I use the R20 as a travel humidor. Room for 4 avg size cigars on the bottom. I put my cutters, lighters picks etc in the tray. I keep humipacks in the rubber compartment in the lid.
Ruck 60 is great for storing a large amount of cigars and such if your a collector or fishing tools, or to store away your gun so it would be considered concealed, etc.
I put some strips of memory foam in to keep things from rattling around and some paracord on the handles to make it a bit easier to carry and to strap them down on my side by side and jon boat. I have the R60 and two R40's, wish they had an R80. They are heavy but also pretty much bulletproof. Mine are scratched, beat up and caked with dirt and have been put to the test and after three years still perform like brand new
Just got my order of the ruck r60. As you would expect, I have a bit of buyers remorse. It’s huge, heavy, and loud (clamp). I think Pelican can do better. If you’re looking for a small tackle box that’ll be the r60. I was looking for something to replace my bag so that when I’m rained on my things won’t get wet. For that reason I don’t think the r60 is reasonable. A couple of things I would change...they can make this thing lighter. I’d appreciate it if it were strong but I don’t see a situation where a car will run it over. The clasp is loud. I’d like to see a slide mechanism next time. Anything quieter would be appreciated. And this is one of my biggest gripes, enough to start a sentence with AND, there’s no strap. Why build something with strap holes but provide no straps. Sure there’s straps everywhere but nothing I’ve seen even proprietary looks compatible. I’m gonna get a luggage strap later today or something. That’s about all I have to say. It looks great but it’s as heavy as a high school biology book 📚 and even bulkier. Read specs carefully and I suggest you make a mock-up of the case out of card board so those who are interested know what they’re in for!
So are some of the same feelings I was worried about for the r60. A small tackle box is a great way to describe the r60... for most intents and purposes I think the r60 is overkill. Great idea to read the specs carefully and even make a mock-up... these things are big and if you're just looking at the internal dimensions you'll be shocked when it shows up. Awesome advice but it's unfortunate it all comes from you negative experience with that huge product.
Will the galaxy s21 ultra fit on the r20 I got different dimensions on website and labels.I like the snug fit like you for the items inside. The galaxy s21 ultra is 7 inches tall.
Been thinking about purchasing a ruck40 to be a heavy duty medkit i can throw in any backpack/bag im carrying for the day…just wondering if it fits scissors? Would you suggest the ruck40 to be a good “kinda large” sized edc med kit case?
I have a pair of Maui Jim’s and the only way I can get them in Ruck R60 is by putting them in the bag/cleaner. Other than that, it’s the only way. The soft case is too bulky and if you flip the tray it won’t close. The top shell has teeth 🦷 that holds the tray in place. You can see the teeth when he holds up the R40. It’s holding the rubber separator. At least for the R60. Also I have one of the thinnest and lightest Maui’s that fold flat for the most part. Sadly after about a week of having the R60 I found a nice North Face water resistant looking pouch that was less expensive.
GORUCK did not invent the word RUCK a rucksack is a backpack... RUCK (back, like your body part) SACK (a bag... like for your nutsack but on your bag!)
Very true! The words have been around for a long time... I don't think anyone can debate that. GORUCK absolutely did not invent the word ruck. I'm only pointing out that the GO case and the RUCK case conveniently spell GORUCK and the RUCK case has nothing to do with rucking. All of their advertising (at least so far that I've seen) has to do with overlanding and off-roading so I'm not sure why they didn't call it the OL20, OVRLND20, etc.
That would have been interesting! I think it's more Pelican trying to get some of the search traffic from people searching "GORUCK Case" or "GO RUCK Storage" on search engines. Right now if I search "go ruck case" Pelican is on the first page with their gear. It's a good marketing tactic!
Update: I just got back from Kmart, Ross, Macy’s and several local gift shops. I found ☝️ compatible luggage strap. It’s in beige. Sigh 😔. I’ll just get a black one online and leave the case at home for now.
the ruck is designed for the military. carrying electronics safely in a rucksack on operations is a pain in the ass. also, i’d pay another $20 for this thing if it keeps money in american workers pockets. shame to see something so nice is made in china.
I'm sorry to say this is one of the worst product recessive seen. The one most helpful specs you intentionally omitted was interior dimensions. I had no idea what the event you kept mentioning was and most people buy pelican cases knowing they are just open space you customize to your needs typically the divided foam you pluck squares from. Not everyone is obsessed with phones but, yet with so many size phones on the market that's where interior dims would have been helpful. Still, looks like an excellent edc (every day carry) gear organizer or 1st aid kit, etc. But, just go buy an otter box for your little phone. Just thoughts for next and maybe smoke a little less before review as you seemed excessively humored by the product. Sorry.
All they would need to do is attach a screw stateside and it would be considered “made in America” and y’all would pay twice as much, I don’t get the overt patriotism
I wasn't aware of that and from what I've seen that's not true. I know some companies assemble in the USA and their products still state made in China. Roka with their sunglasses for example. If a screw is all it takes I'm sure there would be a lot more made in USA products. The FTC seems pretty clear on it but I guess anyone can sew a made in USA tag and probably get away with it if their numbers are low enough. Also, not sure how that's overt patriotism? I try and buy local when possible and within the country I live when possible assuming the quality is there. If I lived in Canada I'd be looking for Canadian made products if possible too, assuming the quality is there. Seems like a weird thing to bash.

That's a really smart use for it... never considered it before... Thank you for letting me know!

Awesome video man! Saved me some time and money. I appreciate you!
I really appreciate you finding out where they were manufactured. It's tough to find out sometimes.

I use the 10 for a Glucose meter..test strips...lancet device with lancets..works great for my application
Yes phone ,charger ,cables knife and fire starter keys and wallet works great for me
Its the features, why they are designated differently.

Thanks. Good comparison and insights on packing gear
Great Review! Thanks so much!
Thank you! this is exactly the info I needed!
The rubber makes the case quieter on the floor of a fishing Kayak.
I never thought of that but now that you mention it I can only imagine 😅

It's definitely a kind of large sized kit. My only concern would be weight but if the weight is good for you then it should definitely work!
@@Alldayruckoff was too focused on the size, forgot about how heavy it mightve been…thank you! Ill look into this
Hope it helps! If you do end up going with it let me know how it works out. Otherwise I hope whatever you end up using is awesome!
Would you recommend the ruck 40 or the maxpedition organizer?
What is the dark green ruck on your far right?
Would any of these fit a ruger LCP or something similar? Enough room for that and a cell phone?
Any suggestion on the possibility to fasten the case on molle in GR1 or GR2?
I use Velcro straps to secure it to my inflatable stand up paddle board.
I have a q2n4k zoom camera, little bigger than a go pro, in which case do you think it fits?
Cool information. I’d say Ruck came from the idea of the durable Ruck Sack, which is an older term for what is now a backpack.
Makes sense! Just seemed a little interesting considering the other company :)
Can put a decent amount of weed in there to keep it dry
Ccp cases
Can any of these fit a pair of sunglasses with the tray? Oakley fuel cell or Costa Tuna Alley style. Thanks.
Are the sunglasses in a case or a sleeve or just out in the open? Planning on putting them on the tray or below the tray?
All Day Ruckoff In the Open. Maybe if the tray is flipped?

I never thought to check Ross but I know they're prices are on point. I should check them out more often 😬
ITS CALLED `RUCK` AS IN "RUCKSACK" as in pack to carry your stuff!
I'm pretty sure most people here know what a ruck as in rucksack is... Right?

Why did Pelican copy Goruck's name though, very crafty 😏.
Very crafty indeed!
