Features Eyedea, Carnage, Illogic and Brother Ali.
This is a rough edit of two angles shot by myself and Pat Milbery. There's a bit of audio clipping and the footage is not color corrected.
SD, 480p runtime 49:54
He passed when I was 8 years old. I'd give anything to see him live or just have a conversation with him. I'm not sure if I'd still be here had I not found his music... He's articulated thoughts and emotions with perfect clarity, helping me to understand myself in ways I couldn't have done alone. Damn I wish he was still here. RIP eyedea, you're a true hero.
Back again for one of the most legendary sets with songs from one of most legendary albums of all history of music, Mikey truly was one of a kind
This eye do concur my brethren 💯🤓😁 one of a kind... KillTheKing
greatest of all time
Facts!!
No backing tracks and Eyedea NAILED IT!!! Most Hip Hop performers rap along to their actual songs like a high priced Karaoke performance. That's why I respect Rhymesayer Entertainment so much... It is REAL Hip Hop performance and Eyedea was on of the best. Not to mention his style was way outside of the box.
Dope
every time I step on stage to do an AllOne set, I think of Eyedea. Meeting him while he and abilities toured By The Throat with Kristoff Krane at Mercury Lounge in NYC in 2010 was unbelievable. the most electric performer and just such a great guy. He laid it all out. freestyling, being in the crowd, on the floor, full of sweat. I knew every single word of every song and he had me on the mic with him. the stagecraft and skill was impeccable and the place was packed full of love with him. Chopped it up after the show and he was just such a humble, funny and cool guy. The people who respected him even fended off the drunken people trying to freestyle battle him. He was wearing a dirty white tea that read "Band t-shirt" The energy he put into crowd interaction and just LIVING the songs live always stuck with me and I cherish it as a fan and as a performer who has adopted that ethic. RIP Mikey. The unparalleled and unprecedented greatest.
Tonight I saw Eyedea live, for the first time, by way of UA-cam. It was an amazing set!
You're in for quite the awakening by getting into his music. it changed my entire life and I think I found it when I needed it the most
Thats a bigass chromedome
dude this is a slice of history right here, so happy this video exists I wish I was in that crowd so bad, R EYE P - EYEDEA FOREVER AND EVER
I was there. Still have my t shirts. Its followed me around at least 7 moves. One of those cherished possessions. Thanks for the video friend.
The Oliver Hart ‘How Eye One the Write Too Think’ triple vinyl is seriously one of the best albums in my 30+ year of Hip Hop vinyl collecting, which is no small feat. The fact only 3000 were pressed just makes it that more special but regardless of it being limited edition,it’s a true, bona fide MASTERPIECE!
R.I.P EYEDEA(one of Hip Hops most creative genius minds)
if i could bring back one legend who died young, eyedea no question
Am pretty bummed to think he’s gone. My mind was lost when I saw him spit on that wake up show vid 2 days ago, was like how tf do I not know about this guy? I don’t think any artist has had a greater impact on me, let alone in the course of two days. I was going down a dark path, convinced I’d past the point of no return, but his music brought me back to the light and truly may have even saved my life. I am profoundly grateful that the world was gifted with such a brilliant mind and that his messages reached me when they did.
“Gotta lose your mind before you find it. And when you finally find it you'll find out you never lost it at all” -Eyedea
Rest In Peace 😭
i've been a fan since 2011; i wish i was you; almost every track gone hit your soul and those that don't will later
That's amazing. I recommend you look up the documentary about him called "The World Has No Eyedea"
No joke I think discovering Eyedea saved my life too this past week. Just cause I saw Brother Ali dedicate a freestyle to him on Sway, never even heard of him before and it's like I suddenly had my mind opened to another dimension of music. This man was a battle rap champion, yet his albums transcended hip hop.
@@awavisdead same here a fan since 2011!!
I found Eyedea 4 months after my mom died and maybe 8 months before he passed and he single handedly saved my life…
It's awesome to see how most of the commenters genuinely appreciate his music and who he was. Although I'm not one to contrast the "validity" of appreciation people may have for music due to it's (appreciation's) inherently subjective nature, I still have to say that the way Eyedea (/Oliver Hart) fans appreciate his work goes much deeper than simple enjoyment. His embodiment of his music is always astounding, and I'm always ecstatic to see how much others still appreciate the man, the eyedea, and the music.
"The reading of all good books is like a conversation with the finest minds of past centuries." ~Rene Descartes
Perhaps this quote isn't applicable for those that don't read (I've only experienced it a few times while reading Kant, Kierkegaard, and a few others) but for me Eyedea is the only artist that engenders this feeling, unequivocally, throughout all of his albums.
Thanks for posting this, Leif.
I really liked your comment :) I realized when growing in life that eyedea captured most of my thoughts and feelings in some of the most elegant, beautiful rhymes and poetry, thoughts that I myself could never capture in the right words
Also I've read a bunch and like dostojevski a lot, how he describes the psyche of his characters I find to be amazing personally
@@arlukart You and JH hit it spot on! I think Eyedea got deep into Jung, Nietzsche and Dostoevsky at an early age. How else does an 18 year old make a hip-hop career out of poetry and songs about the ego and existentialist philosophies? He was definitely on his own tip! 👽💥
Time for my yearly viewing of this.
Mine too

This is a piece of history. The greatest video on UA-cam. R.EYE.P
Funny to think of how all these people at this show and where they've all gone from this night at this show. Some are married with kids, some are passed on like Mikey. Some are just trying find their path. I was lucky enough to see E&A twice and he was this ILL! Lots of energy esp with Abilities. This is how I'll remember him. Top 5 dead or alive.
i agree my friend, may christ bless you throughout all your days - one love
better than a buried treasure chest full of gold. thanks for sharing!
I think this is the only substantial footage from the Oliver Hart tour that exists online. Footage of shows from that era is very, very rare, making this very valuable footage. Does anyone know of any other extant footage from this tour?
I'd love to see more. I didn't even know this existed.
yeah you're so right. I've been looking at Eyedea videos online since I was like 16 and this is super fucking rare. It's hard to conceive of how amazing the dude truly was
They exist in a box somewhere

It’s hilarious seeing that Carnage psyched out Eyedea telling him he forgot the verse and Eyedea jumps in on cue just in case he wasn’t lying 😂
