  • How do Visa and Mastercard credit cards compare? Which one is better? What even is the difference between the two cards? Who should you trust with your money?
    According to data released April 26, 2018, by the American Banking Association, there were 364 million open credit card accounts in the United States as of the end of 2017. And credit cards are found in most Americans' wallets with multiple studies showing that about 7 in 10 Americans have at least one credit card. With so many cards on the market, which one is the right one to choose? We won’t be looking at every card out there today but we will be comparing two of the major players.
    The two that we’ve all heard of and most of us have used or will use at some point. Welcome to this episode of The Infographics Show: Visa vs. MasterCard.

      Well there isn't really a comparison between visa and MasterCard for consumers anyway you use them the same way and are both widely accepted globally I've never seen anywhere take one but not the other the only real things to look at are are what the bank offer you.

      Because there is no comparison you can make between them. They both do the exact same thing. The only thing you can compare is the cards that the bank offers, not Visa/MasterCard. I don't care if my card is Visa or Mastercard, I care about the annual fee, interest rate, and rewards.

    Do not open a card with an annual fee.
    They have potential to make you more in points and rewards, but it's a mind-game that they play, in order to get you to spend more. By charging a fee, you are more likely to make a purchase using that card, and also, to ensure you're not missing any benefits or paying for the fee when you really didn't need too, you may begin to rationalize and justify otherwise irrational spending.
    Buy within your needs. It's very simple: if you don't have the money in the bank, do not buy anything with your card.
    I'm aware that some people fall on hard times, and perhaps they have a pay check coming in a few days, remember the above statement... Do not buy anything with money you do not have.
    I hope some of this information helps someone.

      Credit cards with annual fees are not only about rewards and points. It's about the added benefits such as insurance (travel, medical, car rental). It's not a mind game. When you sign up, you compare the pros and cons. If one outweighs the other, you know the answer. Don't discourage others by saying do not open a card with annual fee when you haven't even touched upon the best benefits which is actually the insurance benefits and not the points. $120 yearly is nothing when you're getting lost baggage, flight delay, car rental, etc.

    • @alanwolenskyii9561
      @alanwolenskyii9561 5 років тому +8

      There are cards out there with no annual fee that cover most, if not all, of the benefits that you're talking about, which is why I chose to leave speaking about those perks out. It absolutely is a mind-game. Credit card companies flaunt around their cards; showing flashy items, perks, and famous personalities to represent their brand. This is all part of their marketing strategies and helps their perception to the public. It's a game, much like all other advertisements, the only difference is the playing field. While a seldom few can manipulate the system, there is almost no meaningful gain for the average American. I'd encourage everyone to always do a process analysis, whenever making a finacial decision. If you are, for example, a frequent flyer or business owner, it probably benefits you to indulge in a "premium" credit card, such as the American Express Platinum or Chase Saphire Reserve cards, respectively. This is, however, no means to suggest that simply because the rewards are better, you should pay an annual fee to recieve them; especially when there are many a free alternatives.
      I do agree that there are instances in which it would benefit a person to pay for a "premium" card, however, I do not agree that it is for the other 99%.

    • @romanbaranovichi5375
      @romanbaranovichi5375 5 років тому

      Alan Wolensky II I don’t think any charge free card has the same benefits as an Amex Platinum or Chase Sapphire. If you fly on a certain airline and stay at a certain hotel chain all the time, then choosing the right card can offer good benefits that outweigh the annual fees.
      For example Amex platinum takes care of up to $200 a year in airline ancillary charges and $200 in Uber credits spread out over 12 months as well as free TSA pre check and Global Entry. These are costs that a frequent flyer might anyway incur, and by booking with an Amex Platinum, you get 5x points on airfare and access to centurion lounges. Throw in a Saks Fifth Avenue credit as well as the Platinum Concierge service, it adds up to a pretty good deal.

      Cheques are a brutal medieval method of paymant, I suffered when I wanted to pay in advance for a campground in the USA. The local state authority didn't accept on-line card payment nor any form of bank transfer, I just had to MAIL them a cheque in an envelope from Europe to USA, but I struggeled to even find a bank that would issue me the cheque. Almost noone does that in Europe and in tha banks they looked at me like I was from the 80s. Even the eastern Europe is more technologically advanced than many of the US state authorities. This is ridiculous.

      Only difference is that since Visa has larger POS coverage ,almost 136m across the world, it is best for using in foreign countries and for online transactions. Mastercard is best for withdrawals and domestic transactions..Well that's what many websites say.
