I think swarm is different though because it adds two 0 cost copies to your hand. They're different cards to the original. Stature seems more similar to things like miles and she hulk
Exactly, and, if you discard a 0-energy copy of Swarm, it does not regenerate new copies --- because the card's text has been silenced.
When the Swarm card is discarded it creates 2 new cards with a "natural state" of 0/3. . Statures ability modifies the existing card to 1/7 but it's "natural state" is still 5/7
And Death. It is a cost setting ability.
I agree this is probably what happens, but it's still a little weird because as I recall the Swarms are created with 2 as their cost and then immediately change to 0. I may be misremembering though. Regardless, I would expect Stature o go back to 5 when she's Leeched.
@@mohammadfletcher5312 you can continuously discard swarms. Just because it costs 0 does not mean the text has changed.
Stature costs 1 because of the card's ability. If you leech the card it makes sense that its cost goes back to the normal 5 mana cost. Using the same logic, swarm costs 0 because of the ability of the card that already got discarded and not the actual swarm in your hand so it also makes sense that leech cannot revert swarms mana cost.
Wow, nice observation!
Exactly, i came here to say the same. Also, when you leech a 0 cost swarm you remove the ability, so if it gets discarded again it will not create 2 more copies, he'll just be gone.
@@victormanjarinsala2253 exactly. So the leech on reveal works as intended for both swarm and stature
Swarms ability is: "When this is discarded from your hand, add two copies that Cost 0 to your hand". So the ability is on the discarded card, not the new one. Leech on swarm would remove the discard ability, NOT the 0-cost of existing swarms.
Final note: Leech does cancel the cost ability on She-Hulk and Death as well. So him disabling Stature is in line with previously established abilities.
Edit: Looks like I'm the 29384298th person to point this out, so ignore me, lol
Your question about why Stature's cost reduction in the case of a Leech gave me an idea for a potential series. I know you did a video recently of 'edge-case' scenarios, but I'd love to see like a sort of "myth busting" series. Each episode you take like five or six comments left by viewers on different edge-cases and you show what happens in those specific scenarios, and turn it into a series.
I'm often in a situation where certain card interactions leave me baffled, and would love explanations for them.
There is actually a person doing that already, you should be able to find him by just searching "Marvel Snap myth busters"
I'd love to see a breakdown of the new bundle datamines and the gold value of Collectors Tokens. I'm curious if the Deadpool bundle this week is still worth it.
Set to post at 9am central.
@@HooglandiaSnap Fantastic, cheers man!
@@joe.5103 New bundles for march
@@orcmaniac Yeah, and while he was rightly hesitant to put a value on tokens before, with all these additional data points it should be a bit more feasible.
liked just for the way you deduced your enemies plays in that first game, very nice :D
The 1 cost is an active effect. Nothing can change it without silencing the card. The swarms on the other hand change their cost when they are discarded,
I got stature last night and thought she was a series 3 card since I'm still series 3 incomplete (I don't keep up with card releases that much) -- nice to see a deck I can use her in since I thankfully have all the pieces this time around, lol
seriers 4 and 5 behave differently to 1 and 2. being 3 (in)complete is of no matter, you just have one S4 per 40 bexes and a VERY low chance for a S5 (true random. not like S4)
Same here. She's my first ever Series 5 card from the Collector's Reserve. On the one hand, it's cool that I got a Series 5 card. On the other, I wasn't particularly interested in her anyway despite already having Black Bolt and Moon Knight.
I kinda feel compelled to make a deck with her now, considering how she's spent a good amount of my luck.
Stature would be fun to pull. One of my most recent variants is the sweet Christopher Ward Blackbolt from the Saladin Ahmed run a few years back.
Leech works the same way with Death, makes sense to me since the cost reduction is the text of the card
I'm surprised you were surprised by Stature's cost effect getting leeched. That happens to all the cost reduced cards like Death and She-hulk.
