  • @LivingTheorem
    @LivingTheorem 5 років тому +242

    I like the idea of "just 10 min" and not worrying too much about pace or distance. I've always had this all or nothing attitude where I stress about a specific distance and a specific time/pace. I feel nervous and get butterflies sometimes before my runs from fear of *running too slow* or not being able to *go the distance*. This has even leads me to not run at all some days or weeks. This same thinking hinders me in other areas of my life as well.
    What you shared at around 4:20 was very refreshing to me though.
    From this I will take that having the discipline, mental fortitude and knowledge that every little thing counts goes a long way and is what will truly allow people to reach their goals.
    Thank you.

    Two winters ago, I ran 2 hours everyday, including weekends, of my winter break, which was 3 weeks. I never ate the fast food found everywhere in LA, choosing healthier homemade meals instead. My favorite was a bowl of lentils with several slices of whole grain bread and water. I only drank water. I lost 20 lbs, I was lean enough to have a six-pack when I flexed my abdomen, and my stamina improved. I weighed 160 lbs at 6'1".
    Since that year, I have cut exercise from my time. I now weigh 200 lbs and my face and legs have taken the biggest toll.
    Running is best for burning fat. It's priceless, convenient, but hard. You can get bored of running around the same circuit route, as in my case. (But I had the mysterious drive to continue despite the repetitiveness and cold nights that I ran in.) You *must* stay motivated and focused, and focus on one day at a time.
    Good job, HellahGood!

    • @HellahGood

      dust
      You're mistaken.
      Though it doesn't burn as much calories as swimming, you're likely to have the energy to run everyday, and thus lose weight faster.

      @bletwort2920 5 років тому

      Holy_ShushCabin Eating less calories than you burn is the only way to weight loss. Cardio helps but it’s not compulsory. I lost some weight these few week by just sitting at home and eating very little food.

      Nice building up healthy habits is a nice thing! But you if you want to step your game up, try to add 1 push up everydy (Day 1 20PUs, Day 2 21PUs, etc.) You'll slowly build up an amazing amount of reps.

    • @davidsgardell
      @davidsgardell 6 років тому +2

      Guys, I only brought this up for giggles, because my 365 challenge is nothing compared to running every day! 😂
      But to answer your questions, going from bed to (at least) 20 push-ups every day might not have done anything visually, but it definitely felt like a good habit to kick the day off with (I’m not really into working other than doing some pull-ups, jogging 40 mins each and every day and some kettlebelling) and activate your muscles.
      But yea totally right about increasing the numbers everyday, which I should have done. I once started the 100 push up challenge, which (obviously) increases the sets each time. But I stopped it for whatever reason.

    so impressed about your journey
    Q&A : 1) What do you think about running watches ? ( which is your favourite ?)
    2) Would you do a body transformation video ?
    3) Will running everyday without going to the gym ruin my body shape ? and make my muscles dissapear ? i heard that after 45min of running your body will start burning proteins which can cause that

    This has inspired me to get back into running, 5 years ago I was almost anerexic and ran 8km everyday after school as well as farm work and everything else I did, now I’m 61kg and want to weigh 44kg which is what I weighed 5 years ago, I stopped because I snapped my acl twice and bruised my bones and tore my meniscus twice, I don’t care about my injury anymore and literally ran 10km for the first time yesterday since last year and I’m gonna run everyday starting after my park run on Saturday

      Komal Chutwani nothing ! If you eat an high anti oxydant diet which help recovering your muscles, stretching everyday, a little bit of leg massages and good shoes, you'll be totally OK. Running makes your bones and muscles stronger. But you have to add a little bit of weight training to prevent injuries(squats, abs etc.) 😊

    One thing I have always told myself when I race: no matter if I am first or last, i will never receive a DNF. Finish everything. Everytime.
