Oceanids: Low S tier, very speedy, good damage powerstack. I love personally love them so much!

Nymphs are Grotto feeders for me. Oceanids are high speed scouters unless we have Ayssids, but then Oceanids are Grotto feeders as well. They are rather solid in C tier if you ask me. Not much given to them and who gives a damn about their Ice immunity when their defensive stats are made out of paper?
You have a unit from Forge and not from Cove lol
putting skeletons in D tier because of micromanagment and stats, while influencing every single other unit by stuff around them and what you can do with them feels weird

The problem with putting skellies on the list is that they are either D tier on their own, or S tier if you consider you can have a billion of them from necromancy. And if you average it to B tier then you don't make anyone justice

@@lucasstr5653 For me- it is also week ~3-4 capitol. But that is because I want very slow maps- so I choose to play on impossible, and with house rules that make things harder/riskier, and only play maps that have basic resources very much blocked, so that it takes weeks to actually gather enough to build up to anything expensive/high tier. Just so I can experience tier 1, 2, 3, and weak armies longer..
I dont enjoy because he is only Plays jebus cross mod which butchering and streamlining the game, İts not heroes 3 anymore

Inferno would prefer imps because they are better on lava terrain.
Necro doesn't give a fuck they are all skeles at the end of the day.
Let's now consider a neutral scenario, where you are playing neither Necro nor Inferno but some other town, which one would you rather have - imps or skeles? Even if your troops are elementals or you have leadership and so morale is not an immediate issue?

7:43 You forgot to mention that the Pikemen and Halberdiers are immune to Cavaliers' and Champions' jousting ability, which I am sure that many H3 players didn't know ;P

My favorite class is the Necromancers so I love the skeletons. Especially since everything you kill adds to your army.

Playing with centauries in the start is really great IMO. If you have a master tactitian they can protect the elves easly in the start

Centaur captains are just super awesome looking, fast, hard-hitting creatures. Fun to use every time.
With Santa gremlins you leave the castle on the first day and fight everything that stands in your way without any loss.
halflings are actually ALL STATS-WISE +-better than master gremlins. Shouldnt they be on the same tier then? (only two differences are halflings have -2def but 1-3damage instead of just 1-2)
I think its because you can easily mass-produce gremlins meanwhile you will never get a halfling stack so big that it could ever deal significant damage. That's the major issue whit almost every neutral by the way.

sprites are S tier. Very fast, flies and gets no retalitation. There is a reason you need to build so many buildngs to get the update at town
Gremlins are underrated:) Initial stacks of gremlins are large, so in the end- they have a lot of meat, and that can compensate lower stats than, say, gnolls. ~35 Gremlins x 4HP=140HP, and do 35-70 (average 55) damage (vs gnolls, the damage is reduced by 5%, as gnolls have 2 more defence, thus it is 55*95%=~52 damage). And ~20 Gnolls x 6HP is just 120HP, and doing the same 50 damage.
The difference is even greater in SoD, where heroes start with just ~15-gnoll stacks.
And the same math applies versus pikemen: gremlin damage is again reduced by 5%, as pikemen have 2 more defence, and it is 55*95%=~52. And an average starting stack of 15 pikemen has 15x10HP = 150HP, but does just 15x ~2 = 30 damage (increased by 5% from higher attack, to just 31.5 damage).
So gremlins as meat should be placed high in B-tier.
Only 100 master gremlins will do 1000 damage, if a genie blesses them with a couple good spells. Frenzy & bless will be enough. 1000 damage with 1-2 base damage is fucking madness. And the genies rarely cast spells that make no sense at all. They are very often logical spells for ranged units. And who cares. 6 1 stacks of them will cast the right spells 99% of the time.
Once he has started to play with charts. Now hes unstoppable
Skeletons aro op man, played by pro players because of necromancy skill they are deadly
They are :D But what makes them so good is
1) Animate dead
2) Their insane numbers
The unit itself sucks so much tho ) Despite this these two factors make them one of the most relevant units in the entire game, despite sucking.

