There is a huge difference from speaking, to being performing live signing/rapping, you're using your voice completely different. Like hell, even Eminem sounds the same talking like he did back in 02-04, cant say that now when he starts rapping.

The golden age of hip-hop.... famous rappers were truly talented back then... most of the rappers that popped on to the scene after 2010 are nothing compared to rappers like Eminem or 50 Cent, Ice Cube, biggy, 2pac, Nas, The Game, LL Cool J, Jayz - just to name a few, I mean these guys RAPPED!!! G.O.A.T . Status ..... what is todays fan base thinking? "Gucci gang Gucci gang Gucci gang!" or " Bust down tathiana!" Really!???????? My god, so saaaaad.... real talk.

It started to change around 2013 for me. Suddenly I couldn't feel what was popular anymore.. I didn't know if it was all trash or I was getting too old. It's still not as good as it was, but I actually think it's getting a little bit better lately.

I stopped listening to rap around 2013 everything that popped was stuff like panda and auto tune shit...and rappers started to look more n more ridiculous like they started to look like a parody of themselves. Plus the trap beat taking over and everything sounding the same.
I only got back to rap last year, by browsing through.. Not into any mainstream big rappers today cuz they still be rapping abt the same material n girl stuff.. Only mainstreams I keep up with are Em, J Cole, Kendrick the rest are more with smaller fan bases that are good. But mostly I just listen to older songs or rappers from 90s/00s that's still active in releasing. I'm in my 20s with an old music taste.. Can't relate with ppl liking and making any artist big today..
@@emyf9197 Todays mainstream rap is like a different genre. I mostly hate the beats, the lyrics, the flow, the image.. Maybe I'm getting too old (30) for this.. I listen to those you mentioned, but many of the older gen seems to try to sound modern and it doesn't work. Jumping on generic trap beats switching up their flow.. you can almost hear that they dont know what they're doing.
At best I think some of the modern mainstream rap is OK, that's it. Do you have any recommendations?
