He looks so relaxed while swimming that fast! Unbelievable!
michael phelps 2 free vibes
@@billybob6604 he definitely has that style. swimming outside with wind and no one to pace off of..unbelievable.
@@billybob6604 bruh you’re everywhere
@@billybob6604 hey billy
He swims as technical as Alexander Popov, only with a different style.
what an incredible swim. looks like a 5 foot deep pool, he is 16, he is swimming alone, he galloped on the 3rd 50 onward, no underwaters at all, no crowd excitment, he's 16........
When you have a lot of mental strength like he does you don’t need the crowd he motivates himself but the other stuff for sure
A superstar for sure, for now and his future is to be spectacular.
Guess who's getting a scholarship?
In a super shallow pool and basically no competitors, too.
The up-and-coming teens promise an exciting new era for swimming.
Does the depth of the pool matter on how fast a pool is?
@@HugolTheBest it makes it harder to avoid the wave that other swimmers create, normally swimmers like to go deep on their turns to avoid all the drag from the waves being brought into the walls
So based on that we could assume he could go faster then?
@@lgarcia67 yes when you consider other things like; a more ideal pool (something with more depth), his competitors being closer cause that'll create less resistance if he's even with the field or ahead, and tapering (dropping training volume and focusing on your racing events). The crazy thing about this time is its something you'd see at the international level, his time alone would've placed him on the US relay if you look the the Olympic trials times for the final in the 200 free.
@@lgarcia67 for sure in a deeper pool
Bravo David! Tine-o tot asa!
What a beast. Im 15 and i aspire to be this good
They were playing superheroes by the script in the background. I love that song
Nice long stroke with good strong kick , wonder what he can do under pressure ?? Good luck to him .
Well, under a little bit of pressure he set 2 WJR's at 100 free and 1 WJR at 200 free :)
Amazing technique. Alot similar to phelps's loping stroke but with more speed.
It’s Ian Thorpe. Phelps wasn’t the first to use this technique
@@dragos9134 and most certainly there were others who did before eh
@@shihandesilva811 Yeah but he made it famous since he was so good at using it
@@dragos9134 haha not really. I prefer phelps's over thorpe. It was more smoother. Again we all have opinions🤷♂️
@@shihandesilva811 Yes but Thorpe made it popular. Phelps started training this technique when Thorpe won medal after medal in the 2000 Olympics, phelps was 15 then.
I prefer phelps too as it is much smoother like you said, but thorpe made it popular.
Geez that is fast
What the hell I cant even do that SCY lol
Breathing expertly on both sides!
Great turns!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Incredible!
He swims galloping and very fast
Looks like hes swimming above the water!
Congrats! 🔴
In the next couple of years when he fills out and gets a little more muscle he’s going to be REALLY dangerous
I think at 47.3 he is already extremely dangerous
Might make him less hydrodynamic though
@@gonzalezm244 Look at Dressel. Big muscles and still glides.
But with 47.30/1.45 100/200m I think he already is dangerous. With 47.30 I think he could’ve got silver at the olympics but he swam 48.
Well, you certainly hit the nail on it's head there.
Hez faster than many u.s swimmers going for 200. Free relay😄
I have the same time
in 100 m :D
Kid, UR GREAT, JUST GREAT!
Respecta-ți părinții care te-au adus aici!!!
Statul doar te-a premiat!
Părinții ți-au fost aproape!!
Respecta-i, PT ca ei te-au adus aici!

20MIL striga DAVID!!!
Pretty sure that’s even faster than Thorpe ever swam at that age
@@user-wv2qd1vs2h there too go then, it isn’t haha
@@user-wv2qd1vs2h Well, David just did it in 1:45.26 today
what a beast
How tall is he?
looks around 6'2 or 6'3 when compared to Robert Glinta who is 6 foot.
1.91 m
Age group WR ?
I don't think that is a thing, but if it was, Thorpe went 1:46.00 as a 16 year old. Still a mindblowing performance.
idk If anyone tracks that tbh
World Junior Record is 1:44.96 by Hwang Sunwoo (South Korea)
He has a very good chance of breaking it if he continues to improve.
1:43.9 by izotov
I can see 1.5 sec faster just with a better underwater on starts and turns.
not 1.5
@@zachsuarez1830 honestly probably, that makes a huge difference
@@zachsuarez1830 His turns could've been a little cleaner honestly
@@zachsuarez1830 easy.5 per turn and start
Facts, could be 1:44 high-1:45 mid range for the next world champs as he grows up and refines his training
wow
Someone had a really great taper i assume.
No taper
what is taper? Im not english
he just went a 1.45.29 lol
Called puberty
He's reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally long.
1.91 is normal for a swimmer
@@Falquiboy The term is used in terms of his stroke and how much water he holds on to, it's not the size of his body.
Who's here in 2024 when he just won the gold medal?
he should get his US citizenship so that the 4x200 i’ll be unstoppable in 2024 olympics.
is the olympics the country you were born in or the country you are a citizen of?
no worries, he is a proud Romanian, he wont chose any other country ;) He will bring lots of gold in the future for our country
@@j33beyond93 he did it today ..double world champ in 100 and 200 freestyle
Ok but does he go a 1:46.7 in yard?🤙🏼
Comentatorul e total defazat. ar trebui sa mearga la..o cursa de melci, sau sa se lase de comentat. Nu are nici o treaba
Is 18 not 16
What do y mean
He was born in september of 2004. That's 16