Seriously, upgraded skeletons as the worst upgraded tier 1 unit? Even without any micromanagement (which you put as a reason to put them so low) they are in better half just by overall numbers (best atk, coped with only 2 units, best def, coped with only one, third best hp etc., even their speed is low, but same as the half of other tier 1 units)
Hmmm you often consider things like "availability" of things in these tier lists, so with possibilities of necromancy Skeletons must be S
yeah, Skeletons in D tier is 100% bias and he really didn't hide it. Realistically they're top of A tier at a minimum.
They're kind of bad because they are only good when you have Galthran and a ton of them. But in decisive fights you may need to mix armies of different factions (especially in multiplayer fights). In this case Skeletons and all other undead units are a straight minus 2 morale. Still they deserved at least a low C tier just beside Skeleton Warriors because of the availability (either upgrade them in necropolis or keep all slots ocupied with Skeleton Warriors). Also no bless for the skellies.
@@Hardcore_Remixer Like yes, I agree that they're pretty trash outside of necro, but they also DEFINE necro in a way no other tier 1 unit can claim. Thanks to necromancy, they manage to stay relevant at all points of the game.
@@webbowser8834 I wouldn't be so sure about ALL points of ANY game. On jc eventually you must mix armies to get an actual strong army. I only once have seen a player gathering Skelies on a jc map and it was 2v2 so no ranking at stakes.

@@yanidimitrov3958 In squishiness, pixies is after peasants by my experience. But their potential to be upgraded to No-retal/faster Sprites... Err, I still don't like to use Sprites because they are too glassy cannons, so I don't waste a turn and money to build their upgrade building early.

Pros: best power stack, most influential t1 unit, necromancy, animate dead.
Cons: hard to play.

It's so strange seeing someone talking meta about a game I mostly associate with fun times playing around with as a kid.. Never really thought anyone played this competitively
Some adjustements I would make:
*Master gremlins at best would be A tier. If you can amass a good stack. They bleed too fast and likely will be too low to be of importance.
* Familiars should be B tier imo. also bleed too fast. They are melee, not fast, and deal low dmg.
*I don't think pixies can be A, should be a B, they also die quickly. And won't have substantial numbers to deal dmg.
*Halberdiers could be an A, but it is borderline B, not much better than pikemen
*Infernal troglodytes aren't much better than troglodytes and I'd say they are C.
*Haflings depend on the number you get. 1 dwelling = B, 2 dwelling = A, 3 or 4 might push them to S.
*Skeleton warriors are easily B or maybe A by just town production. With necromancy farm they easily are S
*Skeletons are easily C, maybe B by town production, and S with enough farm

F for Nymphs and Oceanids.. How would you rate them compared to pixies and sprites? Seem to accomplish more or less the same job with similar utility
No retaliation makes them clearly better than Oceanids imo. Kites almost anything like Harpies etc. Oceanids have hight max damage, triple the attack of Sprites so that's good. 1 less speed & teleport ability(for kiting again), but you get 16 more sprites per week. Both are very good.

Not any specific links. Just based on experience, when playing templates such as Jebus King, the go to choice for started hero is Ignatius, and then you use a familiar power stack to rush into pickets. This is the most common way to get started these days. A little while back it used to be Calh all the way, so meta changed over the past few years.

I think for the Meme of it Peasents should be S tier (as in the first letter in the word that describes them).
Peasant is not that bad can use for skeletons farming or demon farming and experience.
Obvious question but, when is Factory being added?
Sprites god tier first 2 weeks, when you clear a ton of fights you have no business winning and build fast

After a long time, yesterday I played the Grim Reaper map again (a map where AI Necro faction vs 5 AI/human other factions)... and this time I finished it (with my 8 year old child play-mode) with Wizard faction. I developed 2 characters: a wizard and a sorceress, planning that with one I will attack while with the other I defend. The sorceress got better abilities in the end, I used her more. I also got to have Dimension Door, Town Gate and Resurrect True (from two different finished magic guilds) which was like a real necessity... The AI almost always had some living units in their army (mostly peasants) so I could just blind them then used Resurrect True on most of my damaged army... The Knight and Warlock factions have fallen, the Barbarian and Sorceress factions in the end just ended up doing nothing (they were circling around the same spot, coming in/out of their castles, boarding and leaving boats...), maybe because I played on Easy difficulty or the AI allies there are just stupid. But still it was such a game! Holy cow... Found some results on youtube on how some people beat this map on impossible difficulty.
You mention hota but don't have cove units? Aren't they standard for most people playing these days?

Pixie is b tier, halfling is a, skeleton b and skeleton warrior also b, the rest I agree with.
There is an inconsistency: when talking about the skeletons you did not take into account the fact that they are the most influential tier 1 unit (even though you mentioned it). But you did take into account Troglodyte terrain penalty, sprites costly and difficult upgrade
Also, haberdiers will outmatch upgraded gnolls in every possible scenario maybe except trying to get through the swampy terrain on adventure map.

