This is just one of those inspirational videos which makes you want too just get out on the field and try your hardest, there is nothing better than running out onto the field, fresh smell of deep heat and hearing the spectators cheer.
What's even more amazing is that this was YEARS after his prime. 1995 was when Jonah was at his best, but this was 6 years later. He's big, he's fast and knows how to find a gap when it doesn't exist. For some reason people try to tackle him high into the body, but that doesn't work against a ridiculously fast 120kg brute like Jonah. But then again, his legs are moving so fast that it's pretty hard to get to them too!
Finally a balls out rugby video that isn't just a string of illegal tackles. Only way to improve it would be to use less well known music and have some more vicious scrums thrown in. Well done mate.
Jeeeez! this is why I love rugby (union)! Last true Gladatorial sport there is left in the world. Good skills on this epic video! Get it on Rugbydump website!!!
i always get the chills when the allblacks do the haka. Haka is a traditional ancestral war cry, dance or challenge from the Māori people of New Zealand. It is a posture dance performed by a group, with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment. The New Zealand rugby team's practice of performing a haka before their matches has made the dance more widely known around the world.
As a Sourh african I can proudly say that we are the only rugby playing nation that can contend with the all blacks consistently year after year. We are the only team that can not only face the haka with the utmost respect but accept the challenge and win. But I will say that the all blacks consistently produce the best players ever to play the game...Ritchie Macaw, Dan Carter, Andrew Mertins, Christian Cullen, Doug Howlette, Kerian Reid, Justin Marshall the list goes on...but. Lomu...wow
Yeah. Im a New Zealander and I agree with you all the way. South Africa is the second best international rugby team. If course the All Blacks are in front. SA has a very well balacef team of quick but heavy forwards and agile and able to dodge backs. You just need to work on passing and team work. Keep it up SA you're gonna beat us soon!
As a rugby and football player from England, Ray lewis is someone that all should look up to. What sets him apart in the NFL is that he does wrap up in almost all his tackles, it's why you don't see him miss with mere shoulder pops as seen a lot in football. I don't think his presence would mean pads in rugby, by any means, but I seriously doubt he'd be banned either.
About 7 or 8 year ago I saw this video in like 5th or 6th and I loved it . It was my favorite rugby video until it vanished from my favorite list and bookmarks. So I was left wondering what the heck happened was the channel taken down or what. Until I figured out the name of the first song "requiem" and today I am reunited with this gem of blood and bruises
That beast is Jonah Lomu. Check him out playing in the 1995 World Cup against England, not only does he run around you, he runs over you! He was about 120kg and could run a 10.2s 100m. Sadly kidney failures shortened his career drastically, but still a rugby legend! Though in that particular clip he was playing for Barbarians RC, an invitational side instead of his usual All Blacks team.
I have experience in both American Football and Rugby (Lived in Liverpool for 2 years) and while I adore both sports and think they're 2 of the best sports in the world... The more brutal and punishing sport IS American football, I've taken some shots in rugby, but none that come close to the bone crushing shots you take in American Football. When you get hit with those shoulder pads in the ribs, it's a pain like you've never felt before. Both sports are amazing none the less.
Jonah in his prime was UNSTOPPABLE! So sad to see such talent diminish because of health issues. Anyway, as a kiwi, it still sends chills down my spine to see Kapa o Pango
Anyone who doubts the force and violence of either Rugby or American Football needs to step on to the pitch/field and take a hit. A top player from either sport will knock us mere mortals into next week, if not the next life.
Amen to this. I played No. 2 (Hooker) for my Rugby Union team and I remember the scrum collapsed at one point when it was their scrum. Their front 3 men went down before us so I landed (as well as my 2 props) on top of them which probably resulted in my safety. However, the other team's hooker ended up with a shattered collarbone and slight concussion.
@19EHF No blocking in rugby, tackles are below the shoulder and you have to wrap up, unless its rugby league where you can shoulder check but it has to land below the shoulders i think.
I remember a game the All black decided they would do the haka in the changing rooms in stead of on the field because of all the complaining that was going on...All that the other team succeeded in doing was pissing off the 60 thousand strong crowd that missed out on seeing it and getting bashed by the All Blacks by 50 points. .I guess my point is it go's deeper then you will ever understand and if you don't get it ...you never will!

