How about building something like this in FTD as a new long Range Bombard.
Heavy Armor on the Front maybe a stacked Shield and then just some really nasty cram cannons to let Hell rain upon the Enemies.

You know, I think you might be getting near to *almost* enough Dakka... BTW, I'd call it the Hydra, after the multi-headed monster of Greek myth.
Those poor Hawkeye tracks are so massively overloaded. It's no surprise at all that those poor, perma-sparking tracks can barely manage a turn. Would using some GSO hover plates help lighten the craft without actually removing anything? Or for a challenge, make the whole craft a hover-tank, because I'd imagine the recoil would send you scooting back, so it would force you to aim fresh, as after firing, you'd have to reposition. Not so easy to just tweak your aim shot by shot then.

I am imagining a hover craft being flung around like air hockey,I see alot of tech do drive-by shooting, but I want to see a tech that will drive BY shooting, that would be glorious.
I seem to recall seeing a few flyers and racers on the Steam Workshop that were indeed gun-powered. It's novel, but the noise levels to travel any distances would drive me crazy. :D

*@Lathland* I have made a similar craft (with megaton canons), I found the best way to aim is to use the radar, check at which ring the enemy is at when you hit it, then you know the distance, then use the radar arrow (or your eyes if line of sight is possible).
Another tip is to use up-side-down Geo-Corp digging scoops (name?), so when you fire then the edge of the scoop teeth touches the ground & the games collision physics kind of freezes you in place & the recoil is nullified by the ground.
A way to modify how far the craft shoots is to move it, if you move forward when firing then it shoots further, but more importantly, if you move backwards when firing it shoots shorter, witch is very useful if something is too close & is about to attack.

From my experience, painkillers can increase the time needed for back to recover.
The stronger it is, the more likely you are to move in a way that will make things worse. I only use them as a last resort if I haven't slept in a day or two or have trouble breathing.

The reason the back guns are getting farther is due to hight in relation to a term known as shell drop. Battle ships deal with shell drop, look it up, in is quite interesting.

18:30 Latherix it's because of exponential returns on the angle of the craft. If you went to 12 or 15 the spread would be even large.

When I use tracks, and i've never thought to do angled techs, and I do tend to make more cube/box shaped techs, but when I use tracks, i use rows of tracks, just for the increased weight/speed capacity. well, not speed. but i do tend to cover the bottom of my boxes with the tracks. something like this...a row of tracks right across the front and another row right across the back. not sure if that would work for this, but...an idea. also, the reload time does have a slight RNG on it per weapon which is why they start to fire slightly out of time over time. most of them, perhaps not all; not sure about the small ones, but the more powerful ones do. i've noticed with railguns and cannons.

Set two of those cannons up on a rotating mount (whatever you call them) with an AI module and set them up around an enemy. Invasions spawn in the middle all the time, and I have SCU units all around the area. Block farming OP
you should make a artillery truck with the ball joints that would be awesome to drive around and nuke other techs like nothing

Why don't you use the hawkeye brackets? I think it fits more then the GEO corp bumpers

Also, really wish we could key-bind parts that spin and such so we could make aim-able weapons and have tank-destroyer emplacements or howitzers to shell bases, maybe even rotatable battleship cannons and have full-on airships.
Yeah, spinning joints would be such a cool addition to the game, and allow some crazy builds (walker mechs etc..)

If you stacked multiple techs on top of each other jointed together with hooks you could get a bunch of Big Bertha cannons facing in different directions.
Hey Lath. If you put a rotating anchor for either hawkeye or geocorp on the front, it could anchor and allow you to rotate on spot faster?
You need to use the Alt key to help when building, when held while holding a block, it allows you to move another block, then release Alt to get the building block back
Hey Lathrix have you tried using the new heavy mortars with the trick you used to get the AA gun to shoot forward?
you know, that you can place the heavy mortars facing forwards without any bugs right?

With so many creations i think lathrix could just make a special mini episode spawning every last one of them and changing their cabs for ai. Then going around with his awesome crazy army just shooting things and trying not to lose all of them...
I highly recommend using build mode to turn around when your tech gets really sluggish.
Oh, never mind, you did end up doing that later on.

I have a build suggestion, Since you are using it as artillery, You should build a type of "iron sight" so you can utilize it to aim.

Can you point a big bertha cannon downwards on a flying craft?
Not quite cheaty way to make tanks more nimble, a few hover plates underneath to offset some of the weight. Bit of a balance act to avoid it getting all slippery and slidey, but you can get pretty close to top speed and turn rate of tracks while still maintaining traction.

I wish you could set up a stagger fire so that you could shoot three-three-three and that would be so cool, or it could be a bit of burst fire thing, pew-pew-pew-pew-pew-pew-pew-pew-pew really quickly, that would be way cooler however the volley is still nice.
Lathrix, might I suggest you make a flying craft with the Big Bertha Cannons that could circle the enemy while you rain down total destruction? Just a thought.

And also, (I don't know if it still works) you can place Big Bertha Cannons as TURRETS. You should make a base... Sorry about the whole nomad thing, but you could use them to defend your base. And It doesn't need an AI cab!!

I like to think that the default cabin doesn't even fit one person but is like the size of one of those giant dump trucks and is crewed by like 100 people.... so that everything in the game is insanely big....

I think the reason your guns were misaligning is because for whatever reason they weren't resetting after being aimed at a nearby target.
Exactly as Lathrix said, why one when you can have many xD Would probably need a load of weight to balance the recoil, or some gyroscopes. Anyone besides me ever come up with a flying base deployer, it uses the exploding part that allows two techs to separate?
