through the nirvanas, the smashing pumpkins all the way to the cooheeds and the pinbacks, this will always be my favorite song. No song will ever move me like this song does
If time machines were possible, there would be 10 million people packed in that place. This is the best live version of this song. The other ones I've seen mess with the ending too much.
The ending is good here but they don't play the intro correctly. I absolutely love this song and this band but they rarely seem to get this song fully correct live.
HO-LEE-CRAP! This is no joke the first show I ever went to, I can't believe someone has the whole goddamn thing up here. I have never been nor will ever be a bigger fan of any band than I was of weezer at this point in my life. The whole thing is burned into my brain, from Mikey's striped shirt and hair elastic to the WFNX sticker on Rivers' guitar. My girl had to go outside for some air until she heard the opening of Surf Wax America and went flying back inside. Nostalgia like a muhfugger.
Weezer=greatest ever. people rip on their new stuff, but i still love it. it's just less emotional, because rivers has finally found someone. he was lonely back in the day, and he expressed that through music.
Is it just me or is this song just one of those songs where it comes up on shuffle on an iPod or whatever and the opening few seconds are so powerful that you just have to stop whatever you're doing and take a long, deep sigh...?
I watched this for the first time in 2007, it’s 2020 now and i still regularly come back for a listen. Favorite live performance of all time. Edit: 2023 now and still my favorite live performance of all time, nothing comes close. Edit: 2024 we still listening, still tops
Holy Shit. The Crowd went mental @7.28. Imagine that breakdown live? The sound of the guitar, bass, drums (especially the cymbals) amplified + dry ice and the darkness on the stage. Musicians will understand this.
The songs that go above and beyond are the songs that have a bass line NOT just all root notes, but a line that is diverse and intertwines with the rest of the band.
i heard rivers always walks akward cuz he was like born with one leg longer than the other and it would hurt a little to walk. I remember reading that somewhere, but i also heard he recently got surgery for that.
This song is one of the few songs I would get buried with me, but its something that they cannot play every show....True art can't be replicated and mass produced.
Agreed with the comments that are sad they didn't play this at their most recent concert. Was my first time seeing them live, and this is my fav. Here's hoping to another album and another tour with a chance to see this song live.
I saw Weezer at a show in the late 90's, they closed with Only in Dreams, brought out the Shining =w= and dropped confetti all over the crowd from the ceiling, it was the best 10-12 minutes of my life. That's right I said it....the best 10-12 minutes of my life.
'i feel my life in between the notes'. you know, I have always tried to put into word how this song makes me feel and that perfectly descibes it. thank you
i was listening to this album the other day and when i was rockin to this song, it cut out at like, 5 mins. apparently there's a big ole scratch i didnt notice. the last part is my favorite too. :(
I thought so. I'm from their. and yeah, the building this was in is gone but the company still exist. they do their shows at a place called "The strand" now

Thank you for sharing, sounds like an amazing night and wish I was old enough to have been able to appreciate it.
I love Mikey at the end when he looks at Pat. He's all like "Dude, I wanted to close that!"
Priceless.
A eight minute song never seemed so short
"You can't avoid her, she's in the air in between the molecules of oxygen and carbon dioxide". It makes me smile everytime I hear it. Genius.
Breathe her in, breathe her out
Rest in piece Mikey, you were such a talented musician and a great person overall ♥️🎸
that was not Mikey!

This is truly special. What a song, what an intro and what a solo ! This is a 10/10 performance.
This song is one of the few songs I would get buried with me, but its something that they cannot play every show....True art can't be replicated and mass produced.
The greatest series of build-ups and breakdowns ever, also one of the best in my opinion.
i can never get sick of listening to this song it is that good. ive had the pleasure of seeing them play this live and its awesome!

right on this is totally a weezer classic. i love the bridge - the harmony between the 2 guitars is amazing.
