- This little guy is Charlie, he/she is a Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman! And what an animal! These caimans are a smallest species of crocodiles in the world. Being the smallest species, they only grow to maximum of about 5 feet. They are also illegal to own in most areas in Canada. Extra care is necessary when handing Caimans, they are normally not very friendly. Dwarf Caimans are an amazing species and I have learned so much in the short time I've owned he/her. Caimans are crocodilians and possess an extreme bite force of about 3700 psi! You don't want to be in the jaws of this Dwarf Caiman!
Working with an animal like this is a true honour and amazing opportunity to teach others about them.
Enjoy!

Caimans aren't Crocodiles, They're actually the only other member of the Alligoritade Family besides the Alligator in fact the common translation of Caiman (Southern American Natives tounge) to the American language is "Small Alligator/Alligator" the Native Americans from South America will tell You that Caimans are 3× as dangerous then a Crocodile.
Naw Crocs are a whole different level caimans are flighty and agile but power definitely goes to Crocs
Black kaiman’s tho
Very powerful and not scared of humans at all
