    Thanks, been staring at my textbook for 30 minutes trying to make some sense of ellipses. Within the first 2 minutes of watching this video I've gotten more meaningful information than from my textbook

    From 8:06 to the end, the minor axis includes (1, 5) and (-7,5). You only went a distance of 2 in each direction instead of 4 (square root of b).

    What's weird is that when I saw the thumbnail for this video, I swear it was the equation of a hyperbola with a minus instead of a plus. Part of the reason I clicked on this was to see how Mr. McLogan would get around this. Great video. Glad I watched.

    I'm taking a multidimensional math course this semester and it has started with parabola, elliptic, and hyperbola equations and graphs. I haven't seen these in over twenty-five years. Thank you very much for posting your easy to follow instructions. Your videos related to parabolas and ellipses have proven much helpful and I'm able to complete my homework assignment. I'm looking forward to finding your videos concerning hyperbolas.

    At 8:15 how is the radius of the minor axis 2 units left and right of x= -3 ? Isn't b= 4 so shouldn't it be 4 units left and right?

    Should it be 4 in each side instead of 2 since squareroot of 16 is 4?
