It's because the music was designed to play from the CD player portion of the sound card, which newer sound cards don't have (unless maybe you wire it). 90's sound cards couldn't play two WAV/MP3 files at once, so some games chose CD, others chose MIDI (which follows a musical score). Put the disc in a CD player and you'll hear the music. I'm not sure how new OSs can adapt to old CD player technology, though.
i remember that music, it is still stuck in my head, and i got it about 7 years ago, and im 12 now, for gods sake, keep that song in my head, i love it
the crushers are certainly easier that the crocs. believe it or not, if you have good quickness as you're approaching the crushers (the set of 8), and they're moving outward, you can skip 4 or 6 of them if you're hugging the wall, simply by superhopping over them as they go outward, then moving forward to get off them.
I freaking HATED Uncanny Crusher. I was always so close to throwing my TV out the window. It's that area with the orange and purple frog that's a pain in the balls. Then again, there's Big Boulder Alley....
When I was a kid, my brother told me about this place on Reservoir Frogs where the slugs have really huge teeth. I've never looked at the slugs the same way again even though I realized a few years later that he was joking.
up, The 3rd level of this zone was the most difficult one which I NEVER got passed! The insane speed of the moving crushers at the slippery area was berserk!
Anybody notice at 15:36 when it's trying to load Reservoir Frogs it begins to play the Scorching Switches music then quickly switches back to the Reservoir Frogs music?
the only problem with that is you can only stay on it for a few seconds or else you will die. not only that some of the crushers are moving fast so if you try to jump off, you might get killed
hey if anyone could help me it would be great. i dug this out of my closet and installed it but i dont hear the music, which makes it better! is there any way to turn it back on?
I managed to find my old copy of this game, and man, it's harder then I remember! You make it look easy, but then again, you've probably played it a long time. One thing, I have the PC version, and the sound effects play, but no music plays. Is that just because it's an old game on a newer system or what?
WOW this game inspired me to be an gamer. It was the first game i've ver gotton and it still is awesome no matter what it is so epic. THIS GAME INSPIRED ME TO BE A GAMER!
ilove this game, i give it 10/10 stars and i've beaten every level and have gotten allgold frogs but i lost the game so i might just buy it again off amazon because it is alot of fun
I could play this game for days on end, but the Sewer levels always give me headaches, plus they're the only levels for which I have not found the Golder Frog (over almost 7 years of owning the game). This video should help with that. :)
Wow... all these years, and I finally got the answer! Don't worry molly! If you have Windows Media Player, you can listen to the soundtrack if the disk is in the computer, but it still doesn't make it into the game itself. :(
@atrocity3010 Something to do with recent OS's. On my old Win98 machine music plays but not on my new Win7 Ultimate 64bit. :P Still, I can just use my old PSX game disc with ePSXe. Besides, it looks better with an OpenGL plugin for video and all that stuff.
@MagicBeans403 dude its hard just to get the fuckin green baby, sometimes wen i superjumped, it would glitch me throught the dam baby and id fall into the damn sewage
I played this game so much as a kid. I was really good at this game too, but Uncanny Crusher and Big Boulder Alley were the two levels that I could never master. Of those two, for some reason I always hated Uncanny Crusher more. I enjoyed all of the other sewer levels, but I dreaded Uncanny Crusher.
I managed to get through reservoir frogs without losing a life. but uncanny crusher kicked my balls repeatedly. (espically getting the orange frog and the purple frog)

My most favorite songs and stage. This game continues to kick my ass....
Yes, I still play this >_>
sewer zone = best music
one of my fav levels in this game
i remember that music, it is still stuck in my head, and i got it about 7 years ago, and im 12 now, for gods sake, keep that song in my head, i love it
Uncanny Crusher is the hardest video game level known to man...or at least me, I've never beaten it before, and I can plow through Mower Mania.
uncanny crushers sure is a devilish and evil level, almost as hard as Frogger goes Skiing
Hasbro. The only company able to make ponies appealing to grown men, and dripping sludge appealing to the ears.
this was probably one of the hardest worlds on frogger including the desert world
the crushers are certainly easier that the crocs. believe it or not, if you have good quickness as you're approaching the crushers (the set of 8), and they're moving outward, you can skip 4 or 6 of them if you're hugging the wall, simply by superhopping over them as they go outward, then moving forward to get off them.

