R.I.P. David. A great musician gone way too soon.
"So what kinda metal do you listen to the most?"
"Oh, ya know, death in general."
Well Said.
Andy Stogsdill Song is well put together like all their work. Never get the credit they deserve. I love all types of heavy music. From Metal, Prog, Hardcore, DJent Melodic death and everything in between. Soilwork might have the best discography of any band.
not trying to be a dick or anything (like soilwork alot and all), but have you ever heard Opeth?
Jon It's all about taste, I listen to both and I preffer Soilwork over Opeth. (love them both to death)
LMAO
Björns vocal performance on this entire album is insane. Kudos
Definitely one of my favorite vocalists in metal
I have the living infinite signed by all of them, a tour poster signed, a signed photograph with Markus!, and a flag from their site, and like 3 soilwork shirts. I fucking love this god damn band.
Awesome 👍
Sweeeeeet!
I like how every new album of them feels different from the last one. Awesome song!
+Estephaano This is so true :)
That's why they and Metallica are my favorite 2 bands
I miss Dirk:( but man soilwork never stops pumping out the amazing tunes and keeping their style fresh
Legends. Rest easy, David.
Can't help but laugh at the title. It's like it is saying "this is a Metal band, you get the idea"
Nu metal....
Still can't get over how amazing you guys are
oh damn, this was filmed like 10 miles from my house! Soilwork is just incredible 🤘
Where Is this placer? Looks like the deserts from the North of México, south of Texas
My all time favorite. What a composition!
I've just lost a good friend, and I've been listening to this song over and over again. The lyrics are beautiful and meaningful. Thank you Soilwork for making this.
Ever since i first heard "The ride majestic" i had a feeling this album would be awesome, and i'm not disapointed at all :)
Their best
I've been listening to this song since day one and it never fails to make me tear up.
Their previous album and this one are their best. Much more refined sound and varied melodies. Soilwork is at the top of their game at the moment.
+BloodyHawk39 Don't get me wrong, I like many songs of those albums, but for me nothing comes close to A Predator's Portrait and Natural Born Chaos!
+BloodyHawk39 In Flames on the other hand....:(
oh boy, they used to be so good...
yeah I totally agree about in flames, they used to have the upper hand on soilwork, oh how the times have changed. I seen in flames for the 7th time last summer with all that remains and although it was a great musical show, Anders was definitely struggling with screams, but then I think of how long he has been doing it and give him some credit. I will always be a in flames fan, but it hurts to listen to most of their new material.
same here, both bands will always have a special place on my playlist;) saw in flames 3 weeks ago, had kind of the same impression of anders; his clean singing however was on spot!
I absolutely love Soilwork's music. I saw this and it must not have hit my radar. These guys are soooo good, versatile and incredibly talented. Legendary band.
This album is pure bliss. Death in General is just too good 👍 solid shit
"Through gutters all built in distress I still mourn"
Epic line...
One of my favorites songs from the new album which FREAKIN' RULES!!!! \m/
I love this song,... this entire album. Interesting enough, other soil work albums, not so much, The Ride Majestic is a fantastic album. There is something about every single song on the album that works with every other song. I listen to this at least three times a week (the album). This is by far my favorite song though. I have to agree the video is not the way I would have imagined it, but If you interpret the lyrics as Actual death and DEATH as tarot (new beginnings/forced starts) then the video makes perfect sense. The lyrics make you think of a possible suicide also, or loss though some other endevour by the other person, Also the song mentions geraniums,....pink geraniums are used in love spells, making the lyric extra interesting...since we are already bringing the occult into the mix with the video's use of Tarrot. For those who read lyrics, as far as metal goes this band has GREAT LYRICS in their songs. ((shrugs)). I dig em.
Here are the Lyrics for those who never flipped through TRM when they got the CD.
