    I have a disability and because of that I was never able to do my hair with a flat iron/ curling wand and the Dyson AirWrap finally made it possible for me to curl my hair by myself. And that alone makes it worth it for me to spend that much money on it

      I'm considering between Supersonic hair dryer and Airwrap. But I'm 99% shure that I'll go for the Supersonic, it really speaks to me, not heavy to hold apparently, dries your hair fast with less hair damage & the attachments you'll need depending on your hair type :)
      The Airwrap fascinates me, and I love all the options of attachments you get. But I'm not sure it's worth the money, the outcome of my "research" on which one to choose seems to be that you can get just the same results with other less esspensive drying brushes/tools. Or even better results. I've seen comparisons between the Revlon & Airwrap and the Revlon side looked smoother 😊 I would like to try the Airwrap on my own hair somehow b4 purchasing It! I don't know anyone that owns a Dyson Airwrap, not what I know :( I think I'll try another drying brush/tool from another brand first that's far less pricey to see how I like it! :) Remington has an option (Straight & Curl Confidence) with similar attachments as well as Braun Satin Hair Airstyler 😄 im rambling now 🤦‍♀️😂
      However, seriously though, your comment made me love Dyson for creating the Airwrap even if I'll never end up purchasing it, or wouldn't like it if I try it out & does think the price is too high.
      This is amazing 😊💕 so happy 4u. And I ofc understand it is priceless to u and worth the investment ❤

    You're the first person to actually do it properly and give it a proper go. I like how you detangled your hair first then tied it back and did the curls in section. Other people dont do that and get surprised when their hair turns out looking like a bird nest.

      @@erikacausor4110 I usually put a light conditioning mist in my hair beforehand. I also like the John Frieda frizz control oil you put in your hair while it’s still very wet in the shower. Just a small amount. You don’t need much. I’m sure others have found products that they prefer for their hair, but I have fine hair that goes a few inches below my shoulder. I would love to see Kathleen do a time comparison where she dries and curls traditionally and then see if it's any faster using the Dyson. Honestly, it looks like it doesn't straighten or dry great. So the only advantage I see is slightly less heat, and maybe some time saved because you're condensing 2 steps in 1 (drying and curling)? So the true test to me is if it's actually faster than traditional drying and curling.

    This really appeals to me. I travel a lot and bringing a hair dryer, a straighter, a curling iron, a curly brush, and a regular brush takes up a lot of room. So not only would this save space, but it seems like it wouldn't damage my hair as much. And it usually takes me 45 minutes to do my hair anyway! So, this is definitely on my Christmas wish list!! OMG, I’m so glad you did this video. I am a reluctant Dyson fan. I got a refurbished Dyson vacuum and I’ve never been excited by a vacuum before, but it was amazing. Life changing for a pet owner. So I’ve held off on the dryer, but this hair set has been calling my name. I saw some videos where people looked like they had no idea what they were doing and only 1 where the person really gave a good tutorial that looked achievable. You’re someone that gives an honest review. I struggle with styling my own hair, so I am excited to try this if I can get my hands on it. It’s sold out right now.

    The money you save from not having to purchase other products, to enhance your hair/save it from damage - it seems like it’s meant to balance out in the long run?

    Kathleen you are the first reviewer to address whether a person who might be interested in buying the dryer and if they should buy this instead so you get a dryer as well as all the attachments. That is exactly my question, my Husband was going to buy me the dryer for my birthday and get it during the VIB sale and then this was launched so wondered it this would be like getting the dryer AND the attachments all in one. I got the Dyson and I love it! The curls lasted really well into 5days!!. I only put hairspray when I was done with my whole hair. And didn’t reapply. It was the natural hold by Kenra. My hair felt nice and fluffy. I put dry shampoo on my roots on day 4. Day 6 my hair was still voluminous but no more curls. My hair still looked like it was blow dried professionally because the ends looked flipped out? Idk how to explain. And then I washed my hair lol. The first few curls that I did, did fall out kind of quick but that’s normal for me and will happen even when I do my hair with a curling iron. I’m mexican and have A LOT of hair and it’s thick and heavy. So it makes sense to me that some strands won’t hold up as well.

