Well it’s pretty non existent really 😂 this video just opened up my mind in a good way so than you 🙏 I’ve pushed some dumbbells lately 🤷🏻♀️ pulling and pushing and not really enjoying it as much as I once did. I have a strong desire to strengthen my total body functionally. These videos have been very inspiring for me lately. I’m starting at zero. 46yrs old, mother of 6yr old twins. Just lost a good amount of excess weight (yay) and I really want to use ‘fitness’ in a more efficient way moving forward. Again thanks for these videos. So very inspiring for me. ❤️🔥
I'm stuck at pulling yet my pressing and legs are getting stronger. I've begun to add a weight vest/kettlebell/big water jug to my pushups and all leg exercises. But...stuck at pulling a max of 6 really clean arched back pull ups. Can probably hit 10 or so really clean supinated pull ups.
@@Strengthside yessir Josh, I've considered it. I just wrapped up a period of 5wks of pure strength (Reps to 8, Sets to 4/5, RI to 4min) and enjoyed the process, though taxing. I too incorporated light/med core and mobility between sets. I did not add the weight to my vertical pulls because I feel I should be able to knock out 6 chest to bar arch backs for a few sets before adding weight. Im no newbie so I cannot really figure out my lack of greater progression over a few years! Perhaps I'll switch periods to hypertrophy pressing and legs while continuing to acquire strength in pulling...but maybe add weight and shoot for consistent reps of 2 - 4. I've done a lot of continuing research for years and never come across anyone mixing pure strength and hypertrophy to any capacity. I'm tall very lean and gaining but I would like to be thicker. Of course nutrition is numero uno but I'm constantly thinking I'm underfed
I’m 66 years old and I’ve been working out for just a few months. My goal is just to be leaner, stronger and more flexible. Every video that you guys put out has helped me so much, mentally and physically. Thanks so much for your help.
Brother i am from india...37 yrs old...not at all phisically fit...seeing u i feel lyk working out the way u do.gives me immense amount of motivation... .also wanted to say u are amazing ...the kiind of movements u teach on youtube...different from most of the fitness experts i have seen...keep up the good work and inpiring people like me
I was ill for 15 years (Loss of Thyroid gland) and gained 23Kiloes. Two years ago i started new medicine and slowly began working with my body again, and now I can finally make a handstand. I do crawling and it makes me stronger - just love your videos
I relate to this so much. I was kind of a gym rat but was so stiff and some muscle groups were under developed. I grew up doing gymnastics and now have reverted back to that style of exercise. you have helped me and inspired me so much josh. I feel so much better and am gaining my shoulder flexibility and strength back!!!
@@Strengthside thanks so much🙏 I show your videos to everyone I can and even encourage mental health clients of mine to watch your videos. Keep em comin : )
Brother I want to express my sincere wishes and thanks for your uplifting videos, I was a pro Football player (Soccer in America..) my carrier cut short by a car accident, never fully recovered to play again and slowly let my self go for 2 decades, in my 60's now and realized I need to bounce back, and you are helping me much M8, I am what you call a lazy bugger now, but I'm trying to get some flexibility and power back, and watching you it reminds me of what I used to be as a youth. Keep up the great videos. Cheers
german physiotherapist here. this video shows that your mobility, your power and your creativity in moving through space is so harmonized. it is very enjoyable to see and I will for sure strive to realize your teachings in a practical way for myself. thank you for sharing
You know Josh I felt the same when got my first push up.. It took me one year.. Didn't have any one in person to advice but had a lot of positive youtubers.. And I tried plan A to plan Z.. And finally.... Aaaahhh!! Thank you all who taught me through their videos...
58 and am enjoying the vids and applying them. For some reason you inspired me to get a longboard Saturday, first time in 45 years on a board, most fun I've had in a long, long time! And yes I do have medical insurance!
Your videos are always such a good vibe , mixing fitness with fun is the way to go in life. I dropped my gym membership 2 years ago, never looked back, never felt more healthy than now.
Hey Josh, fan from brazil here. Great videos, love the lessons i get from them! Gotta say, though you may already know that, those "free-style" moves you like to do, they are literally capoeira. Don't know if you've heard of it, it's the brazilian "martial art", but it's so much more than that, it's play, music, dance, history combined altogether, and from the little I've seen from you it looks like something you'd just love. And it's got lots of acrobatics to get wild with
Dude, this is crazy. Your channel is a combo of both of my new interests and goals. Bodyweight training/stretching and Breakdance. That's wild man, what a blessing I've come across your channel.
I’ve been a trainer in my area for about eight years, coming from an entertainment background (singer, DJ). When I got my certification exam suggested that you have a certain style, and I never knew what mine was until I came across movement training about the same time. Like you I’ve been trying to slowly develop my craft and just enjoy the journey and play and have fun along the way. Also I use my GoPro eight, and iPhone to make all my UA-cam videos as well. Sorry for the long winded message. I really respect you and your channel 🙏🏼
You seem like the kinda guy thats into chakra training too it'd be cool if you did a vid about that too. I've recently been looking into eating cleaner and working out in a new clean way that unlocks my endorphins that makes me feel happy and energenic. You seem like you'd be a good teacher
20 years of lifting weights to please the bloody ego in the mirror, then found out l5-s1 protrusion and got scared. Stopped weights, watched Frank Medrano and fell in love with calisthenics to just find out I made so many mistakes for 20 years.. If I knew it before :) Finally found your channel which is mind opening. I'd love to join Primal athletes once my meniscus tear will let me.