That Transformers soundtrack goes epically with the rugby spirit of power, courage, team spirit and glory ! Well done mate !!!
This is the best rugby video I've seen so far and I watch A LOT of rugby videos!
Props on the high quality video. no pun intended. Usually they're so blurry you can barely tell what's going on.

well done man , great video :)
I love the try at 4:26, was executed brilliantly!!
this is great. for once, a well edited, "modern" rugby montage.
Agreed, and especially in sevens, it takes so much skill and awareness to make last second decisions that could result in a win or loss.
Best rugby video on youtube ,
i always get the chills when the allblacks do the haka.

brilliant video mate
Best video of what is rugby about!
Haha Steve Borthwick refuses to take the ball from the guy when walking onto the pitch, love a bit of Borthwick
This is fantastic!
The try scored at roughly 04:39 is the definition of team work! Awesome compilation video by the way. I challenge you to make a better one =P
beautiful video, thanks for sharing!

best rugby video around
what a great comeback, instead of stating how you disagree with his statement you simply say ur face is gay how very mature of you
Oh man, every time i see a clip with Jonah Lomu in, a tear comes from my eye.
This video is... Beautiful :O
Same to an NFL player going into rugby bro. Regardless, both sports have their greats and we should appreciate them both :D

There were big hits, great tries and Jonah Lomu!
the music was fucking awsome dude!
Nice vid!
lol , word of advice, the more you play the more you need to know about the players and the traditions, it really helps

I think I am beginning to like rugby. Originally an American Football fan. This looks awesome
EPIC VIDEO
GOOD JOB
rugby union is simply the best sport there is.
its so fun to make a similar tackle to one of the ones shown
It's always good to see someone get crunched on a tackle!
хорошее видео!
nice video, thx!
Nice work, good music, ;)
Great video.
:O 4:23 was one of the rare moments in rugby where you see true beautiful play :O
Great vid
awsome vid!!!!
AWESOME!!
This Is Why I Love Rugby !
awsome video
30% of the tackles I just saw were illegal.
How can you not like the Haka! Done with passion and the ancestors in mind, it's a great way for the AllBlacks to get a rugby game going.
.. i couldn't have put it in better words.
i salute you great sir, ('_')7
haha the face of Habana at the moment of the haka,
he is like What The fuck are they doing?
I love it every time i watch this video i collapse because it´s soooo amazing
beautiful
best rugby video
Jonah in his prime was UNSTOPPABLE! So sad to see such talent diminish because of health issues. Anyway, as a kiwi, it still sends chills down my spine to see Kapa o Pango
I played this sport for one season in college. Closest I'll ever get to fighting in a medieval battle... now I just play Skyrim...

Jonah Lomu :) playing for Barbarians. He is the beast in alot of the clips haha, great player in his day, sadly had kidney issues so early retirement
It's Jonah Lomu :)) The Legend !

this music makes anything sound epic...
I love this video
questo è cuore , anima e corpo; questo è Sport .
this is heart, soul and body; this is Sport.
Completely agree mate, never said rugby was unsafe.
@19EHF No blocking in rugby, tackles are below the shoulder and you have to wrap up, unless its rugby league where you can shoulder check but it has to land below the shoulders i think.
i dont about you guys, but that got me jacked up
hake gives me goosebumps everytime...
epic motivation before workout.
Jonah makes me laugh. It's like a dad playing rugby with his kids the way they are all hanging off of him.
Damn Jonah was the man, forgot about the sevens, even less a chance for the opposing tackler with all that room..!!
so good~~~~~
i like the nfl and rugby and watch and enjoy both regularly
Un bellissimo video
1:00 - That was class!
acrossthetasman com is where I get my replays :)
this may sound stupid but our rugby coach makes us watch the hacka before every game
I approve of this video
shits gonna go viral pretty soon
this vid is epic
I've played both. They're both very difficult in different ways.
Of course they are. Even with that 'armor' as Rugby fans often call it, the human body can only withstand so much force before it breaks.
0:35! WOW! What a hit :D
Educated response ..well done
Well said :)
That's Bryan Habana. World Player of the Year. He killed them that day.
At 2:19 you can see Saia Faingaa backing up his teammate. Rugby is like a war out there, you need your buddies to back you up =D
