"Twilight written in the runes of crones
Freya weeps upon her golden throne"
Awesome Song, Awesome Lyrics
Damn the live version sounds so good and crisp
I could totally imagine Ozzy singing this and it sounding just as good.
Saw and heard these guys for the first time when they opened up for CLUTCH in Redding PA a couple years ago and have been hooked ever since....
Man, these fucking guys know what they're doing. That song should have been a hit on the radio. Definitely one of the best bands of the 00's, and one of the best in metal today.
This band is so underated its ridiculous.
I love The Sword, their style, their flow and Simplicity!! They're like one of the few Metal Bands that sound Just as amazing live as they do in the studio
Great song.. and excellent job on recording the live performance. this is really good quality for a live performance recording...
the drummer is an animal! i love the way he beats the shit of his kit. ALL WILL FALL
I have these guys as my friends on my bands myspace....the modern day Sabbath!
Balls to the wall rockin' music!
When I first heard Freya on Guitar Hero II I thought that The Sword was some late 70's/early 80's band that I had just never heard of...but then I searched for them in Music on MySpace and whaddaya know...I have a new favorite band!
Wow this comment is old
Theyre a sick band, i saw them live a few days ago with down and metallica. EPIC!!!
I'm going to see them at Slim's in SF on the 19th! It's going to be awesome!
Wow these guys are seriously underrated. I've listened to a few of their songs and I like them very much
I saw these guys open for clutch last year - fucking awesome band! Go see both of them!!
this awesome...real music..for all you youngters that is called groove.....thanks for posting i missed the show in atl
WOW. I saw this band on public television last night, or this morning rather, at like 4 AM, insomnia as never sounded so good, or been so rewarding
They've been out there forever, Mastodon and The Sword are just the first two to get any real recognition.
WOW I now have even more respect for the drummer I didn't know he used his ride as a crash ride wtfff props bro
GREAT SONG
Freya forever!
The singer is awesome
I just saw these guys open up for Motorhead in Austin at the SXSW Fest... They kicked ass... I had never heard of them before.
I agree with englandsk8err. Epic jam!!! The Sword kicks so much ass!!!!
Such an AWESOME BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome song!
the sword saved my life
live long rock and roll
That is awesome! That's the greatest metaphorical saying used to describe anything in the history of metal music!
Rockin'!! Can't wait to see these guys play in Glasgow. Oh yaaaassss!!!
great band
I dig it. Gonna have to find their album(s).
Haha brandnew1331 you can tell this was one of the shows where they opened for priestess because of the richtone stack behind him not turned on. Richtone amps are both Mikey Hepnner and Dan Watchorn of priestess amp of choice J.D. from the sword bounces inbetween laney and orange amps.
im hella seeing them December 11th when they open for Lamb of God.Fawk Yaw!
definatly agree with you 100%.
This band is da fucking bomb!!
Truly awesome guitar music!
Saw these guyz in Chicago not too long ago, it'd be cool if them, Clutch and DOWN toured! (Not sure if there's enuff herb in the state for that show..:)
I agree with Gatamatrix, this is a timeless classic! Top tune
I like to describe their music as "epic jams!"
Man, its so nice to see some of the older style of metal still alive today in such a fucking kickass band. Love the singers voice, real garage-band-like =P
mind blowing
the rest of the class!
I hope these guys put out another record, they were great live and really good players. yeah.
golden!

Fucking Crazy! Renewal of Black Sabbath's style and I love it.
Kind of sounds like Kyuss too. Good stuff!
Epic riff. \m/

Welcome to Texas, Where great Metal is made!
Hard Core!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahh this fucking kills it. fuck YEAH!
i was at this concert!!!!! i live hella close to the bay
nice and easy rockin, I like it, very smooth
one reviewer said, its like pushing a herd of bison over a cliff
At least they try!!! There trying to keep the metal spirit alive!!! Now, I love the Sword and I'm hopefully seeing them this January with this girl (BAM haha)!! But I think they succeed in keeping Metal alive, and they are trying to make it more mainstream, which I support to the fullest!
Smells like C.O.C. - Fuck Yeah !!!
Simple original riffs. Great song...
These guys play like I play air guitar lol...guitar rock hopefully never dies.
this is pretty heavy
Killer!
Holy shit, this is excellent quality...and it's at SF 12 galaxies the show I wish I would have gone to. DId you film this yourself? please I have to connect with you.
2:38 Mosh!
A good mosh!
"why don't you guys play something heavy?" - LOL - these guys ROCK...killer tune
The drummer for the band, Trivett Wingo, used to be my Latin teacher in High School. How many people can say that...?
Finally some young kids playing REAL MUSIC!!
looks like these guys walked in off the street. THIS is a gritty band.
nice BC Rich!!!!!!!
Great song Also in GH2 its crazy...:p
GUITAR HERO!!!!!
nice to be from austin c;
Muito bomm issooo!!!!
It was Joel Zumaya on the Tigers
the beggining sounded just like the studio version
reminds me of the black keys
Oh Man! SUPERBAND!!
and even if it was pretend,it´s fuckin badass!!
yeah
@MeetTheCryptid well it may look like a BC Rich, but it is a Gibson man, i saw a close up picture of that exact same guitar one time and it said Gibson on the neck, plus all The Sword plays with are Gibson's lol
yep
Favourite band hands down, JD always sounds better when he has to yell a bit and im surprised wingo's even wearing a shirt, thats first, these guys are way better live, my only complaint is that they have been taking forever to release warp riders.
Hail to kickass old school metal \m/\m/. Death to the core crap.
lol HASH THRASH! kick ass song, reminds me f Corrosion of Conformity.
i agree
goin to see cluth + sword on 5th apr in glasgow.
eat me... im good.
OMG this is the shit man i mean this is the kind of music you would to hear as you charge into battle
this is funk
NYC show last night was FIRE. I got cracked in the nose, but its ok.
@englandsk8err This song makes you head bang, regardless of if you want to or not!! Very Metal!! \m/
that guy is so Iommi-ish
Badass song
I love how they don't have any facny light show or pyro technincs or costumes, it's just the music standing on its own.
DA SBARLLARE!!
If these guys suck, then "the downfall of us all" by "A Day to Remember" has the coolest intro ever.
it sounds like SABBATH! HOLY FUCK!
Yeah, it sounds just like the song on the album.
wow...sabbath anyone? i mean that with the most respect!