Hi Josh, I watch your videos for a while. I love it and it inspires me to do more stretching. Do you also have a sort of routine in the morning, like a 'morning wake up stretch'? That would be great! Greetings from the Netherlands 😊
Very inspiring! I agree with you, bro. I don't like gyms, I prefer to go more natural doing bodyweigh exercises outdoor or inside my own room, I'm a beginner though. My only equipment is a pair of dumbbells and a abwheel. Thanks for sharing your insights. Greetings from Mexico.
I loved all the exercises. I am keen on trying out the ones pushing up and down on the wall straight and sideways, but I guess it will be far more difficult than it looks. I can start small. Yes, this video sparked with me. Thanks!
Im 17 started training a year+ago exactly after quarantine I was 64kg really skinny jumped to 85kg very bulky then dropped to 80 kg now only a bit bulky 17% body fat and feel way stronger just getting into handstands and planche training now after getting decent pushing strength you are a motivation bro
I spend my 20s with either partying, gaming or sitting on the couch while smoking and watching TV shows. Only in the end of my 20s I realized the positive effect exercise has on my psyche. I now spend my free time with gaming, TV shows but I exercise almost every day (if I am not injured from trying something new or doing something too excessively). The last 6 month while I was basically locked up because of corona were the height of my training discipline so far. I mean there is a field with a pull up bar near by but still, lots of exercise happened in my tiny little room on the floor. Real prison style.
Great video! 2yrs in. Lots of core, middle of the back, and shoulders rehab/strengthening! Thanks to Strength Side, it’s fun and easy! Loved the 1st t shirts you had last year, can’t wait to see the new ones!
I am turning 50, been a couch potato must of my life. I have decide to change that, this video and others like this is motivating through the pain, .I have lost 45 pounds. thank you.
Man, WOW, Shoulder push ups! I am not there yet but I used to do a variation of that move by hooking my feet on a bar for stability. I just reached my anniversary of shoulder surgery after an injury. I really like your ideas and want to work up to getting back that shoulder toughness. I have made tons of progress since I finished my physical rehab. I did great with that and have gradually been getting close to where I was before the injury. I don't want to re-injure that area again. Thanks for some great tips and ideas for overall fitness.
Ur words are true!! Thank u for enlightening us with these great exercise And I really looking forward to practice and enhance my strength and coincidentally I was about to search and now u made one.. Thank u strength 💪 side
Do you have any suggestions for someone who is rehabbing a broken clavicle? Obviously I can't take much weight with that arm until things have healed up a bit more but I was hoping you might have some chest/shoulder exercises that don't involve much lifting/weight bearing..? I know, it's probably a bit of a silly ask, I shoulder probably focus more on core and legs until things have healed up more. Loving your channel!
Upper body strength journey: - 5 years classic weight lifting stuff - about 3 years ago switched to more body weight and gymnastics style training for upper - right now working towards bar muscle up, straddle planche, 3/4 HS push-up with wall, straddle lever
I must say, been lifting weights on and off since I was 15 but recently started calisthenics using push up and dip bars and now gym rings (thanks to Tao Physique) and my body feels way stronger and healthier. I feel less stiff and feels like I can do anything.
I love your workouts and your positive outlook, so I am not trying to be negative, but all these movements are a lot easier with your build. You're naturally lean and slight. It's not as simple for us stocky gents with tree-trunk legs.
You are probably right. But there’s no perfect body for anything. I may be leaner but also have longer arms which make my levers longer and can be more challenging. There’s always going to be limiters in any movement. I choose to not worry about it too much.
Dips, weighted and just body weight, had been my "go to" for 20+ years..nothing got me sorer and i always saw growth...but it caught up with me at around 50 and a left , front delt to pec impingement, from going deep i assume, made me stop..i healed it thru rehab ..but as i got back into my dips..the pain came back...now its just weighted pushups but i dont see near the same results..but will pay attention to the form you have outlined.
I like ur idea at the tennis court. I'm always struggling for solid surfaces no concrete. No grass, beach...I wish I could find a nice public dock on the water would be perfect. Thank u so much rock on looking great 👍
Love this episode Bro! thnx for the new inspirations :D Love the mental element and appreciate all the thoughts you sharing. Sending love and appreciation all the way from Poland. hope the apparel will be available to send abroad.

In calisthenics, people almost forget that they work a lot of shoulders doing dips and pull-ups push-ups raws ( where they are pretty much engaged )...interesting but for me handstand and different variations of push-ups pike(push-ups on ground and on dip bars )...Every good position on elevated pike pushups or handstand push ups engage your shoulders and rhomboid muscules
