High flow catted downpipes are excellent. I installed the Fast Intentions full catted downpipes on my Q50 making a huge difference along with supporting mods. Thanks for these informative videos.
@@marqueseason6360 It's EcuTec tuned. A JB4 works pretty well too. Jacob at AMS remote tuned my car. I was one of the first Pure Stage Two turbo upgraded cars out there. 338 fuel pump and an AMS in tank fuel pump, Nostrom injectors, etc. The list goes on LOL.. I should have added Flex Fuel but didn't. 20/20 hindsight.

i have this downpipe on my 2022 supra. Stock exhaust, no tune, no intake. It made an already good sounding car, even better. There's a lot more pops and crackles and you hear them all, both inside and outside. It deepened the tone of the stock exhaust, and also made it louder esp from the outside...imo the exhaust note in perfect now. Also, you do notice the difference in increased power. Accelerating from 35 mph to 70 mph is noticeably faster and smoother. Its obv not gonna be anywhere close to a tune, but even without a tune you do notice an increase in power. The downpipe wasn't cheap but def worth it
@@chrisginoc seems really good! I’ve heard good things about AA too. But a few months now on this MST catted DP and it’s been great! Tons of Supra parts come from Taiwan. They have a big BMW support base. Great products!

Great video. I can’t remember, are you going to be running a jb4 on this car? If so I was hoping you could do a before and after dyno now that you have upgraded your intake and downpipe.
I'll be doing a full tune. Once I get the rest of my exhaust and make the car FBO, I'll do a dyno day to get a baseline. Then ship out the ECU and do all the tuning. And go back to the dyno! The dyno I'll be going to has had a few manual Supra's on them, so I know what a bone stock manual Supra should put down

It has an active valve and basically on and off. Valve closed is a bit quieter. Then valve opens in sport mode and makes a bit more noise. Sport mode also changes the engine tune and makes some pops and gurgles too

Hey man I ended up getting my manual supra! You should have tried the armytrix catless dp with a cat simulator because i havent seen any vids on it and heard it works well and has no cel and is cheaper and louder than a highflow cat. Im looking into getting one but ive been wanting to see someone run it in person. So far only heard stories from people in forums who have them. Just a suggestion but great video anyways.
Oh that’s cool! My GTR had their downpipes. The 02 sensors had a small housing with just a small pinhole in them. So they could barley breath the fumes. Pretty neat design!

Type R seem to be going for some good money! I know the new ones would be same or more then a manual Supra. Old ones are still into the 40s at least. My Supra was $62 OTD. A dealer had a Type R up for $63k sale price.

Not too sure. The factory recirc valve holds boost well and seems to not be a weak point. Not sure if vent to atmosphere would hinder power between shifts
@@boyutang6990yeah but for a manual a vent to atmosphere design would let all the boost our between shifts. The stock recirc valve keeps the turbo spinning between shifts. So not sure it’d be worth it or not on the manual. Be cool to test it tho!
Last month I visited ARK Performance who is headquartered 45 minutes away from me. I purchased and had them install their ARK DT-S full catback exhaust system. When they finished installing in their shop they said to make sure whenever I end up getting a high flow downpipe that whoever installs it makes sure to do a little soldering at the connection for precaution. Is the soldering part normal or are they just being cautious by saying that?
I've never heard anyone say that? What part would they solder? I had a downpipe on my last Supra for two years and we just directly installed it. Never had an issue. I don't plan on doing that for this car. Just replace the stock one with the new one and you're good. Make sure bolts are tight and you'll be good

Under the dedicated spots for jack stands. You'll see a plastic rectangle shape under the side skirt in the front and back. I have a rubber piece that fits into them and my jack strands

MST has a no check engine light guarantee. So they will replace the downpipe if it does throw a light. The car itself will still be under warranty from Toyota. However if the 02 sensor had a failure, Toyota probably wouldn't cover a new one since they could blame it on the aftermarket downpipe. But that would be the only thing they would have a problem with. We've sold over 100 of these and never had any issues. Love mine!
You answered your own question lol. This doesn't cause a CEL. Big deal for a lot of people. If I have a CEL my car cant pass inspection. Lots of people aren't ready to tune the car but want the downpipe. It's going to cost $3,500 to tune my car. Lots of people just aren't ready for that but can do a high quality catted DP and get the sound with no issues. And once tuned of course gain all the power. If you're going to get a catted downpipe that does throw a CEL, might as well just go catless.
Technically no. A dealer would have to prove this caused an issue. The secondary 02 sensor would be the only thing this could possibly effect. So if that sensor went out, it'd be easy to blame the aftermarket cat for that. But it doesn't effect anything else in the car.

Catless with throw a check engine light since it has no catalytic converter. You will need to tune the car. This high flow catalytic converter flows much better then stock and won't require tuning. Catless will give you a tad more power with tuning vs tuning the car with this high flow cat. Catless is also going to be louder and you'll smell more exhaust.

Correct! The catted downpipe won't throw a CEL, but you'll get much better then stock flow and good sounds! Very pumped about this part

From what I've seen, the manual makes 400 WHP. A local shop tested one. So It'll be cool when I get mine tested!

I think they are both identical. Don't think the transmissions are much different in shape. Beauty of an inline engine. Easy to work on!

not really, high flow cats flow really well these days. probably a ~3 hp gain with a tune going from catted to catless

Do the o2 sensors require a torque spec or can they be snug tight?
Not really. Just nice and tight. Havent had issues in any car I've removed the 02 sensors in. They always stay tight

Why is it so expensive, a vsrf catted dp is only 480 and theres some even less, other than the cel thing but if your going to tune it doesnt matter
