Another cracking video Danny! Well done mate. You'd think the AYC pump corrosion problems would make a company devise some blanket/shield for it. I know you can get relocation kits, but I don't fancy cutting up lines and drilling my boot floor😂.
Yeah same mate. To be honest I don't know how quickly they failed from new but this seems to be an issue still on the Evo's after. I wouldn't be so bothered but its the cheek of the price of a brand new pump that's the shocker 😩
Hi I followed your video. If I understand, once overhauled does the pump reach 235 p.s.i.? But is this the original pump pressure? Thanks from Italy...
I've done exactly the same as you - fluid pumping out of hole where sensor would go before putting gauge in to make sure there's no airlock but then when i turn the motor on to build pressure it goes to 5 bar straight away and then stops...any ideas? thanks
very impressive videos mate.....love how you managed to rebuild a part of Evo's trade mark AYC tech ... my Evo has very low mileage I seem to be getting a Whine noise when i turn aggressively...could this been the pump or do I just need a fluid flush?
I think due to the cost of actually fixing them people would rather pretend they don't exist or take bulbs and fuses out. Everybody wants to own the pretty cars but forget the cost of maintaining them too 😎
The car is going to be coming up for sale. And for the price i want its piece of mind for the new owner. Its having new discs and pads all round too even though it doesn't really need them. These cars ain't cheap anymore and to demand top money these are the things you need to do pal 😎
No mate. As you still have to insure, maintain etc and to have it sat about for the next owner is silly. I've enjoyed the car over the past 3 years, sell it and put my money into something else 😎
Not an easy car to live with, but damn it's one of my top 3 car list!
😎😎😎
as said on facebook, very good video look forward to more
Cheers pal :)

Bloody good job mate
Thanks pal :)
Hope you can do a video on you doing the rear diff oil & gearbox.
I got AMD to do it while it was in for the timing belt mate 😎
Nice job mate, money saved and knowledge gained. You can start doing them for a living now sort everyone else's EVO'S out!
Got my mates booked in soon haha I just need time to recover from this one first haha :)
Bloode ell danny...
thought you had spilt your tomato soup....
when you were pressure testing it... :)
Interesting stuff..

The pump should run at between 15 and 20 psi 👍
Interesting content, also you gotta brake light out lol
I know ha 😁

I tried emailing you back Ed but it kept coming back as undeliverable 🙏
Good video mate when the next one on the astra gsi
Hopefully this week. 👌

That could be just a fluid flush mate. Give it a good bleed through as it sounds like air may be in the system mate 😎
@@projectfearn thanks for getting back to me projectfearn love your evo videos.. hope to see more of you and your evo 6!!
I've sold it pal. Went a few months ago 🥺
@@projectfearn nooo...! why mate still going up in price !!!scruffy ones now have asking price of 22k
The AYC System is arguably as neglected as the P/S system on a car. No wonder they fail. Rarely anyone checks them.
I think due to the cost of actually fixing them people would rather pretend they don't exist or take bulbs and fuses out. Everybody wants to own the pretty cars but forget the cost of maintaining them too 😎
@@projectfearn I've seen that all too many times. Wants the badge, but can't afford the maintenance.
Exactly so car becomes neglected and the next owner ends up with a lemon 🍋
I have 14 abs errors and occasionally the evo twists for a moment to the left while cruising. Wish me luck
That's a strange one pal 🤔
@@projectfearn the problem disappeared by itself! Car still going strong. Thanks for the clear concise videos
Mine next :)
😎
Why are you replacing timing belt again so soon ?

@@projectfearn fair enough ! you werent tempted to hold onto it for a bit longer so the price went up?

couple of lights out at the back mate ;)
😎
does evo 6 pump work on evo 8 ?
I don't think so pal 😎
Not an easy job Danny but not much is on older cars 🙈
It was horrific mate. But I would do another one much quicker and chilled now I know what to expect. 😎
1st comment!
🥳🥳🥳
Watch devin niemela most recent you tube he had exactly the same problem
Will have a look :)
