  • Large Abandoned Retro House Stuck in the 70's. Explore #91
I noticed this abandoned house a couple of years ago while out looking around for abandoned places. This place has been abandoned for about 4 years now. To be honest I didn't really think it would be to interesting inside. Oh was I wrong! I noticed ‪@ethanminnie‬ explored this house so I had to return and check it out. This house was stuck in the 70's. The flooring, light fixtures, switch plates, stairs, bathrooms and kitchen looks original from when the house was first built. It even had a sauna in the basement. There was also a lot of stuff left behind here and as most of you know this is such a bonus for me when exploring. When items are left behind it kind of tells me what kind of people lived in the house before it was abandoned. A developer bought up a few properties in this area and will be building over 50 Townhouses.

    About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.

Absolutely true! I thought the same throughout the entire video.
The genuine respect he has for the locations he films makes me have that much more respect for him. Unlike other explorers I’ve seen.
Such as Being gentle and closing doors he’s opened. It makes a difference!
      Great video Brent!

Although the styling of the fittings is dated, I did oddly like the retro feel of it. Besides the roof being in a bad state and being the precursor to leaks and large scale rot, the rest of the house was not in terrible shape. It felt lived in, served its purpose and probably had some stories in it. That unfinished or damaged remote controlled plane (you found the remote in another room) reminded me of a gift my cousins got decades ago when they were young.
It speaks to a bygone era of a middle class family to me despite the stairs with the gaps. I remember that growing up too in the one house cousins stayed in for a time.

My in-law's home was built in the 70's, too, and they upgraded a lot but the parquet floors, the light switch covers, the mirrored closet doors, the shell sinks are all things my in-laws still have in their home!! I couldn't believe how many similarities there were!! Nice job filming and punching, too!! Stay safe

Brings back memories of when I was a young kid in the 70s. I remember family and friends having houses with those types of fixtures and articles. Love it, too bad it will be torn down. Roof repaired, some remodeling, there’s plenty of life left in that house. Thanks for the tour. Cheers from the US

Beautiful house Brent, somebody at some point way back when ,put some money into that place, with the Sauna and stuff in the basement, love the woodwork all through it, the downstairs oven was a little odd though, and the black bathroom fixtures, but, yeah, great place and nice to see that's not vandalized it's a shame if they do knock the place down, because with a little bit of money it wouldn't take much to bring it back, gonna buy you a Ko-Fi , stay safe, catch you on the next one

Looked like late 70s to me...not a stranger to those " open windows"in walls as my father-in-law did that to a few places too. The basement was an odd fit. The place seemed clean and almost livable, the rough basement was a surprise! Nice change, thanks for the tour. ☺

The extra oven in the basement might be because the owner was Italian. Some Italian families have an extra kitchen in the basement for when the weather's hot, and if they used the main floor kitchen, it would heat up the whole house.

Outside of the kitchen, which you could easily knock that wall down and make a real sized kitchen, this house is perfect as is in my opinion. Painting ain't no thing, as it definitely needs that. Unfortunately some of the parquet is coming up. The fixtures are sweet, the parquet floors are amazing. That sun room is perfect. Watching from 🇬🇧 this house needs saving still in pretty good shape to be honest.

Lovely retro house, looks a lot like the places I grew up in the 70's. The oven in the basement is weird, I guess they entertained a lot? Those bottles of Aunt Gemima syrup in the fridge is a crime against good taste in Canada... fake maple syrup will get one hung, drawn and gnawed by angry beavers. :)

Hi Brent!... Boy, you do a great job exploring abandoned locations! I have a number of explorers that I follow on UA-cam, and you are my favorite. I was born and raised in Ohio, so I was geographically close to Canada, and have always been in love with that country. I live on the Gulf Coast now, South of Mobile, Alabama. Well you take care my friend, and keep those great videos that you produce, coming. Your Southern friend... Chuck

lots of hideous wallpaper and tile work in this one! Being born in the 60's, the weird decorating of the 70's is not something I miss! LOL In my childhood home (built in the 60's) we had one complete wall in the living room floor to ceiling covered in gold crackle mirrored tiles. Yeee UCK. Everything in the house was either chocolate brown, avocado green, burnt orange or goldish yellow.

This house was in amazing shape on the interior, though very dated. I noticed there was no oven in the small kitchen as you toured the 1st floor…which was puzzling. Finding it in the basement was a head scratcher! Great explore…
