My husband attended one of Juliens seminars in Dallas 5 or 6 yrs ago.
The man that went into the room was not the same that came out. He was changed and while the next 2 years were
Rough for him on working to continue to do the shadow work he can tell you it was needed. He is relived of his trauma with his father. That has opened so many doors for him.
    Glad he attended.

I was a child of prostitution. My mother had me at 14. I shut those feelings off, too. I equate it as holding grains of sand in my hand and then it eventually ran out. I, too, envied those with parents. They have no idea what they have even if it’s just one parent. I sometimes explain to others when you say the word mother or father, there is a feeling behind it. To me, it’s just a word, no different than the article “the”.
There is nothing we can do to ever have those bonds. I can only hope to create what I think it feels like. My child will know what a father is like, but I won’t know that feeling, personally. I have accepted that, too and am at peace. I’m glad you found yours.
      I understand your feelings.

Everytime I practice shadow work I find myself crying my heart out. Is crying a way of letting go? Or there's something else I need to do in order to let go of all of my suppressed emotions? Sometimes after I cry I feel relieved but most of the times I feel drained and more sad, and these feelings stay with me for days. Am I missing something or this is normal when doing this type of practice?

We think we're going to explode and destroy everything and everyone.
But I've found that what comes up first is the grief. The grief that you were not loved or respected.
This can be intense, but does shift the rage somewhat, as the anger often just masks our deep sense of loss.
Of course there is anger to be released too and it's not comfortable.
But the healing begins when your raw, tender heart is acknowledged.. and the deep primal wound felt on a deep inner level.
      It's okay .. it's a delicate and gradual process.
      Sending you love! ❤️

Maybe, just maybe, dad was trying for years to see you and your mother wouldn't let him so before you were five he killed himself. Maybe, probably, your dad thinks about you every day. Maybe he doesn't know you exist. Is that his fault? What does it accomplish to project all this negativity on him? It destroys your self esteem. That's rule one. Never trash a persons parent.