6:25 Hey Jeff, I think that's could be a awesome future video, game stats and odds. thanks for the video
I built a similar deck, but mine has Black Widow, Quinjet, Aero, Kingpin notably. Black Widow is great w/ Black Bolt since you're reducing how many Draws they had that game, making Black Bolt's discard more impactful.
1/7 is now the best stat/cost ratio with the least hard-to-enable condition.
Mr. Negative is unreliable to get powerful statted cards, morales is easier to enable but it's weaker. Other good ratio-to-power cards have way harsher conditions like Infinaut, Death, Destroyer
Great release day video for Stature! Definitely makes me want to save a few CTs.
Picked up stature because honestly don't have any other cards in s4-5 that I really want (except knull which only works in the one deck). Maybe should have just saved my tokens for some of the cool stuff incoming but I digress. Thus far my best template for her has been in a devil dino deck. You just drop her, black bolt and moon knight into that deck and the added cards you generate buffer from the chance of you discarding one of your powerful cards. Also dropped in enchantress, because sandman really destroys what this deck is trying to do on turn 6. And there's a lot of that cancer on ladder ATM.
Apocalypse player here and I think the reason why swarm doesn't go back to two is because the card is destroyed and two more are created so it doesn't go back to their original cost cause is two different new cards and not like the price of the card changes like death, she hulk or stature
When I opened this in a tab, it had 11 likes. But now that I finally had time to watch it, it has 1.1k.
Looking forward to trying this deck, thanks!
I feel like im stuck in pool 3 because of cards getting run down from pool 4. can u make a video about this?
The game is poorly balanced with cards like Shuri right now yes.
I'm curious, if you wave-> blackbolt will it discard a completely random card, or will waves effect have worn off? Could be an interesting way of hitting more expensive cards with him.
I believe he hits the leftmost card but im not so sure about it.
Compare Stature to Miles morales the Miles Morales is really bad tbh, especially it's a season pass card. Feels like it should get the stature treatment which when a card move this game it cost only 0 I think 0 will be so better since a 1/5 isn't really that strong and doesn't work in move decks that well
I have 6k ready for series 5 card. Is it worth to buy Stature now or does Kang look more promising? In other words is she that good? Or more of the 50/50?
Kang looks like he can slot into more decks. Sature looks good tho but kang will most likely be stronger imo
Swarm is a 0 and not a 2 because technically, it's not the same Swarm that returned to your hand. It's a Swarm (or more accurately, a pair of them) that's now a 0 instead of a 2. Because it was added to your hand by a different card's text (Again, the original Swarm), and the card stated it was a 0, blanking this copy of Swarm will not affect its cost, since the cost reduction was not granted by a card in hand but by a card previously discarded and unaffected by Leech - but it will affect discarding it again, because this time, discarding the 0-cost Swarm that got blanked won't create a new copy. Compare this to Stature, whose cost reduction is dependent on its own card text, and NOT another Stature's card text.
TL;DR - What gave Swarm its 0 cost was a different card (Another Swarm), not itself. Since you only blank the card in hand, this new Swarm was always a 0. Meanwhile, Stature reduces its own cost as an ability, so blanking it brings it back to 5 cost.
With death, she hulk, and now stature ignoring/altering waves effect (not being a 4 cost…), I feel like the amount of odd exceptions needs to be sorted out for wave lol
There not exceptions they are just rules.
Think my favourite stature deck however ineffective is definitely the zabu wong blackbolt combo with a hazmat package thrown in there. I've never felt like more a terrible person discarding someone's death shehulk combo into luke cage hazmat stature
Is darkhawk still worth it to buy in the token shop after the nerf?
I need to test some more games with him, but early testing does not seem great.
Leech returns death back to 9 cost so it makes sense for stature to return to 5, no?
Was hoping for a new series 4 card after the downgrades. Got Sentry. Well, at least I can hunt another luchador variant when it comes out as those are my favorite variants XD
The craziest thing in this video is that Jeff had an inked Black Bolt ready to go already. How?
