I loved when you said "they remind me of inktense" I was like Em.....they are inktense 😂
I love the palette in this box and the mixed media vibe. I'm going to play around with mixing the inktense sharpenings with water and then gouache to make some pastel gouache 😊

I always enjoy an unboxing so I hope you stick with them either with Scrawler box or something else but I totally understand your feelings with this one. It was very lacklustre with just some basic supplies that didn't seem very inspiring. Anyways hope you're doing well and I'll be looking forward to your next videos ❤

Hope your doing okay Emily! - But Yes I completely agree with Scrawlrbox's worth just decreasing, its so sad to experience first hand.
I still have one more box after this one since I brought 6 boxes. I really don't know if I'll continue my subscription, something is definitely missing, only box 103 has gave me the same experience as my old subscription, box 102 came close but still felt like it was missing something.
Be glad you didn't test that gouache, it was not great imo and I gave it a fair shot. I have my scrawlrbox unboxing for this box filmed, its yet to be edited.

Welcome back! That pallet looks great. Maybe look at storage wars for inspiration for the hodgepodge prompt?🐝 (also, scrawled does seem to be slacking off a bit on materials)

Maybe create your own version of a scrawler box by buying some fun random art supplies form a local art store, worth around the same price as a subscription box, and come up with your own fun creation? I am sure you could be far more creative than Scrawlr has been.

HI Emily, lovely to see you no matter what the format. Ah I love Inktense but I do have loads of them already so yet again I'm not sorry I cancelled my sub - I think they're still good value, and I used to love the surprise and trying new things/new combos, but for me it got to a point where I have so many art supplies already and it's hard for them to keep finding something entirely new to try. With money being tight since I retired, I would rather spend my limited budget on art supplies of my choice. I was worried I'd regret it when I stopped in Jan, but actually it's fine and I could have made up a similar box each month from what I already have, so I think it was the right decision for me. Still fun to watch you unboxing and trying them though :)

Most of them are just locked away in a box not been used , but scrawlrbox was a little something for me as a little treat each month but I don’t really feel excited about it anymore 😔 think I’ll continue for rest of the year and then reconsider
I used to have a craft box subscription and after awhile I agree that they just start slacking off on sourcing supplies. There's only so many supplies to try for the first time and it just loses appeal over time ...
Yeah it’s such a shame , I guess it can become difficult to think outside the box especially because they’ll have a budget 😔 I think I’ll keep subscribed until the end of the year 🤔

I feel the same way about scrawled box several lately haven’t felt like they are worth it. This month I already had four of the six colours which doesn’t help. Still can’t make my mind up about keeping it or not so will be interested in seeing what you decide

I wonder if they’ll see the feedback and maybe think about how they can improve?
It’s a tough decision isn’t it! I might continue for rest of this year and then stop if they don’t get any better 🤔
I gave up on scrawler box a while back, they kept getting stuck in customs for some reason, unfortunately after Brexit, it's really hard to order things from the UK to Portugal I only subscribe to upcrate now, had some issues with them in the past but now they are coming on time. I love ur videos
Oh no! I’m really sorry that kept happening to you! Upcrate is such a great subscription, I feel they’ve got a lot better 😄 I’d be subscribed to them too but I can’t afford to atm haha
@@EmilyArts me neither I canceled them when I was short of money... and the box was still missing...I got it but I had to make choices....
I'm in the process of moving house at the moment and haven't changed my address so had to wait til late yesterday to pick my scrawlrbox up.I had to keep pushing this video down the queue so it wasn't a spoiler!
I've never used the inktense pencils before, something that's initially water soluble then dries permanently should be fun to play with!
There's only so many art supplies to try so supply boxes do start getting samey. Plus costs of postage keep going up. I'm still enjoying most of them but they're rarely surprising anymore.
Take your time if you need it to come back x
As someone who doesn’t yet have the Scrawlr box subscription, I enjoy watching your videos and I completely agree that this box is underwhelming! I nearly got this one and think it would’ve put me off to be honest - suppose there’s always the option to pause the subscription for a little?

Hullo Emily, I do enjoy watching your ScrawlrBox videos. I do agree that there are only so many different art supplies, yet I believe that they cold do a bit better job sourcing the artist and getting more out of the supplies they include in the boxes! I believe the Inktense products have so many uses that are far beyond just working on plain paper! I have seen them used creating textures and designs on fabrics and other textiles. Printmaking is more than just block printing with Linoleum. Have you seen the latest videos from Kasey Golden and her use of the Prixel print box? She has even tried some animated shorts! I would like to see a little more imagination from the people at these art subscription companies! It cannot all be left up to the subscribers, you do a marvelous job with what they give you, but not everyone is a trail blazer and coming up with wide ranging ideas is their job. I am glad your doing a bit better Please take your time and put yourself first. I know you must get ton's of questions and desires for updates. You must take care of yourself. I encourage you to stay safe and BE WELL!

I think sometimes the art boxes are good because you might enjoy using something you wouldnt ordinarily have thought to try, but other times you'll have spent £20+ on a box you might only use once. Other than the fun of opening the box, you would be better off spending your money on things you know you will use
Yeah I completely agree! It’s getting to the point where I just have so many art supplies that I don’t use and it’s taking up space 😅 think I’m gonna sell them all together

I’m considering giving it up now it’s been over 4 years for me but on the other hand I don’t have any other content that anyone is interested in so if I stop getting the box I’ll delete my channel.

Haha it’s a tricky one , I think I’m gonna keep my subscription for the rest of this year and then have a rethink as to whether I can justify spending £20+ on art supplies I might not use 🤔 if the price goes up again it’ll definitely be the end of an era for me which is such a shame 😔 and haha I didn’t read the label properly I feel so silly 😂