You went out of reach as quick as the setting sun
Nowhere else you could have gone
Still geraniums whispered your name that night
There was no one there who'd give you up
We all see changes, but how the cut runs deep
A shadow approaching
Your pain is common, it's like lament on repeat
How about driving souls apart
Like death in general
It's bound to shatter what you know
'Cause pain is nothing
Recalling the way we used to dance
Through gutters all built in distress
I still mourn
The days turned into strangers as soon as your light moved on
Infinity burned my fingers, one last look and then you're gone
The wold crashing down on the innocent
The sky opening up for the truth
Your were carried with honor and fiery eyes
Into unknown dominions where hearts reunite
Sail on... My flash in the night
How about driving souls apart
Like death in general
It's bound to shatter what you know
Cause pain is nothing
Recalling the way we used to dance
Through gutters all built in distress
I still mourn
The wind, the touch
The zenith, the iris
The never let go...
(Solo: Andersson)
We all see changes but how the cut runs deep
A shadow approaching
Your pain is common, it's like lament on repeat
How about driving souls apart
Like death in general
It's bound to shatter what you know
'Cause pain is nothing
Recalling the way we used to dance
Recalling the last dance, my friend...

Cheers for sharing. *The Living Infinite* is *fantastic* BTW.
The entire album kind of revolves around loss as Björn lost his grandmother as they were working on it. The title itself is a reference how his last memory with his grandma was cruising in a cadillac (hence the ride majestic). There is a ton of symbolism there.
Wow, another absolutely amazing Soilwork tune.
love it from JAPAN
Me gustó mucho la canción,potente y la voz armoniosa
one of the greatest songs ever written
Björns clean vocals really got great since he was mentored by Devin
Soilwork - so good
Until watching this video, I didn't know what Sweden looks like
How about driving souls apart
Like death in general
It's bound to shatter what you know
'Cause pain is nothing
Recalling the way we used to dance
Recalling the last dance, my friend
Song: Brilliant
Videoclip: Kind of weird vibe.
amazing song and an amazing album overall you guys.
sup Flug

+Flugmorph I am Cas_Lateralus.
+Flugmorph who u bitch
the concert yesterday was awesome
Awesome, one of the best bands
Thank you, awesome track.
Björn's almost got a head like an orange. I am delighted.
Been waiting so long for this video!
better video than Enemies in Fidelity... haha I love this song!
Now make a video for Whirl of Pain, thank you! :-)
Sweeds in a desert lol
Damn, climate change it is already taking its toll over Sweden´s landscape XD
I believe this was shot in the US
Seriously underrated comment.
@@KevinTheMetalhead Are you sure? I'd swear this was in the Antarctic.
The venus project rules, Jacque Fresco was the most brillant man alive... so sad he passed away
sweden's starting to look like the mojave
Thanks for your new video, guys!!!
I really like the video; it's completely different to the images I had in my head while listening to the song obviously but it's nice to see concepts visualized. Good job.
Hi then
I've waited since 2008 to see you guys, and now on Graspop this Friday, i'll finally see you!
Holy shit...!
How did I not notice this one before?
Good Movie!
Great Song!
My Favorite Band!
What Can I Say...
There was something about the mix of this cd I wasn't into. I think Stabbing the drama has some of the loudest drums in all their records, but overall everything was loud about that cd. Even the Living Infinite had a great mix. When I was listening to this cd, the vocals seem louder and the guitars seem to blend with drums.
A new soilwork is awaken at this song :)
Well done. I like it, and the song is absolutely amazing.
A band that still cool after Nu Metal era.
Greetings from Thailand!!
👍
Oh boys, that's a bit of your tender side! Cracking new album. Now come back to England and do a proper tour, please!
At the end of 2023 I still feel it like masterpiece!
love this band
This reminds me of Departure Plan, good to hear this at the beginning of the week.
I just got a hold of my late father's acoustic guitar, so help me I will learn how to play and cover this song one day. This song helped me get through his passing last Halloween.
Fucken love Dirk!!!
Man, that Dirk guy looks so familiar. Lol
Megadeth
I love this song (my favorite of the new Album).
But i simply don't get the Story behind the music video. :(
I think the last two Soilwork videos have been very tongue in cheek. I see a humor in them that stems from a bunch of dudes who are just having fun. they definitely don't take themselves too seriously and I like that. it's refreshing to see amongst a genre that can be a bit pretentious sometimes.
I love the video place and location so good to see the nature and the beauty woman
I needed this. :)
Oh yes Soilwork. It's one of those rare bands I discovered during my boyhood and who never left me ever since. There are very few. They're getting better with time, it feels like they're growing with me.
