Tokyo Earthquake - Mori Tower 52nd Floor (11/3/2011)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 бер 2011
- I was on the 52nd floor of the Mori Tower in Roppongi Hills when the earthquake struck. You can get a sense of how much the tower was shaking from the curtains moving and the people screaming. The earthquake itself was scary, but the psychological fear of the tower collapsing etc was stronger.
Well after the earthquake stopped, the building continued to sway back and forth. We ended up waiting about 1 1/2hrs for the lifts to start up again.

Lua 444 Ha. Feel that guy’s need for speed.
Usually, a building in Japan has a system to relax shock waves.
The reason why the building is shaking so much is because it is spreading the energy to the entire system.
By doing so, it will avoid certain weak-points to be over damaged and break down.
If you knew this, you will never panic.
Idiot statement. That’s like saying people going to the moon or mars should never feel anxiety. You dunno for sure things will go right
@@legendofzelda2324 It’s true that the uncertainty will still definitely cause anxiety or fear. I think quiedger2224 was just saying that, since Japan’s systems against earthquakes are much better than those in the rest of the world, there is relatively less panic.
@@legendofzelda2324you literally are proving how little you know. Hear an astronaut talk about their missions and they’ll tell you there’s never any crossing their fingers hoping it works fine. There’s supreme confidence and research handled to the point of knowing every possible solution to any possible problem. So no, I’d say most astronauts are not anxious.
@@JAKEtheRAKE23Yeah, because no space mission has ever gone awry. They go perfectly according to plan every single time, so there's no reason for anyone to feel anxious about sitting on a massive tank of fuel hurtling at insane speeds to break out of Earth's atmosphere - as long as they rely on the research and engineering. It's not like they could be sitting there one second and gone the next over something as mundane as a failed O-ring, just ask Christa McAuliffe.
Also, multiple astronauts have given interviews where they explicitly say that they experience fear and/or anxiety like most rational people would in that situation, they're just incredibly capable of managing those emotions and still being able to work despite them.
@@JAKEtheRAKE23 May I ask how many astronauts you've spoken with personally?
I kinda relate to this situation. I was on the 47th floor when an earthquake strike. That time, I am standing because I'm talking with my co-worker. The earthquake was strong enough to make you feel a bit dizzy. It was my first time experiencing an earthquake in a higher place. When the earthquake stopped, I decided to get all my stuff and immediately evacuate through the fire exit. It was very tiring because, from the 47th floor, you need to walk/run down to the ground floor. It's true that the psychological fear of the building collapsing is stronger. Even if you calm yourself, the fact that you are in a higher place is enough to make you cry or trembling in fear.
I wonder if most people's fear stems from the fact they still refuse to believe Jesus paid for their sin and offered eternal life for free?
Prolly a lot fewer than you think.

My Dad used to work for Texas Instruments and had to take a business trip to Tokyo to see the clients on some project they were working on. He got to the hotel and was given a tour of Tokyo by the concierge. The concierge was particularly proud of the spring system on which the hotel was built. When an earthquake hits the hotel can give a little to the shaking. Sure enough My Dad woke one morning and saw the horizon swaying from his window(his room was several stories up) He called and the concierge was up make sure he was alright and to remind him about the springs in the basement and what he experienced was his first earthquake.

Japan: 9.0 magnitude earthquake
Everyone: understandable, have a great day
İyiydi
this one got me
wow hahaha
In this particular case the earthquake epicenter was 373 km north east of Tokyo. Had the epicenter been in the Tokyo vicinity, it would be a whole different ballgame.
IN WTC.
Japanese: down the stairs
American: jump off a building
I love how the lady is holding them back against the wall, even though in reality if anything fails on the building, there's nothing they could do...
Japan : 9.1 magnitude and people chilling
My country : 1 magnitude and everyone starts dying
