    what an incredible swim. looks like a 5 foot deep pool, he is 16, he is swimming alone, he galloped on the 3rd 50 onward, no underwaters at all, no crowd excitment, he's 16........

      Does the depth of the pool matter on how fast a pool is?

    • @papichulo8149
      @papichulo8149 3 роки тому +19

      @@HugolTheBest it makes it harder to avoid the wave that other swimmers create, normally swimmers like to go deep on their turns to avoid all the drag from the waves being brought into the walls

    • @lgarcia67
      @lgarcia67 3 роки тому +3

      So based on that we could assume he could go faster then?

    • @papichulo8149
      @papichulo8149 3 роки тому +15

      @@lgarcia67 yes when you consider other things like; a more ideal pool (something with more depth), his competitors being closer cause that'll create less resistance if he's even with the field or ahead, and tapering (dropping training volume and focusing on your racing events). The crazy thing about this time is its something you'd see at the international level, his time alone would've placed him on the US relay if you look the the Olympic trials times for the final in the 200 free.
