Yeah we are a construction company utility gas work. We use the Chevy 3500 so we can skate under the radar towing the 304 and staying under cdl. We love them great dependable reliable trucks. We don’t have fold down sides just Because we don’t need them and want them as tough as possible. Tows 304s every day no issue.
We have a 2017 version of this truck. It is a Very versatile unit. I would say it’s the Swiss Army knife of landscape trucks. You need a coal chute welded into the tailgate. We haven’t shoveled rock in years. In most cases it even works with dry topsoil, compost, and ab3.

Payload on 350/3500 is not good for much weight by the time you fill it up with tools. In all seriousness should consider a 450/4500 for future trucks(still under CDL at least in our area) and much better turning radius. We used to run 350 but the cops love to ticket them for overweight.
Why not install some pipes in the truck bed against the headache rack for shovels brooms etc or on top of cab

Agreed I have a 550 and as soon as you hook a trailer you’re basically overweight . 3500 is perfect to skate thru that