To me their best albums are The Panic Broadcast, The Living Infinite (which is their absolute masterpiece to me) and The Ride Majestic.
Even if I don't listen to them for a few months they always come back to me. Huge props to them, and extremely proud to see a french bloke like me being in the best Melodic Death Metal band in the world !
Wish I could hear this song with their noughties style production. That would be awesome
AMAZING
Anyone else waiting for part 3 of the Light the Torch story?
Amazing song
i love this song
Amazing!
best band on this planet
One of them, yes
The song is great, but this video looks like a b-roll for an actual video.
Så jävla bra musik alltid.
I will never not find it funny when guitarists pretend to play an electric part in a video with an acoustic guitar.
+tmvk97 I would be very interested to hear the acoustic version of those riffs lol
+Unfortunately Rob actually, that would be interesting, now that I think about it.
I always thought it was hilarious how hard some of these guys go on the keys lol just thrashing around but their fingers are kind of just tapping around the same spot. Love the sound, just think it's funny.
cisu polte
Listen to Alias by In Flames, they made an acoustic sound with an eletric guitar
mto bom!
GREAT VIDEO THIS TIME!
Great song
1 minute and 42 seconds in I was prepared to exit the video but then shit got real . Good job guys .
this is the least nerdy dressing metal band I have come across in an epic youtube metal rabbit hole
Setting is due to the Western elements. The slow, crooning intro, slide effect. Nice
Legendary !
I wish he could be on a Borknagar song. It would be absolutely amazing.
I love soilwork, but definitely prefer to watch them live than in this video.
Barely a melodeath track as the progressive elements seep in and I absolutely love it
Liquid Metal played Ride Majestic alot but not this or the new one. They should be on the devil's dozen. Long live Soilwork. They can write songs better than almost anyone.
SOILWORK ♥
When you break your finger but then realize it's okay because your listening to soil work.
My neighbors love this song so much they threw a brick through my window so they could hear it better ;)
The video doesn't give the song or subject justice but I love the location
Одна из немногих групп, которая с годами только лучше
For those of you complaining about the guitarists playing acoustics in the video, you're not understanding the video.
Man I had such fond memories of The Panic Broadcast, The Living Infinite, and The Ride Majestic. Last decade was too fucking short.
A moment of self realization..."What am I doing in this desert of my life"
I've been to this place, but nothing beats when I saw them play in a tiny room after The Living Infinite.
SO FUCKING AWESOME SONG¡¡
Gojira and Soilwork have become my favorite bands, right up there with Cannibal Corpse, Belphegor and Aeon.
Aeon yeeeuuuss
cadê os br minha gente?
Holy fuck great badass band already telling people about them
Soil work I think you are so good I to play guitar but with this virus it is hard to look for a guitar teacher around here I had a good won and I played my heart out but he was pashant with me to play those cool songs soil work maby I can see you guys play if you are in town if this virus cows away soon Alex
Video and audio are not well synced..
badass! really!
So glad soil work hasn't turned into a bunch of hipsters like in flames
can someone help how can get that distortion on acoustic guitar please respond
That part of the video is wrong, it s an electric guitar
In this video its fake... what you hear are actual electric guitars. But to still answer your question there would be two ways to do it. First is to buy acoustic guitars with pickups... there are some few out there but that would also be fake somehow since its then just an electric guitar that looks like an acoustic guitar.... second would be to record your acoustic guitar with a largediaphragm condenser microphone and compute the distortion on pc with as an example amplitube... this works quite well (when everything around you is quiet) but its quite hard to play while listening to the distorted since the latency is a tiny bit higher than normally plugged... I would recommend to mute it while playing so that you hear yourself just playing acoustic and just record the distorted sound and listen afterwards how it came out...
the end product sounds quite similar to an electric guitar but of course the quality of a plugged e-guitar sounds a bit more clear (but less difference in quality than I expected before I tried...)
I'm pretty sure he was just kidding lol
This had to of been filmed in Arizona.. I can't think of anywhere else with desert like that! :D
+John Rankin California/Nevada/New Mexico/Mexico? ;)
+John Rankin California - Joshua Tree National Park brother
+Adam Falla You are absolutely correct. They went on to shoot this video the day after they played the Whisky right after their US tour.
Nice
Underrated song
