Austin wrote it. He was fabulous. Darren Rust, the producer, played piano and Adam was on the synthesizer. Loved the lyrics. He and Tim write great songs! Good reaction Brad!🥰
The song is Austin telling his own story. So as he wanders through these people's lives, he tells us of his own experience. The message is a moving one, that love can spread to the world around you, and that love can save you (as Austin believes it has done for him) from despair. I like the fact that the young couple are not glamorous or wealthy in any way, telling us that you don't have to be a tenor with the voice of an archangel to find redemption in love.
In the live chat for the premiere, Austin (as Home Free) said: This song is really about Amberly. She gave me the patience and motivation to be a better man.
@@lrfcowper , I know about this one and Stargazer Lillies. I'm sure there are others I don't know about, but this is clearly one way he lets the world know how much he loves her.
@@kristindunstan172 Stargazer Lilies was my immediate favorite off the album or wonderful new faves. For every time I play through the CD (got it at their concert) that one get played 5 or 6 times.
Beautiful original. But then again, I didn't expect anything different from Home Free. No matter what song, what genre, who the lead singer is, it's always great.
12 of the 14 songs on the album this is from, So Long Dixie, are written by Tim and/or Austin, and friends, with the writer usually the main voice in the song. All of them are wonderful! Addition: Whoops! I just checked. This is the second video to come from this album. You reacted to the first one almost a month ago. Tim was the lead singer for What's Left of My Heart, which he co-wrote. They're the first and second, not counting the two older songs included on the CD: Everybody Walkin' This Land and Folsom Prison Blues.
Yes...Austin did seem to be The Arranger here. Austin wrote the song. Home Free are breaking out in so many different ways right now. One of these songs are gonna hit just right and get them on radio. Soon I think.
Not sure of the power of radio in these days of streaming. And once having called themselves "country", Home Free are unlikely ever to get anywhere near the real money or popularity. I don't know much about country music, but from what I've see it's just as controlled by major interests as pop is. You can be the king of YT and still not be able to make a living. Until the streaming companies get their feet off the necks of artists, you have to fit the mold.
I will just say I have a LOT of FAITH in these men. Will not be all pessimistic about them. They're evolving. They've been doing the same thing for decades. They're too creative to keep it the same, same, same. They're working their way past doing so many covers all the time. BTW, can't think of a cover I haven't loved.
This is an Austin Brown original. He wrote the song for his beautiful girlfriend Amberly. He sings with so much passion in every song he sings. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
This a top-tier pop song with a very relatable theme, & a virtuosic belting male lead vocal. I'll second Rob's tweet which proclaimed "Austin wrote a bop"! #BopConfirmed :) Why the f### is the likes of this not in the charts, rather than the rancid cynical bulls### that "the industry" injects into it? Good question. I recommend Mark Devlin's excellent book "Musical Truth" to anyone interested in looking into popular music being used as a mass-scale social engineering experiment. p.s. anyone bitching about use of a piano & some synth was never really a fan of the lads. #LetThemGrowFFS p.p.s. all the best from a random music appreciator in Dundee, Scotland. :)
Now i've got to find a copy of "Musical Truth"! Thanks for citing it! I don't know if you've heard "If I Met You Now" (another original by Austin on his channel). It's another beautiful song that I know won't get any air play.
It's just my opinion but I took it that Austin was the voice of the male character's consciousness and that's why Austin wasn't with the other people and would just vanish. I don't know if you noticed that he'd vanish from the truck as well. I think not just the song but the video is on a whole different psychological plane from their previous work. Thank you playing it!
P.S. - Have you watched the video for Austin's originals "If I Met You Now", "Off the Grid" or "Real Talk" on his channel? His writing is quite different from Tim's but they're both such good song writers.
This is 1 of 12 amazing songs (Austin Brown, Andrew Tufano wrote this one) cowritten by Austin or Tim on Home Free So Long Dixie album! My 3 favorites are 3, Stargazer Lilies, 2. Might As Well Be Me 1. Understand. Beautiful songwriting and vocals!
I would highly recommend Home Free's What Christmas Means to Me video from last year if you haven't reacted to it already. They are awesome as always and the video is hilarious.
Actually, I think the lyrics show him coming out of a dark place because of her influence. Yes, it's sad that he was in that place and thought those things, but the lyrics show him coming through that with her help.

Just Awesomeness…Thanx for your reaction👍🔥‼️🎶
Someone else with a faster reaction time than mine called this "Austin as guardian angel". Could be. You go, guys.
Sung by Home Free an Austin Brown original. Beautiful and haunting .
Heard it said that Austin himself said he wrote it about Amberly.

Beautiful lyrics.
Darren Rust played the piano and some are saying Adam used the synthesizer #HFSharpDressedManCover
Austin wrote the song himself for the group. Reminds me of Boys to Men.

Great message. Kinda sad lyrics.
It would have been really sad if he had jumped at the end. I think it's about the fact that she gave him a reason to keep on living.