Uncanny Crushers = HARDEST...LEVEL...EVER! Thumbs up if u agree
When I was a kid, my brother told me about this place on Reservoir Frogs where the slugs have really huge teeth.
I've never looked at the slugs the same way again even though I realized a few years later that he was joking.
The sewer zone and the cactus zone are definetly tied for the hardest in the game.
DEM POLYGONS
I about went insane when I tried to get the purple and orange frog in uncanny crusher. I had such a hard time controlling frogger on the slime.
up, The 3rd level of this zone was the most difficult one which I NEVER got passed! The insane speed of the moving crushers at the slippery area was berserk!
thank you, thank you, thank you
i love this game too, this game is so addicting too,
Anybody notice at 15:36 when it's trying to load Reservoir Frogs it begins to play the Scorching Switches music then quickly switches back to the Reservoir Frogs music?
he used an adaptec gamebridge. you can find them on ebay or amazon
same thing with me. I couldnt get the angle figured out with the exploding barrels.
y cant u leve the stage slect on for a bit the tune is amazing can you make anothr one with that stag select song please
the only problem with that is you can only stay on it for a few seconds or else you will die. not only that some of the crushers are moving fast so if you try to jump off, you might get killed
ps uncanny crushers and reservoir frogs still remain as some of the hardest levels in my book!!!!
That was great! These levels do present a great challenge. When will you do the cactus zone?
could be
Yeah, the sewer zone is my favorite zone in the game. The machinery zone comes a close second.
Are they slugs or leeches?
Slugs
@BakaSurvivor100 Yeah, the music doesn't play on anything XP and up.
How can you play the more challenging levels?
hey if anyone could help me it would be great. i dug this out of my closet and installed it but i dont hear the music, which makes it better! is there any way to turn it back on?
I managed to find my old copy of this game, and man, it's harder then I remember! You make it look easy, but then again, you've probably played it a long time.

15:35 My favorite hilarious music and laughs.
the oil spill is bad, but look at this sewer!
these levels are HARD
I like the music.
which was harder uncanny crusher or big boulder alley
Reservoir Frogs was a nightmare for me, god that orange frog at the end was so annoying to get.
wut about big boulder alley?
in this mission, i dont get how dripping paint would kill you
great memories :)
16:45, my favorite part when i was a kid
Plus, I think the area's darker too
The "tooth fairy" pur this game under my pillow. Beats getting $1 anytime!
uncanny crusher was one of the only levels I NEVER completed....right pain
Slime Sliding was so much fun :D
Y'know, for a game made in 97 it has some pretty awesome mechanics and ideas.
All the proof that you don’t need to make extremely complicated design choices to have complex yet satisfying physics engines.
when i hear this music i think of taking a dump
Uncanny Crusher is EVIL! Don't get me started how many failed attempts I had on that level!
Will Tropical Trouble get its own video?
This level hunted me so.
big boulder alley for sure. I got the green frog purely on luck, I didn't understand at all.
uncanny crusher was just a MAJOR pain in the ass. Period.
Does the PC version have music?
Do they make this game for a Mac?
Is Boom Boom Barrel just a harder version of the first level Bang Bang Barrel?
Yup
is this still out on PC?
Ha all these farting sounds lol. BTW how did you overlap the 10 minute limit in 07?
The crusher near the red frog.
15:36 Is it wrong for me to have Jammed to this music as a kid? xD
What did you use to record this video?
I could play this game for days on end, but the Sewer levels always give me headaches, plus they're the only levels for which I have not found the Golder Frog (over almost 7 years of owning the game). This video should help with that. :)
Thumbs up if you think this was the hardest fucking zone in the history of mankind
o...k.. I'll look into that.
I just superhop over all the chrushers.
lol i agree that uncanny crusher is evil but big boulder alley is in a class of its own :)
Wow... all these years, and I finally got the answer! Don't worry molly! If you have Windows Media Player, you can listen to the soundtrack if the disk is in the computer, but it still doesn't make it into the game itself. :(
"uncanny crusher, the hardest level there is in frogger"
OMG Ikr I hate that level with a passion. The orange and purple frogs took me forever to get.
big boulder alley is still in my opinion the hardest level in the game
that's funny. I thought the same thing too
it IS the sewer zone
lol big boulder alley causes pain to anyone who tries it. that is the manifestation of evil lol :). But the cactus zones have the best music lol :)
still is....
No one whi has ever beaten this game can say that Uncanny Crusher is easy.
It plays it, just not on your WAV port.
I always wondered what a seagull and raccoons were doing in the sewers.
on the this sewer zone i thought that the slugs were moving crap
Ive never made it this far...Its cool to see it though
Maybe this is in a different country. We might not have oil in our sewers.
i know its kinda weird but i wish i could in a world like this world with all the sludge levels!!!!!!!!!!
Did Frogger fart at 00:10?
@atrocity3010 Something to do with recent OS's. On my old Win98 machine music plays but not on my new Win7 Ultimate 64bit. :P Still, I can just use my old PSX game disc with ePSXe. Besides, it looks better with an OpenGL plugin for video and all that stuff.
don't even mention big boulder alley....possibly one of the hardest video game levels ever made
this was my hell... still fun though
@MagicBeans403 dude its hard just to get the fuckin green baby, sometimes wen i superjumped, it would glitch me throught the dam baby and id fall into the damn sewage
uncanny crusher is a bitch to get through. (along with big boulder alley)
I always did! :D
uncanny crusher used to piss me off so bad. I lost 8 frogs doing that crap
(espically getting the orange frog and the purple frog)
what computer? if it's a newer one, no chance… it was made for the very old computers… like 95 to 2000, probably...
My copy doesn't play music anymore...
i rember having a dragon 32 frogger has changed :)
this level is hard
19:28 epic fail!
Uncanny crushers kills me, i can't seem to win at it. and i have the same problem as you UnknownMagician93.
ACLARATION:
the level 3 of sewer zone is hard
Lucky.
