Gmod creators tend to fill the backgrounds with the most random things of varying sizes
TF2came out in the golden age of YTP.
Over the years we've moved from GMod to SFM and seen improvements to graphical resolution, FPS and animation quality.
But at the end of the day, we're still here for the shitposts with spliced audio.
Actually, there ARE machinima that are serious. Try looking up "Tribute", "Til Death Do Us Part", and "The Scratched Universe"

TF2 swings wider on the "serious to stupid" scale than a bipolar teenager. And we love it for that.

It's gonna be great.
So basically: someone have a bright idea and make sentry robot girls.
At first it was just little drawning with mini sentry that looks like little girl in a cloak.
She was first.
Later within one week someone made his own version as 3D model.
And that where it all began.
People start making memes about them and start creating their own robot girls.
Dispenser, sentries, teleporters. It even come into other games(there lethal company and Portal sentries)
like Dispenelpe, the Telporter Twins, and Senthia, right?

In all seriousness- Majority of the insanity the TF2 community has with animation stuff- has existed well before the likes of Tiktok or any of that stuff.
So majority isn't just because adhd- it's mostly just cause it's funny and it's what lots of people really enjoy- Plus given the cartoonish look and nature of TF2 despite the guns and blood and whatnot- makes it even more hilarious and almost in a way akin to like the old cartoons and whatnot. (I'd honestly argue as well that TF2 animations are more funny and enjoyable for most people of nearly any age than modern "child safe" cartoons...)
Oh and on a related note regarding the models Alxium uses- I forget who made them exactly- but they are more up to date and expressive versions of the TF2 characters with facial morphs can be truly turned into horrors beyond your imagination by comparison to what can be done with the original models from the game itself. (Cause the original models may have pretty horrid facial morphs when done right- but that series of updated models specific for animation and whatnot- have it such that you can make any deranged version of a given tf2 character that their general head shape even can be altered. Heck even the body scaling and whatnot can be altered too lol. (It's quite funny how cursed it can get quite quickly.)
