Hi. Good ole dad finished off the staging yard, nice. You had a lot of fun making this. And it shows. It’s really rather magnificent. Night time running was a great idea. Lots of great camera angles. The editing was real crisp. The blue lighting down in the staging yard, really cool. What a wonderful Sunday evening surprise. Thanks. Take care. See you on the next trip.
One of the coolest vids I’ve seen. Great music, lighting, editing, and presentation. Too bad there’s not an academy award for model railroading! Love your channel.
@@ModelRailroading that lighting fits, gives things an "underworld" feeling, or was it the music? Looks good. Oh, and the canyon footage was great use of the access port for filming.
I had not shot much video of the staging yard yet. So I went out the other evening to shoot video just for it. Took a lot of time. And I still feel like I just threw it together. Glad I found that musical artist. I think I used about 4 different songs. It was a lot of fun.
Without a doubt the most dramatic unveiling of a staging yard EVER! Congrats, I can only imagine the hours of back aches and hard work put in on getting that pinball machine running!
Long ass ride to staging, through the whole day and into the night without a crew change… dedicated. Great scenes on the run and nice editing and tunes. Like the blue lights for night running.
Very cool guys, I even think the music would have the official Downey Pacific seal of approval. John H here as opposed to John G, just dropping you this note saying; glad to see the down track, canyon, and that storage yard back in service. All of the old crew (those still with us) are very happy to see the SG layout get so well taken care of in its new home. The way you combined SG and NG layouts is a great bit of ingenuity. Keep the content coming as you can, but more importantly, run trains and enjoy the thing; it was made to be run.
Nice to see you got the staging yard working. Hard to believe its around 50 years old and is working still. You're using the same track that was on it when you got it aren't you? Neat video. 👍
the blue lights were very cool enough light to work but when you see the layout it does not take away from it. So who picked the blue LEDS? my money is on your Dad
Hello i want to add a little bit of information to your blue LED light ive used 12 volt 5 meter rolls blue and cool white in the ceiling in part of my layout i have put them in on my canadian half of the layout it gives that cold winter look ive also use 6 inch long cool white and blue under layout to light walk ways i think it looks good im just starting to put in 12volt LED spot lights in to light the layout room and i can then do away with the fluro lighting as in summer when all the fluro lights are on it adds heat to the room. i have also started to in stall Red trailer clearance lights to parts of layout where you have to duck under. Hope fully to help people not to bump there heads any way a great layout Thank you for sharing Andrew Australia
@@ModelRailroading Thanks yes it looks steep. I am considering a 3% grade to a stabling area and I think my locos will handle that but 4% would be hard work.
Loved the night time running. Good to see the staging yard is working.
We are happy it is running as well.

Thanks for the compliment. Sometime when I find music to put in to what I have edited. I go back and re adjust a lot of things.

Thank you very much.
This certainly wins the coolest music on a model train video! Very nice staging yard, and the blue light/ night running is phenomenal. Nicely done
Thank you very much.
Those were some great views of the layout. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
Really great train running in night mode, the music was good to.
Thanks.
With that music, I was waiting for sometime to happen, had me going. Great video. Staging tracks are always nice to have. Bob
I know I saw a nice looking pine tree in the video. Thanks.
Great vid, Don! I hope you understand how great your dad is! …Claude
I do.
Great work on the extensive layout. Interesting the blue light. Very cool layout and staging of course.
I like the light. It's not a natural color of course. But it's not like there's a bunch of scenery down there.

Best music match ever! Perfectly suited to the blue light portion!
Good to finally see that staging yard up and running.! :)

awesome cinematic effects. It really brought this video to another level.
Thank you.

Thanks. I get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Well done video!

We have changed non of the track.

I guess he has had the lights laying around for years. Not sure what the original purpose was for them. But I like how they look on the layout.

Sound like your layout will look pretty good once you are done with the lighting.
@@ModelRailroading hi you can also get off road light bars that come in various sizes. all 12 volt
Good idea.
Great work Dad. Just out of interest what grade do have on the run down to the staging yard.
I believe it is around 4%. It is a challenge coming up. if needed we have another idea to get down there. But we may just make do with what we have.
@@ModelRailroading Thanks yes it looks steep. I am considering a 3% grade to a stabling area and I think my locos will handle that but 4% would be hard work.
If we pull up a long train it will have to be split in two and need two locomotives.
@@ModelRailroading. Thanks Don, I enjoy your layout and video clips. Peter (from Australia)