Imps are speed 5 and have an specialist. They're also in the castle that let's you sacrifice them for Demon's and with the Grail that could benefit them the most.

Im not very familliar with the HOMM3 meta since i dont play online so its crazy to me how low halbadiers are on the list, from my personal experience they can take on any tier 1 unit and come out on top even when out numbered and their speed is irrelavent since their main purpose to me is protecting marksmen and spongeing damage from ranged units in midgame. Other tier one units just feel way squishyer
Thing is, in PvP you have to play very optimally, and when you play optimally you don't really get hit a lot at all, or at least do your best not to. With this type of gameplay faster and more damage heavy units will end up coming on top. That's why Centaur Captains are what i would consider to be an almost perfect unit. Speedy enough to almost never get hit and also enough dmg to oneshot to not have to face retals.

I agree about the skeletons. they suck as a unit. if you could snowball imps they would be all the rage, but they are still imps. skeletons without snowballing them are pretty useless.
imps are easily the worst T1's for me, you said they were like goblins, they exchange 2 attack for 1 defense, have 1 less HP, and cost 10 gold more they are absolute trash to me, even with ignatius they aren't that good to me.
next to that i wanted to point out the difference between halfling grenadiers and master gremlins, halflings are about 1.5X better than the gremlins and are exactly 1.5X times more expensive, especially with tier 1 dwellings or hill forts wich have more value with halflings than with master gremlins i would argue that halflings/halfling grenadiers are better than master gremlins.
What about Cove tier1?

Skeleton SSSpooky Tier
Putting Halberdiers in B tier below Gnoll Marauders despite owning them in each stat does not make any sense. They have the most amount of raw stats compared to any other tier 1 creature while also having really good growth, and their only weakness is having -3 speed compared to centaurs but +2 defense. These tiers feel very emotional and based on "how it feels" rather than concrete facts.
Master gremlins being S tier is a little stretch to me. They are slow (5 speed), their dmg is only 1-2, and they only have basic hp 4 so if you encounter enemy hero early on map and enemy has thunderbolt whole stack is mostly gone.
Other stretch for me is Halabardiers being lower than gnoll maruders. Halabardiers indeed cost more but have 4 hp more, 1 attack point more and are immune to jousting. + Gnoll maruders gain, without additional building is lower
Master Gremlins are the only Tier 1 ranged units, and they can help greatly early on to avoid damage to your units against neutral stacks. Moreover with advanced bless they dmg is 3 which can be pretty big with their numbers. So S tier is not that surprising (though A could be a bit more accurate). His rating of Gnolls and Imps are certainly biased, both of them are trash units and of the worst in the tier, while pikeman and halberdier easily A tier. And skeletons are S tier without question, and he admits that his list is biased, so you shouldn't take it too seriously

Why Halberdiers not A tier? Their health and attack rate are high
1) Very rarely used due to it being somewhat unoptimal to build upg. Guardhouse.
2) Slow. Slowness leads them to get hit quite a bit, compared to centaurs who can slay everyone without getting hit, meaning you bleed less of them over the game.

A - Pikeman, Skeleton warrior, Master goblin, Gnoll
B - Master gremlin, Familiar, Sprite, Infernal Troglodyte
C - Goblin, Troglodyte, Skeleton, Oceanid
D - Gremlin, Imp, Pixie, Nymph
Usually at one point in the game I just ignore tier 1 and replace them with a level 7 of another castle. I mean. The slep is too much for such a worthless creature (expect for the skeletons).
I think peasants are level 0 creatures, not 1.

War Skeletons are very good actually, they have atk and def 6 and 6 and damage 1-3 and 6 health, why they are in C group??
Low usability. What I'm rating is their actual practical usage, not just looking at numbers without context. They are slow, so using them as a powerstack is difficult. Unless you have animate dead spam, you will be bleeding some in every fight that you take, making them very unpractical. And if you do have animate dead/ressurection spam, then that's the spells carrying, not the unit being good, in my opinion.

What is a pow stack?
Basically just a large stack of one type of creatures- the large amount makes them powerful
How are skeletons not easy S-tier, obviously they suck individually, but you can get like an infinite number of them very quickly and carry them throughout the game.

We agree somewhat with S tier, however Sprite in bottom A next to Pixie is just cringe. Imp obove skeleton?
Skeletons should be SS tier due to synergy.
I personally think skeletons are the only S tier, A tier:Centaur pixie and pikerman,B tier: Glolls master gremils and grunts, and C tier:The rest
