    Hi there, just found your channel. I didn’t do an LLC first, so I applied for a trademark because I didn’t want to lose the name, I just got notified that my trademark came through. I have ITU, so have to show use in commerce before November 7th. Now the tricky part is I have to get the LLC, and transfer the trademark to the LLC. Is that going to create any issue in your opinion? It’s all new to me as I’ve never had a business before and all rather daunting. Thank you for any information😊

      Generally I do the statement of use for the current business entity, and then transfer it to the LLC later. Otherwise it is awkward because the new LLC is not the one who signed the initial application and isn't the one doing the business yet.

    Hey Elizabeth...great info...
    One question though; what would you suggest I do if I'm living in the UK, but want to set up a Company in (let's say) the Cayman Islands, and wish to register a Trademark in the US of A...? 😬😀

      Whether you set up the company in the US or in another country, still is the same idea as I talk about in the video

    First of all, thank you for such amazing content!
    I'm a non-US resident can I file a trademark in my name without an LLC?
    & if I create an LLC can I file the trademark myself?

      You don’t need an LLC. But it’s not about whether you have an LLC - the owner (you or the LLC) must have a domicile (home or office or store location) in the US for you to file with no attorney

    Do you ever speak about Not for profit vs LLC ?

    • @ElizabethPW
      @ElizabethPW  5 місяців тому +1

      I don't talk about non-profits that much because I don't have any expertise about them. This is the law firm I recommend about that www.fplglaw.com/

    Can I just to be a sole proprietor of the business (not LLC or corporation) but still have my own trademark?

    • @ElizabethPW
      @ElizabethPW  5 місяців тому

      Yep! You file as an individual or as a sole proprietor

      I don't help with LLCs anymore, but yes I can help people with USPTO trademarks, regardless of where they are located

    I’m so confused. I’ve had my LLC for 1.5 years. Just launching my brand. Do I have to have my business name/brand/logo TRADEMARKED?!! I had no idea!

    • @ElizabethPW
      @ElizabethPW  5 місяців тому +1

      It’s not required, but yes it is a different way to protect your brand (LLC designation doesn’t protect the name)
