Sir kya hum ye bol sakte ha ki......wdv of department that is being sold (or) wdv of the whole company if the dept. had not being sold, "Whichever is lower" that'll be taken to calculate networth

a company having only one division (say pen manufacturing) sells it to another co. so will it be called as slump sale or amalgamation in the nature of purchase?
i think in this case it will be easy to compute networth as networth of division will be same as that of the company.

Sir, As you are saying that WDV on the last day of PY 23-24 is being considered for calculation of net worth.
Why was depreciation for PY 2023-24 for the entire block not charged?
WDV on 1/4/23= 20,00,000
less: sale on 1/9/23=(11,00,000)
value after sale= 9,00,000
Why is depreciation not charged on 9,00,000 @15%
then the WDV of the block as at 31/3/24= 7,65,000 ?
Consequently, Net worth comes to 24,65,000.
Thus Capital Gain comes to 58,00,000 - 24,65,000 - 28,000 = 33,07,000 ?

sir in the question while calculating closing wdv why we are not providing depreciation of 15% on block and just writing it as 9,00,000 closing wdv
Closing WDV is always before depreciation in Income Tax.
Openning wdv. 20 lakh
Less. Sell of machin. -11
Wdv relevent for depreciation =9 lakh
Less depriciation 1.35
= Wdv at year end 7.65@@StudyAtHome
