- Following Shed Seven hitting number 1 on the UK album charts this year, I got the chance to have a chat with frontman and lyricist Rick Witter about the inspiration behind the album, and to see if I could get him to spill the beans about what it all means!
I like his lyrics. They actually sound like something. As oposed to be ageneric undefining set of phrazes.
Shed seven and British Indy are top tier. I'm so glad I discovered your channel James. I think this new wave of British Indy rock will catch like wildfire. I'm waiting for a 2nd British invasion. Please save us from Taylor Swift. Cheers from Noth Carolina mate!
I went to see Cast and Shed Seven at Brixton Academy in 2018. I went to see Cast but came away a Shed Seven fan, they blew me away! A great live band, I've been a fan ever since. Wished i realised how good they were back in the 90s. Great interview as always James. Well done.
Fair play to him and the band. I like the band and have fond memories of enjoying their second album and seeing them playing in Belfast in the mid nineties. They are going strong - and more power to them.
Great band seen them many times over the years
Fantastic interview James,That is a top album!
It’s great how they put the album cover together in the old school way like Oasis etc
Shed Seven! Massive in 24! Who would have said that in 94? Love to see it ❤
Quality Band. Saw them at Manchester Academy, December 96 - HOOJ!
Best album.
The Pete Dorthy song throwaways is very good. They deserve their 1 album for a matter of time.
Truth Be Told 2001 was missed by many fans as their popularity was waining in the mainstream - check it out - it’s great
great guy isn't he? I'd take them oveer most acts back in the day.
good cue for some Shed seven transcriptions/lessons I'd say...... :D
Been waiting for a video like this
Good to see the Sheddies back.
You need to interview The Kairos. Honestly the best band in the country at the minute. Need a video on them
Rick Witter reminds me a lot of Reece Shearsmith out of The League of Gentlemen. Both funny, down to Earth blokes.
Great band not seen em live for about 25 years!
Shed Heaven James
Top band
James sees concept album.
Album creator says no.
There you go, James, it’s all in your head.
Hey james, i have a question for you, in 1996 Oasis played in Manchester, around the time 3:01 Noel starts playing a incredable riff, and i've been wondering about it.
Do you think Noel practiced that riff on Studio or he just improvised it? Either way, that riff it's legendary, i love it and it's my favorite.
Is that cover art a Michael Spencer Jones?
when i saw it the 1st thing that came in my head was Brian Cannon....and MSP is his photographer ?
Ask him about Alan next time. DIdn't like the way they threw him out.
