Your first note warm up is incredible Dang what a ring
Thanks Oldtimedrumcorps.
Thanks for the vid, Phil; it was clear and to the point. That said, for some reason I'm just not seeing the value of the Stamp method. My bad but I've gotten a lot out of the Caruso method and Clarke exercises, Bai Lin flexibility and a lot more - but I just don't see what the Stamp method does that other methods don't accomplish.
Anyway, you've got a great sound on the horn and I appreciate your hard work in doing these vids.
Great. What a sound
Thanks Sean.
What are you practising ATM?
@@PhillONeillTrumpet start w gentle lead pipe work and a bit on mouthpiece, then Stamp 1 followed by some Chas Colin’s and some tonguing
Full and bright sound on up through that high C. Inspiring man, excellent.
Thanks captain. Give it a go at home and you will start to ring bright too.
Very helpful! Love Stamp.
One of my favourite sites of exercises.
Wonderful take on Stamp. I love this method. I like your take on it, especially the emphasis on the chord tones in the key of the exercise. Great way to help the ear training as well.
thanks T.L. sounds like you know all the routines :P
Phill O'Neill
No just a trumpet nerd.😊
thanks. I have focal dystonia. I put the first note in a loop and watch it 200x a day. it helps.
Dystonia, that must make playing Trumpet challenging. Top effort sticking to it!!! #HappyPractising
@@PhillONeillTrumpet Thanks. Do you help people with dystonia?
@@ebjazz not that I know of specifically. It's not something I know a lot about to be honest. How does it impact your trumpet playing?
@@PhillONeillTrumpet Can't play much
@@ebjazz That sounds quite frustrating. The only advice I can offer is to take your own journey. Progress at the rate that you can with your circumstances.
Thank you!!!
Really like your videos. I just ordered the Stamp book and look forward to improving.
Great work. You will love the stamp exercises.
Excelente..gracias..sería fantástico agregar la partitura. HERMOSO SOUND..motivante.
Thanks Nelson.
There is a link in the description to where you can find the music. I can’t upload the score due to copyright.
Thanks again.
Hello phill if you can do a video on endurance
Hi Mel,
Yes I’ll get put a video together for you.
Phil, should i be concerned about playing too loud too early on the warmup as far as damaging my lips?
Hi Steve,
You should be practicing all dynamics. If you play loud counter it with soft. Check out my long tones video for more info.

Yes
Sounds like a Bobby Shew Yamaha ?
Only because you haven't heard me on a boby Shew :P
The Shew horn is way to bright for my liking in my hands. Great horn had a lot of fun playing it but not for me.
Phill O'Neill can you tell me what horn you’re playing, it’s splendid...you’re a great player you can make any horn sound wonderful nevertheless that horn you’re playing is elite sounding ...what is it ?
@@pauldance7387 Hi Paul,
That's very kind of you to say. Thank you.
This is the Stomvi master. Absolutely fantastic horn I loved playing it, it just felt great to play and really helped me get the sound in my head out through the horn.
Cómo puedo conseguir pdf gratis de stamp..?
What was the intro song
Hi Exlipse, it’s a fanfare I wrote to promote the release of my album “The Operatic Trumpet” you can check out the album on Spotify.
I hear Schlossberg,
Oh yea, Jimmy was a student of Schlossberg.
Have you checked out the After Schlossberg book? There are a lot of similarities between the Stamp and the Schlossberg method.
Yes, Tom was a student of Stamps,
Exactly. I think I read somewhere that Schlossberg and Stamp were under the same pedagogy as Maggio.
Dontch gootta hear somethin'??
What do you mean?
