Titled "[0.7.8] Fabs sometimes take resources but don't produce blocks". It's kinda niche compared to most the other crafting issues, though. (Have to be crafting direct off a Silo.)
to me its looks like the pacemaker making the issue, like its too quick for the game to relise that its going into an fab EDIT - also when he changes the recipe the resources slow down, like its on normal speed even tho the pacemakers still on full speed
Another issue could be having some of the previous resource still inside the fabricator when you switch over to the next block to craft. Maybe there is an issue where it gets stuck on stupid, because you told it to make one thing while it's still holding stuff to make another. I noticed when Lathrix switched to rubber there was always a bit of wood left, but when he took the pacemaker off, it happened to be empty. Either way, easy test.
The bug definitely requires that there are already ingredients in the Fabricator. Switching blocks like that, without *Cancelling*, doesn't give it time to do it's little "I'm destroying resources" fart. Just one piece of conveyor in between silo and fab will give it this opportunity and negate the bug.
You should make a hawkeye fighter jet! I know you don't like boosters on planes but it would awesome! 1 booster on every wing! Please do it Lathrix....

I think having the raw and refined more separate like this is a cleaner look, also having two refineries in the end rather than one is somewhat faster as normally refineries and delivery cannons are the slow bottleneck - I could also now add more cannons later with minimal issue to speed up everything without having to worry about refineries, this design is also more flexible in case I ever want to craft using raw resource. But I do see your point, but prefer my version for ease of use later :)
Let the venture refinery work while you are driving & with some filtering you can also let the venture delivery cannon work while driving, then you will only have the resources you want left when you anchor, in that way you also save space in the HC-collector because you are only keeping the resources you actually want. You don't want any raw resources for selling or "blocking" so refine them as soon as possible to get rid of that problem. Another tip, the GSO thimble collector has one of the longest ranges, and all silos pick up from all collectors, so use one or more thimbles at the side of a big silo, to get long range & a huge storage. One thimble can feed up to 4 silos if you offset the silos to form a 1 block hole in the middle (like a (anti-)clockwise spiral-like pattern, if that makes sense?)
i would say the only way to make this better is to put a small magnet behind the scu so they dont get tossed too far and maybeturn the outboard lasers...out to widen your cutting edge.

What if you made a giant cargo plane filled with silos to transport resources from base to base when you move. I know it’s a lot more efficient and safer to just turn the resources into blocks, but it would look really cool.
You should put the refinery and delivery cannon a little more to the front, and then fill in the space with a mobile SCU from venture, so you can pick up the things you make without needing to Anker(or just a normal SCU since you need to Anker anyways to make things) but the venture mobile doesn’t need to charge up when you Anker to make stuff, yes?

Lathrix, the filter conveyor has a "filter none" option to stop it from taking any resources at all, even if a component sneaks into your harvesting! (Also, those beams seem to completely pierce shields... That could make for an interesting build, I think.)

A bit late, I know, but you could make it considerably smaller by refining directly from the collector pad, then filter out the refined wood and rubber. This way you could instead use one 9 slot silo for each (or a 4 slot for rubber, it's considerably rarer than wood), have only one refinery that feeds into both the silos and the resource cannon. Also, you could then either use a single fabricator if that's what you want (just offset the silos so you have the fabricator connect to both, less of a problem if you use the 4 silo for rubber), or two separate ones so you'd just bypass the fabricator just eating resources when changing the crafted thing (as you wouldn't ever change that).
I think you should build a platform and put all of the best/most popular etc techs of the series on it Then the nimble thimble can live on as a legend!
If the is a bug I would suggest if you are going to make something like this for every resource to give each resource a fabricator so you don’t have to deal with this bug

I creatte a smaller and better harvester with your idea (two fabricator, ( sorry, I am not so good in english) it has boosters, CAN ACTUALLY FLY WITHE THE BOOSTERS, and can turn left while moving, but can't turn right ( I don't now why ) I built it with a max fps of 15. i think the blocks bouncing into the air IS a bug which is caused by the delivery cannon as the game thinks it is shipping chunks off to space but later cancels as it isn't a chunk so it falls back to earth
why don't you just put the mobile refinery to input and output to the tractor pad then filter your refined materials it is not a bug the fabricator will not work mobile but is won't just destroy your resources for going mobile ether 26:18 no clearly the developers intended your refinery to turn into a black hole of coarse that is a bug interesting every time you hit a tree your SCU turns off
the bug you saw. i encountered it too. through some testing i found that the problem is when resource is fed into the fabricator before the animation of destroying the fabricator's stored resource it bugs out and eats the resource whilst destroying it. i have encountered this regardless of whether it feeds off a silo or a conveyor so i don't think that's the issue.
It's been quite a few updates since that though, would probably run into the same or similar issues though, would be cool to have a tech army though Edit: I said though a lot didn't I?
That's not quite correct, you can normally swap between recipes on stationary bases with refineries without the new recipie simply destroying the blocks entering it, it WILL destroy the blocks already inside but as soon as it swaps it should accept the new blocks which are used in its recipe. At no point should the fabricator accept blocks and destroy them, only destruction of blocks already inside is normal, making this a bug sadly! It's.. a bit weird! :P
It was taking the blocks before spitting out the not completed one first and after it took all the resources it sput out the not completed maybe its becuse it did not have enough time to spit out the not completed one first? Try adding conveyors to delay the resoces getting to the fab before it sput out the not completed one first
It's a confirmed bug It turns out, it really shouldn't need a delay as the resources are destroyed instantly when you swap recipes, It was just not working as intended sadly! Just need to be very careful about it!

Only issue is that magnets will take priority on holding stuff if it's on the same Tech as the SCU.
