I saw Thursday and Every Time I Die basically in a warehouse with a dirt floor in 2003 and they rocked it so hard. I still listen to Full Collapse at least once a week and have since I was a Junior in HS in 2001. They are an amazing band.
@@jimmygee3219 Crap, i had to do some quick math lol. I was a freshman 98-99, it WAS 2001 when I was a junior. I was sure I was a junior but got the year wrong...
Love it takes me back to 2001! This song/album came out shortly after losing a close friend in a horrible accident and i still to this day go right back there in time in my mind everytime I hear it! Not just that negative sad memory but a reminder of all the good times I spent with this friend growing up together! Great song and anyone who knows it I’m sure can somewhat relate to what I am trying to say, take care everyone!
I thought this was just a small dinky field show until I saw 0:57. Really glad to see these guys can still play to a sea of people nearly 20 years later.
I never heard of Thursday until Geoff joined up with the ex Lostprophets guys to form No Devotion. They were never played on the radio or TV here. Yet I feel as if I missed out on a lot because they are absolutely incredible. Gawd I wish I knew about them in the 00's!
No album will ever top Full Collapse. You want to talk about a band that was on the forefront of a movement, look no further. No doubt nostalgia is inextricable from our opinions, but this band nailed it before many others and were bridge builders....that being said partying on division street in college myself and “dying in New Brunswick” on a nightly basis is the nail in the coffin.
Agreed, but Thursday was much more than being "on the forefront of a movement." That's great and all, sure, but won't stand the test of time on its own. Where Thursday accomplishes that is in the incredibly poetic lyrics and the perfect music to evoke the right emotions backing them up. This band could have done *any* genre and become a treasure.
In my mind, the evolution is: The Shape of Punk to Come -> Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence -> Relationship of Command -> Full Collapse -> Illusion of Safety -> Alexisonfire -> Translating the Name, with Thursday being one of the first bands to really start off with that style, instead of starting off as traditional punk and eventually evolving into it.
This is facts. I was a full collapse fan at at lauch. Listened to everyone subsequent album afterwards and wasnt impressed. 10 years later listened to all post Full Collapse albums and they still dont compare.
I think War All the Time topped it by a large margin, honestly. Their song writing, and sound matured exponentially between that time. Full Collapse is a fantastic nostalgia listen, but when I look back on it, I can see why teenage me was blown away, and why adult me can find the flaws I never noticed. That screaming at the end of "Cross Out the Eyes" makes me cringe now, honestly haha. I return to War a lot more overall, and certain songs of Full Collapse.
Miss you cuz. It’s taken more time than I thought to let go. 9 years this June. I-96 racing days will for ever hold a place in my heart. Goodbye for now brother.
If you look into that era of music...thursday wasn't anything close to emo bands. They were good enough to be distinguished apart from Atreyu/taking back Sunday/ Thrice/ The Used...etc. There were too many actual garbage emo bands to mention.
This version is better than the original recording. The way they're tired, seem to lose the song, pick it up again.. AMAZING. since they never done a show in Europe never got a chance to see them preform on stage.. a shame.
Fucking Geoff is a maniac! Love these guys and was so hyped I got to meet them at the Starland in Jersey. Great guys and they even played us songs from A City By Light Divided before it ever came out. Best concert I ever saw.
The sound of a time when we had so many friends we lost count..mobs of us drinkin beers makin asses outta ourselves, much wonder and unawareness in us thinkin we got it all figured out😂😂
yeah I wish they played more recent stuff from the recent shows, but I understand why they didn't. I love it's mature sound and cerebral lyrics. It's much more mature, and it grew with me.
I disagree, It's between Full Collapse or Waiting. City By The Light Divided was an ok album. War All The Time wasnt horrible but wasnt great at the same time.
I love this song and consider it a masterpiece in its genre. The hard truth though is that these bands (including bands like Taking Back Sunday, Brand New etc) were never really great live.
They upped the tempo too much here. I want to like Thursday live, but I can't find a performance that has ever wowed me. I remember finding a live performance of War All the Time, and Geoff was so out of key that I couldn't continue listening. If anyone has any good live suggestions, let me know.
You have to listen to them in person. They play so damn loud that it makes the recordings of all the videos online sound shitty, and thin. Their full live album versions of Full Collapse and War All the Time on spotify sound way closer to real life.
Haha love the intro. I HATE HATE HATE emo. I think it killed rock. It destroyed what I loved about music. But there are some guilty pleasure emo songs. This song isn't a guilty pleasure. I like this with no adjectives
These guys weren't played on the radio or had much exposure because they weren't some watered down pvssy band. I don't judge how good a band is by radio play or sales, because thats not what makes a band great, if it was then Justin beiber, and all those other crappy pop stars would be great. Lol
Legend says he’s still feeling this way forever
Ha! 😂
Rofl!
He doesn't want to, though.
Loooool
But he doesn't want to.
This reminds me of the youth i lost……nothing like jamming Thursday with a house full of friends playing beer pong. What a time to be alive!
Imagine the hell of not having already grown up and trying to be a kid now tho bud
Agreed. It’s deff a different time!!
incredibly jealous, would have loved to have friends to listen to thursday with while playing beer pong! such a sick band
you just took me back... those were the days
This band was one of the first bands that inspired me to write music. Such nostalgia.

@@mskcrc Oh, I'm all death metal now
Geoff swinging tha microphone like it's 2001 still! Lmao
Hahaha keep swinging that mic. This song is still amazing in 2019.
Dude is a full blown rockstar! Gotta get that energy out instead of switching it to using!!!
I imagine him swinging too high one day and it crashes into the floor or ceiling lol. "Sorry folks, let's try that one again!"
Legend has it he’s still swinging
I like this comment hahaha
It's what you call PRIME not faded!
Call them emo or whatever, they made this classic song. Great post hardcore band.
Ppl who live in those appartments get free concerts! Lol
Fuck yeah
It must feel really good for them to be living biological creatures next to that positive stress. :)

This might be unpopular, but I think War All the Time is slightly better.
