- After following The Chi for six seasons, I've decided to stop watching. In this final review of Season 6, Episode 16, I discuss the reasons behind my decision, analyzing the storyline, character development, and overall direction of the show. @AminaSeenIt I want to comment about this show and you made major points on, the creators common and lena sold the show once it got famous, characters in and out of show, and I said this myself that this show is gonna end up like empire and my opinion this show is slowly losing steam because certain actors are limited to a certain amount of seasons to where they wrote off or killed off and this with shows is the new, where they build up shows just to cash in and cash out and cancel the show.

Doudas death was very uneventful and lack luster
I had decided I was done with the Chi last week, however my husband was looking at it and it caught my eye that Keshia was pregnant. When Keshia made the comment that "she" hadn't decided what she was going to do about the baby and wasn't having a gender reveal because the child might not like the gender that it was assigned at birth. That was it for me. First of all, the Chi has been horrible since season 3 and it continues to keep getting worse. People need to stop mindlessly looking at what they see on tv and think there aren't subliminal messages to push an agenda. Even though it's not discussed, I'm sure ratings have fallen. How do I know? Because for YEARS, when a show's ratings are falling, they either bring in celebrities to save it, in the hopes people will start watching again, or they introduce a new baby. Unfortunately, the writers write like amateurs. How are main characters (Brandon, Dre and Victor's first girlfriend) written out of a show and it's discussed in one line? So now, Nina is going to leave with a new person. Da Brat of al people? Come on, ya'll. Then, all of a sudden, the majority of the females are lesbians. Where did that come from? Then, all the men are sitting around in a circle, discussing their feelings. In what world? So, no one has their act together but these 18,19 year old women. At this point, the show is so unrealistic and just pathetic. Every storyline centers around Douda, unlike the first couple of seasons when the actors had real storylines and were trying to jumpstart their lives and careers. Now, everyone is making money doing criminal acts or their dreams are being funded by a criminal. Is anyone happy? It seems like EVERYONE is miserable. The Chi started out strong and positive. Now, it's a poorly written ghetto saga that keeps getting worse. When I get to the point that I no longer care about the characters, it's time to go. There are lots of other shows on TV that are well-written, develop their characters, instead of constantly bringing in celebrities that serve no purpose, and don't try to push homosexuality down our throats.

Those of us that are from Chicago , found it identifiable . Of course, it had to change when Jason Mitchell got fired. But, now it's not the same show. Is Common even still associated with this show? We're allowed to point that out, on the way out.🙄 Call it an exit interview.

Bianca was kind of useless to me. And realistically douda would have taken her out when he found out she said to tiff.

Also that dinner with Jake was funny af but hella random.

Trash scrip bringing back roslynn Walking to Smokies talking to Lala she don’t understand sign language but all suddenly fall in love with the stud muffin love at first sight that was a unnecessary. Then kept bringing back Tracy her character is useless. What’s the point of bringing here we get it. Your son died move on. Rob, what are you doing? Never talk shit to someone while your back is turned, especially if you’re not strapped. Why is Nina and the brat is back their character is useless. I forgot her name but Papa ex isn’t the same from last season. If you notice she doesn’t have her baby at all this season. Why is Jemma at the first lady house? The show fell off since season 2. Ronnie Brandon Coogie and REGG and Emmit, Kev carried the show.

This whole season has been horrible I think that they are bringing in to many new characters and I don't like how sum of the main characters or people who have been on the chi since the 1st season are not being on shown on multiple episodes they just using random ass storylines

Brandon was the best character in the show once they got rid of him the show fell off.
Tbh as much as I love the show, I thought Douda’s death was kinda underwhelming. I thought Douda was gonna go out like on some Training Day or Queen Latifah in Set It Off type of way. I thought he was gonna get tortured a bit before his death paying for all of the bodies that he don dropped.

Amina after watching this episode, I dont blame you hate how this ended, glad nuck took him out but why did the writers decide to turn him from hero to villian so fast,it just does a disservice to any character development smh

The creators of this show definitely have an agenda to normalize certain things in the minds of the viewers. The writers on this show didn't do a good job with Keyshia and Emmitt's development. I liked I can't take Knuck seriously as a Douda character. He's not smart enough. I hope Bakari takes Lynae and hops on a bus like Jason did in Jason's Lyric. Since the wroters like ti mimic other movies....let's g8ve that a try.
just call a spade a spade. The moment Reg died the show went with it. Especially the reason why the actor left the show because they tried to push the agenda

Watching the chi from season 1 one thing they slways did that was detrimental to the show was introduce way to many Characters st once snd storylines that we either dont care about or they make us care and then dont bring thr character back until its needed, emmit brother storylines isnt needed, keisha mon storyline isnt needed , bakari even having a sister isnt needed , the brat is just s badly written snd bsdly acted character 😂they love having 10 main characters a season

I agree I can't believe I stuck with this show for 6 seasons. I thought it was gonna be about some real street stuff because the first season was promising but now they're just pushing the alphabet mob agenda and having everybody passing each other around so everybody has a kid with everybody. Nuck smokes Douda and instantly goes to war with Alicia but smokes Rob later on it's like why not just smoke Alicia right after Douda when he had the perfect chance when he needs to do it later anyways? Zay could've smoked Nuck when he turned his back on him as well since he was aiming for the top spot too. And what was up with that random ass shroom scene? Horrible writing, the show needs more killing.

The show's writing has fallen in the toilet. There was absolutely, no point in bringing in Leon. To bring back Q, only to kill him off, was a waste. The Chi has become a LBGT vehicle. So much homophobia, exists on the South and west sides of Chicago, but this show ignores all of that. Never thought the show would slide so far from season 1-3.
Unfortunately, this last episode pmo so bad I’m not too hopeful for s7. I gotta see it through but not sure I’ll keep watching.

The chi peaked in season 2. Moment they sent Reg to the upper room and i found out why it really happened made it all the more clear

Right , I feel like this was all over the place . I did always knew knuck was going to kill dooda (especially once he benched him and been saying certain things about him stepping up ). They need to just gone ahead and wrap this up . Still can’t believe Kevin gone like how yall let the main character go, and Keisha be making me mad lol .I almost teared up when I see Kevin them when on the first seasons 😅in school . The show was showing great positivity for Chicago , now I just don’t like the direction it’s going .

Before I was watching the show to see how bad it could get, but now it’s just too bad. The writers are lazy and insulting us and the pay must be good because these actors keep joining this show. But they’ve got to watch the finished product and be a little annoyed at what they’re part of, I’m done too.

The reason you gave as to why you aren’t reviewing the chi is exactly why I won’t watch it I just refuse to bring myself to watching men as cucks in a show that paints them as powerless and stupid. I see it enough from Power although they have some gumption still but that show has its own baggage such as offing fathers and the unnecessary sex scenes. Nonetheless I don’t blame you for no longer watching the show anymore but me I’m only tuning in to hear what folks have to say due to this death of Douda being the biggest death in the show’s history. Where have you been??? The two actual men well three counting Kev now. Reg, Brandon and Kev were the only real men on this show. The rest are weak, erratic, and sassy. Lena Waith is doing the white man bidden per usual.

I agree don’t know if I’ll watch season 7 though I really used to like the show. The LGBTQ agenda is getting to be too much unnecessary sex scenes and just bad writing. Emma‘s character has babies, but Keisha‘s character has major baggage. Now to be pregnant again when she told Emmett don’t bother with the condom just be careful ignorant is that. I only watch for the younger generation storylines the adults storylines are just ridiculous.
