also get it in all black which is what I perfer. I don't live in the desert so I don't need the brown.
I ordered one from anaconda $119. Picked it up and it was the Camp version- returned. Went to BCF, they called Gerber, ordered the coyote and price matched $119.
Have one with a near identical box, snaps on correct side, but serial number has 9 characters, mix of numbers and letters. Think it's only suppose to have 5 numbers

Been eyeing one of these for awhile. Nice review.
This knife has been "hard to find" around here for at least 3 years but I just was able to finally get one at Walmart for $50.00.
It’s 100 bucks now
"Field Test" - *Smacks some wood*

My dad got this for me for Christmas
Cool

Proceeds to stab himself in the @55 😅
How does the finish on the blade hold up?
Mines been great over the years camping with it
50 bucks for a Gerber Strongarm. Ah yes the good old days.

you should make an 8-year update video on this lol (if you still have it)
Wish there was an olive green option.

Link me somewhere you can get this for $45

Love the knife. Hate the sheath. I’d have been happy with a simple taco style kydex sheath with a metal clip like the ones Tops uses
What don’t you like about it?
@@DareBearGaming96 too much stuff. I like a simple sheath like the Cold Steel SRK has or a simple taco style kydex sheath

I’ve kicked my butt many times, it got down to $42 on Amazon and I didn’t buy it. Now it is up to $88

Even though this knife is considered an all around knife its still not meant for chopping trees. lol
Adam Rose Well... when you need to cut trigs or bore a hole in a log to start a fire, it comes in handy.
