    Thanks for the video man, very helpful. Not sure why one person decided to dislike this... I guess they bought a new pump at the dealer

    I need to mention to everyone here, that you can in fact put the SS plate on wrong when reassembling and the middle housing can be put back on backwards too. Also make sure the chamfered slash hole is in the direction of the bigger end of SS plate "crescent" openings. And best advice is to mark all 3 housings with lines so when assembling you line. them back up.

    Great video, thanks. Can I ask you what is the oil? And is there any further bleeding when you fit the pump back to the car?

      It is a "normal" ATF, just one that fits the SP-3spec... Mitsubishi sells the dia queen AYC fluid... I usually use Motul Multi ATF. Yes, after installing the pump you need to bleed the system.. using mitsubishi service tool, or something like the tool I used to make (the one in this video)....

    Very nice effort uploading this_ Do we have to BLEED the pump and/or its lines till transfer case and rear diff. pistons, which engage or free the clutch packs, after 1) servicing the pump plate as you have shown or just simply after 2) changing our ATF pump fluid????
    (pump fluid is ATF, right?)

    I haven't tested my pump yet, so I don't know if it's problem is related to a mechanical failure. My quesiton is, can I remove my pump and plug off the line to the T-Case while I work on the pump? Can I test the pump when it's still on the car? I have an 09 Ralliart. It's very cold outside here and I need this car as my daily driver but I also need to have my pump repaired before the heavy snowfall.

  • @BilletBenny

    Great video. If you do this a lot save the time and put together a rig for a slide hammer. It'd save you all the unnecessary welding and grinding of stuff for facilitating removal.

    Is this a typical hydraulic circuit with a hydraulic pressure accumulator, electric pump, and actuators?
    Question: if the pump fails, will the differentials still work since it's an active differential?
    Imagine taking a hard corner and then suddenly realize the AWC isn't working...

    • @BilletBenny
      @BilletBenny 10 років тому

      It'll be fine. The controls only adjust bias of the differentials. Without any adjustment (aka pump failure) they would stay at their default torque bias.
      Yes it is a typical basic hydraulic circuit.

    Bib, you show the wave washer being on the motor side of the bearing seal. When I disassembled mine, the washer was on the pump side of the seal. It makes some sense that it would preload the bearing against the face of the seal. Mine may have been assembled wrong from the factory I suppose. Where should it be? Thank you

  • @EvolutionSev
    @EvolutionSev 11 років тому

    Does heavy corrosion and AYC/ACD Pump failure have to do with temperature and road conditions? I've been doing some research and most of the people who have this issue live in cold areas with salt on the roads during the winter.

    Hi, does the pump turn on when turning key to accessory, or does it only turn on during ignition?
    I want to try listening to it to see if its going bad.

    • @bibnakladnistvo
      @bibnakladnistvo  6 років тому +1

      no, it is turned on by the ACD ecu. On E8 and 9 you can turn it manually by pressing on the accelerator fully and turning the key to ON position... it should start after a few sec. Maybe better solution is to switch the pump on manually trough the pump relay, or unplug the pump motor connector and apply 12V directly..

    I've done exactly the same as you - fluid pumping out of hole where sensor would go before putting gauge in to make sure there's no airlock but then when i turn the motor on to build pressure it goes to 5 bar straight away and then stops...any ideas?

    • @bibnakladnistvo

  • @victoryan2671
    @victoryan2671 11 років тому

    Yes seems like its the motor, cause i couldn't manually activate it. I brought it to a electric shop, and they said the brushes are bad. And they are going to find parts for me. I will keep you update

  • @bibnakladnistvo
    @bibnakladnistvo  12 років тому

    YES, you have to bleed the system after servicing the pump. If you just change the ATF in the rear diff, then NO, no need for a bleed... However, if you want to change the ATF in the pump itself, then yes, you need to bleed the system as it is the best way to change the fluid...

    • @bibnakladnistvo

    There are two kits... the Toolkit, which consists of the powerbox for the pump motor and valves, and can be used for testing or bleeding the system + pressure gauge and adapter and some blanking plugs.
    Second is the repair kit, which consists of the new pump plate, all new O rings, Oil seal and bearing for the motor shaft, new bolts.The instructions... you are watching those.. :)
    Kit works for Evo 7/8/9, I need to check about 4/5/6, but for Evo 10 there will be another kit..

    • @bibnakladnistvo

      The plate and seals are the same on all pumps, it is just the bolts that are different in length. So you can always get the e789 kit and get the bolts separately. While I was producing the kits I used to have a separate kit for the X though..

    • @kevincandiloro9524
      @kevincandiloro9524 10 років тому

      Pretty sure you can use their test box to run the pump. Otherwise you can do it how he says in the video by holding the throttle down with the ignition on (engine not running) (Doesn't work on the Evo X).

      @kevincandiloro9524 10 років тому

      Kartyman550 Then I think you have to use the test kit in the video. Otherwise there's no way to run the pump to bleed the system. You can try looking up on some Evo forums though. Maybe there's a way to bleed without running the pump.

    • @Kartyman550
