I've been saying something like this for years. There's no distinction between someone touching black hair and lynching. Because they chose to use the strongest language to demonize anyone who disagrees with them. And they do call people like hirsi ali and others as islamophobic because she is a muslim who is critical of the violence in Islam. Or Jews who live safely in the USA and aren't under attack telling Jews in another country that they are willing for them to live with violence by making it about themselves, not in my name. You're not in danger. People on a foreign country are in danger, not you.
If we're actually critically thinking about the long term use of social justice, and honestly using it for moral reasons, then she is showing the natural end of it. But because it's not about morals and real justice, it's about power grabbing, then it continues, like it's present form.
this phenomenon also exists in social services and medical / health services. the inability for descriptive language to do its job due to hyperbole and euphemism is making it harder to properly allocate and prioritize scarce resources (tax revenues). as a result, we risk underserving the desperately needy by enabling greater dependence where we shouldn't.