It was an important tech card in the beta against some combo deck. Which one, I don't know, but I've heard him reference it before
In the last game why would playing Stature have anything to do with Killmonger? He wouldn’t destroy her since she shows as a 5 cost on the board regardless of how much energy she cost when played. Like Miles or She-Hulk.
Yall are confused. I was counting if I wanted to spend the mana to play Hood out or not.
If I'm playing Shang, Stature and Titania the last turn my energy is all accounted for, so I don't want to play Hood.
Being able to draw Killmonger and play it means I want to play Hood because I can Demon, Stature and Titania alongside Killmonger. It's a discussion about energy efficiency and planning my plays the following turn.
@@HooglandiaSnap i misunderstood what you meant. Thanks for clearing it up.
one of the good interactions I saw with stature is wave, she doesnt get her cost to 4 she stays as a 1
just like miles
Yes, this is shown in the first game of this highlight.
As someone who has also taught stats at the university level, there's a whole lot of bad intuition people carry around about probability that it would benefit pretty much everyone to unlearn and replace with an actual understanding of statistics.
FWIW it seems fair to me that Stature goes back to 5 post leech because that’s her power.
Swarm is different because his power is creating zero power clones when he’s discarded.
I got this this morning, threw into my deck because for the past week its been nothing but modok decks, 40 games in a row not a single one.(mines wasn’t a discard deck) took her out and put my original card back in my climbing deck, try and take a guess what the first deck was I played against 🤦♂️😂😂😂 random my azz😂😂 can’t wait to hit infinite and play her in a real deck build for her
Understanding probability and statistics would make you way better at life in general, hahaha.
I hated them when I was a math undergrad but they are so useful, from watching the news, to sports, to psicology, to things like even handling your own money
This is nothing relate to the game but I wish there are animation on Black bolt and Shuri.
Like Black bolt release sonic wave at enemy avatar?I am just saying.
Stature might not be that great after the Sandman change right?
After playing with new Sandman for a couple of hours I'd be kind of surprised if it is a meta card. Have to wait and see though.
@Hooglandia Marvel Snap he seems like a ramp staple now
Does killmonger kill stature?
Cuz he said if he gets killmonger than something something i dunno if he meant killmonger would kill stature?
No because she base cost is 5 energy. Same for miles
No because when the card is played (on the location flipped up) it becomes a 5 cost card again. This is the same for all cost reduction cards like she-hulk, death etc.
I was counting if I wanted to spend the mana to play Hood out or not.
If I'm playing Shang, Stature and Titania the last turn my energy is all accounted for, so I don't want to play Hood.

black bolt highlight reel!
It would be a fun card to have, but the fact that you have to play Moon Knight and Blackbolt puts a damper on this card for me personally.
Black Bolt plus stature is 15 stats for 6 resources with a small bit of disruption. Above rate.
@@HooglandiaSnapThanks for the response.
Titania = Tie-Tain-E-Uh 😊
I wanted to learn statistics and improve, then my statistics teacher got annoyed with me because I wasn’t understanding the material 🤷🏼♂️😙😆
When you leech Miles, he goes back to 4 mana. So i guess its like that
wow i didn't realize stature would stay a 1.... no matter what - not even an iceman!
Dude.... Those variants
stature can get hit by iceman but still cost 1.
we need a longer duration
Shorter videos have better metrics unfortunately. Lotta people on this platform have shorter attention spans.

Ur probably one of the best ms players hooglandia the way u predicted death was amazing
Titania is pronounced like "titanium".
Shouldn’t Wave make Stature cost 4 ? Because her text doesn’t say Cost 4 less if the opponent discarded. It says cost 1.
I think Miles Morales costs 4 after Wave even is something moved right ?
@@ydgmdlu Go read my comment and the cards again. Death and She-Hulk’s texts say cost 1-less for each X. Stature and Miles say Cost one. Just like Wave says Cost 4. It is a very important distinction. When I play today I will test to see if Wave overrides Miles’ cost to see if it should also override Stature’s.
I just tested it and Miles functions the same way Stature does, so at least it is consitent.
