I'm a 218lb 6ft tall new runner. Really struggled to find a show with cushioning that didn't make it feel like I was running in sand and wouldn't break down too fast, can handle orthotics and has a roomyish toe box becasue...orthotics. Got the Glycerin 20 and it's exactly what I was looking for. I honestly love this midsole.
Ever had a shoe so good, comfortable and excellent fit… you had to get a second pair of the same model? That’s what the glycerin 20 is to me. I love the grey and blue and just bought a 2nd black and white on its way from Brooks online store. I love these shoes and hope Brooks keeps this model for years and years to come.
I am a new runner, 186cm and I weight 92 KGs and my PB over a 10K is 6min 30 sec. I had been using my (really) old running shoes and was beginning to feel slight discomfort after long runs (~10K). A shop near my place had an offer to get professional advice for free. Based on my weight and running style (tested on a treadmill), and after some trials, I landed on the Glycerin 20. Yet to do a long run on them, but they felt great and yes may be the extra cushioning could hurt speed, but I am at a stage where my priority is to keep my interest in running going consistently!
I got this shoe at Thanksgiving and I wore it all throughout December for my Track preseason training after I had to retire my Peg 38’s. I felt that the shoe was very heavy and it really only felt good for me on recovery runs. I felt that the really large heel was encouraging me to heel strike more. I didn’t feel that the new nitrogen sole of the shoe made a difference and I felt like the cushioning was both very similar to shoes I had in the past and had to wide of a surface area for me. I ended up replacing them at the end of December for Peg 39’s that I feel are much lighter and are better with promoting proper running form. I mainly just wear the Glycerins to the gyms and school now. I know that some shoes feel different for other people, but that is how they felt on me. I think that the biggest problem for me was definitely the weight of the shoe. (I also just referred to them as the goofy a Brooks after I started to realize that they weren’t the shoe for me😂)
I have this and the peg 40. The glycerin 20 is the same weight as my peg 40 (around 290gm US9) but is softer/bouncier. I wouldn't describe it as heavy.
I really like your strop light rating system. These are a recent purchase for me. Lots of years running but my first pair of Brooks. In store, I really liked the feel of the midsole. Comfortably soft yet still bouncy and responsive. That first impression has held up during my runs. Agree on not a great summer shoe (I also have the black color way) but the gray version should be less of a sun magnet. Also agree they feel lighter than spec’d. Thanks for the great review.
6' 2" at 210 lbs and bought this shoe (Glycerin 20) as a recovery only shoe. My speed day shoe is an ASICS TriNoosa15 and that sucker is fast. The Glycerin will only be for logging easy miles and keeping up my weekly mileage stats - it has been great at that (easy on the foot and legs).......... BTW - if you think you don't need a recovery shoe - wait till you hit 50+ ( just sayin'....)
I really love Glycerin GTS 19 & even so for the latest GTS 20 for their stability and cushioning on my LSD training. I even have 2 pairs of GTS20. (It was soon sold out for the popular 8.5UK 2E size).
Hi, I don't know if I pronate more or not. I have just started training/running, heavyweight, height 1.85cm. Not looking for race or long marathons, just for daily 10km walk plus intermittent runs. Which would you recommend? GLYCERIN 20 REGULAR, OR WITH GTS? And apart from Glycerin, which shoe? Also considering Speed 3. I could buy two pairs, if it would help. Thanks!
I’m running my first half marathon in March, what would you recommend if I was previously training on Brooks Adrenaline 21, I tried the ASICS gel nimbus 25 but they felt way too soft and I think were hurting my knees. Thoughts on a good trainer/race day shoe for a half marathon? Best for 2023?
I wanted to love the glycerine 19 because they were so plush and felt good in the winter...but the midsole material was boring to say the least....shall I give the 20s a try or is it pretty much the same?
I've just got these, first run they burned my soles. Very disappointing as i just retired my old 19 one's and I'm training for my 1st Marathon in October. I tried a thicker sock and that helped only just a little. A lotta dosh to fork out and not be 100% satisfied like with all of my other Brooks shoes.
Sorry Brooks, but this one is a hard pass. The $160 for an EVA daily trainer? Y'all are charging Endorphin Speed prices for Pegasus performance. LOL. My Speed v2's are versatile enough to handle daily miles, long tempo runs, workouts, and races up to half marry. About the only thing the Speed doesn't excel at is recovery days. All this flexibility for $160. Why would I want an EVA brick from Brooks for the same price?
This new version doesn’t have an EVA midsole, it’s a nitrogen infused super critical foam. And the fact that it’s the same price as last years version that did have EVA is great
@@brent__earl Super critical IS NOT the foam. "Super critical" refers the PROCESS used to aerate the foam (eg.. to inject gas into the foam). The actual foam can be ANY material. In the Glycerine 20, the foam is in fact EVA foam as I stated. My comment stands.
@@Swagalious689 This rational only works if $/mi is the one & only metric you value when buying running shoes. For me, cost/mile means little if each mile logged is sub-optimal. If the first 300 miles are sub-optimal, why would I want to run an additional 200? I'd rather run 300 excellent miles in the Endo Speeds than 500 mediocre miles in something less fun/bouncy/comfortable/responsive/lively/energetic.

Nc REVIEW sir
Got it as well 🙂

Why GTS version is less in eyes of runners, if
it is the same shoe with side stability part?
Am I missing something?

I’m using them and super confortable for daily training. Not sure for marathon at a slow pace. What are your thoughts?
Definitely great for training! I could see some people wear them for a slow marathon, but not me, personally.
Can u do a review on brooks ghost 14 and adrendline 22 please
Brooks adrendline 22 is good shoe too and ghost 14
Which one do you think is better?
21th version seems delayed.....
How is it compared to the Oncloud Monster? Thanks!
I’d say it’s softer and more “traditional”, while the CloudMonster is a bit firmer and snappier thanks to the rocker and speedboard
I wanted to love the glycerine 19 because they were so plush and felt good in the winter...but the midsole material was boring to say the least....shall I give the 20s a try or is it pretty much the same?
It’s a huge change in my opinion! Definitely more lively!

Maybe a sole support would help...I read this model only has average support.

@@EricS-uf9mv it will last for another 200miles longer then the speed 3.
