Thank you for making this video! My great grandma's Nikon F3 was recently given to me as a gift. I've wanted to shoot film for a while but was always unsure where to start (especially with the whole process). Definitely going to check out your channel more!
What an amazing garage sale scoop that was 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Trouble is, we now expect a Super 8 upload here very soon 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I admire your determination and renewed passion for film. But in my experience, this day and age, unless the scanning process is next to perfect, you will struggle to monetize (especially as a beginner).
I know right! I was really excited for to find a super 8! It may take me a while to get that set up, but I hope I'm able to. I'm sure this will be an uphill battle, but I think it will be enjoyable too - I think there's stills some solid interest in it, so hopefully more stocks become available too
I love shooting films, but man, those film stocks are really expensive nowadays. Kodak Gold 200 and Ultramax 400, doubled in price compare to few years ago (pre-pandemic).
Yeah, it's not ideal for the prices, but if I shoot about a roll every one or two weeks, then the cost doesn't pile up too much - for me most of the cost is in the development stage, so hopefully I can get better at that myself.
@@OllyKing In my place, the price of development by lab is pretty cheap actually about $3/roll (for dev + scan). Probably the increase in people using film again, recently, help keep the price under control (at least on the lab that I regularly use). But not sure, how long it'll last though.
@@dhavidcg That's insane. For me, it starts at ~$17 US and easily goes up above $40 if you want prints and good scans, not including shipping. To say I am jealous is an understatement. Let's hope the prices here fall soon 😆
What helped you most as a beginner in film?
Great informative video for everyone starting experimenting with film. Keep it up!
Great video for new shooters! Well done. Also... Albertan detected - subscribed!
Aw yeah another Albertan haha!

That's awesome! I like the design of the F3, very good one for getting into film. Hope you have some fun with it!
I love your channel and I’m also new to film photography so I hope i can learn a lot watching your videos, thank you.
Thanks for the kind words - I’ll definitely be learning as I go, so I hope you appreciate the mistakes haha
