Andy Stogsdill Song is well put together like all their work. Never get the credit they deserve. I love all types of heavy music. From Metal, Prog, Hardcore, DJent Melodic death and everything in between. Soilwork might have the best discography of any band.

yeah I totally agree about in flames, they used to have the upper hand on soilwork, oh how the times have changed. I seen in flames for the 7th time last summer with all that remains and although it was a great musical show, Anders was definitely struggling with screams, but then I think of how long he has been doing it and give him some credit. I will always be a in flames fan, but it hurts to listen to most of their new material.

    • @Polti2

same here, both bands will always have a special place on my playlist;) saw in flames 3 weeks ago, had kind of the same impression of anders; his clean singing however was on spot!

I love this song,... this entire album. Interesting enough, other soil work albums, not so much, The Ride Majestic is a fantastic album. There is something about every single song on the album that works with every other song. I listen to this at least three times a week (the album). This is by far my favorite song though. I have to agree the video is not the way I would have imagined it, but If you interpret the lyrics as Actual death and DEATH as tarot (new beginnings/forced starts) then the video makes perfect sense. The lyrics make you think of a possible suicide also, or loss though some other endevour by the other person, Also the song mentions geraniums,....pink geraniums are used in love spells, making the lyric extra interesting...since we are already bringing the occult into the mix with the video's use of Tarrot. For those who read lyrics, as far as metal goes this band has GREAT LYRICS in their songs. ((shrugs)). I dig em.
Here are the Lyrics for those who never flipped through TRM when they got the CD.
You went out of reach as quick as the setting sun
Nowhere else you could have gone
Still geraniums whispered your name that night
There was no one there who'd give you up
We all see changes, but how the cut runs deep
    A shadow approaching
Your pain is common, it's like lament on repeat
    How about driving souls apart
    Like death in general
It's bound to shatter what you know
    'Cause pain is nothing
Recalling the way we used to dance
Through gutters all built in distress
    I still mourn
The days turned into strangers as soon as your light moved on
Infinity burned my fingers, one last look and then you're gone
The wold crashing down on the innocent
The sky opening up for the truth
Your were carried with honor and fiery eyes
Into unknown dominions where hearts reunite
Sail on... My flash in the night
    How about driving souls apart
    Like death in general
It's bound to shatter what you know
    Cause pain is nothing
Recalling the way we used to dance
Through gutters all built in distress
    I still mourn
    The wind, the touch
    The zenith, the iris
    The never let go...
    (Solo: Andersson)
We all see changes but how the cut runs deep
    A shadow approaching
Your pain is common, it's like lament on repeat
    How about driving souls apart
    Like death in general
It's bound to shatter what you know
    'Cause pain is nothing
Recalling the way we used to dance
Recalling the last dance, my friend...

The entire album kind of revolves around loss as Björn lost his grandmother as they were working on it. The title itself is a reference how his last memory with his grandma was cruising in a cadillac (hence the ride majestic). There is a ton of symbolism there.

There was something about the mix of this cd I wasn't into. I think Stabbing the drama has some of the loudest drums in all their records, but overall everything was loud about that cd. Even the Living Infinite had a great mix. When I was listening to this cd, the vocals seem louder and the guitars seem to blend with drums.

I think the last two Soilwork videos have been very tongue in cheek. I see a humor in them that stems from a bunch of dudes who are just having fun. they definitely don't take themselves too seriously and I like that. it's refreshing to see amongst a genre that can be a bit pretentious sometimes.

Oh yes Soilwork. It's one of those rare bands I discovered during my boyhood and who never left me ever since. There are very few. They're getting better with time, it feels like they're growing with me.
To me their best albums are The Panic Broadcast, The Living Infinite (which is their absolute masterpiece to me) and The Ride Majestic.
Even if I don't listen to them for a few months they always come back to me. Huge props to them, and extremely proud to see a french bloke like me being in the best Melodic Death Metal band in the world !

In this video its fake... what you hear are actual electric guitars. But to still answer your question there would be two ways to do it. First is to buy acoustic guitars with pickups... there are some few out there but that would also be fake somehow since its then just an electric guitar that looks like an acoustic guitar.... second would be to record your acoustic guitar with a largediaphragm condenser microphone and compute the distortion on pc with as an example amplitube... this works quite well (when everything around you is quiet) but its quite hard to play while listening to the distorted since the latency is a tiny bit higher than normally plugged... I would recommend to mute it while playing so that you hear yourself just playing acoustic and just record the distorted sound and listen afterwards how it came out...
the end product sounds quite similar to an electric guitar but of course the quality of a plugged e-guitar sounds a bit more clear (but less difference in quality than I expected before I tried...)