    Loved the idea of this wand. However, as someone who styles hair often, a few things that are counter productive about this tool are:
    •you need to rotate the curling heads in order to change curl direction. If you wanted to change curl direction every other section of hair, it would be a nightmare!! You’d have to keep switching the heads.
    •the round brush head is fine, but the wand is huge, making for some pretty awkward rotating hand motions should you want to get into those roots and smooth out the frizz

    • @leann4265
      @leann4265 5 років тому +1

      Stephanie Nicole I thought when you curl your hair, your supposed to curl in the same direction all the way around? Like curl away from your face.. anytime I’ve changed the direction it looks awful

    • @Gabriela-hp7sz

      You'd do all the forward facing curls first, and then change the curling heads once, and finish with the backward facing curls:)

      Gabriela Kay unfortunately thats really tedious as when you curl your hair you typically section your hair off, starting at the nape of the neck, working up to the crown.

BUT...for that price tag I’d expect it to dry my hair perfectly without having to know what I’m doing beforehand. Honestly I just don’t think it’s with the hefty price. Other tools do at least as good.

    • @jilllarge9449
      @jilllarge9449 5 років тому +9

      I use the blow dryer attachment to “rough dry” about 70%, then I use the round brush at the roots to get them dry and straight as well as add volume. The rest of my hair I’ll dry to about 85-90% with one of the paddle brush attachments (they both work about the same on my hair). then go in the the air wrap wands. I have long hair with the NBR extensions and this system works wonderful for me. I actually don’t mind doing my own hair now, it’s honestly replaced going for those professional blowouts. Even when I’ve worn my hair straight I’ve not had to use the straightener - I think the key is getting the roots straight with the round brush because it’ll get closer to the root then the paddle brush.

    • @roselynmvm
      @roselynmvm 5 років тому +11

      Jill Large - that still seems too much work for paying $550 for a tricky tool. I can use just a regular blow drier and a straightener and get my hair done faster and with no complications for under $200.

    I want this, but my hair is like 5 inches long. 😂 I’ll buy it in fourteen years when my hair has grown out...
    Kathleen, the curls won’t stay in your hair because of the length. The heaviness of the hair straightens the curls, but you can apply some spray or mousse prior to curling it and make them stay longer.
    Thank you for a great review!😘

    in my honest opinion, i feel like this product may be unique/cool/innovative, however, the novelty will wear off overtime. i feel that ppl who own this air wrap will most likely not be using it a year later, since i don't find it that practical (as it takes nearly an hour to dry/curl hair) and awkwardly bulky (despite that it is not heavy). i also feel the cons of the product outweighs the pros. with a product that expensive, u shouldn't have to figure out what works and what doesn't work (like wetness of hair has to be just right, amount of hair wrap around the curl has to be just right). the only pro i see is that it uses less heat, but that still does not justify how much this air wrap actually cost especially since u still need to use other hair tools to fix your hair. don't think it's really worth the money even with all those attachments because it's most likely that not all attachments will be used by the average consumer. if anything, i would recommend the supersonic hair dryer rather than the air wrap.

      I agree about the absurdity of having to use an iron and other hair tools to make this work. If this doesn't handle pretty much all of my hair needs, or give me at least a complete look, then I'm not paying that much for a hair tool. Not that I would buy it anyway because of the price ;)

      I’ve never managed to do one proper curl with a curling iron or a straightening iron. Always thought I was just abnormally stupid with hair 😂 The air wrap is literally the only thing that I use now, other than the supersonic. I guess it was easier for me to get the hang of it because I never had to “forget” how to curl using irons and pick up a totally unfamiliar technique.
