Hey man, appreciate this video. I just started flipping about 2 weeks ago and I am improving on my y2k and index finger chaplin but fanning just left me dumbfounded. As you pointed out, whenever I would try to fan, the blade is pointing up and I couldn't figure out how to get the free handle and blade flat. Trying to rotate with held handle with my thumb and index finger as you mentioned and I can kinda of get a good rotation with the free handle and blade flat but not fast enough to keep the momentum going. I'm guessing it will just take practice and building up the finger strength to really torque the handle to spin harder/faster.
I've watched so many videos on this and I still can't get it. I can spin it once. Not twice or over and over. I don't know if I just don't have the dexterity in my fingers to do it or what's going on.
If you want to spin it continuously you have to barely hold it. Let the momentum of the handle do the work. This method is to get a proper "launch" to start the movement. But it's not meant to continue the movement.
holy snap I twirl that way too! didnt know it was fanning' lol xD i need to watch youtube more. from that simple fan it opens up to more spins and fans like nunchuks. Btw, I have that same beard, islander aye?
Aye. Same. Think we just need more practice. Hope its getting better for you. Got mine (my sons 😂) last night for Christmas. I LOVE IT!!! And really appreciate this tip, bc I saw mine doing this, but didn't think it was a big deal besides the aesthetics of it
@@spaceedementia If your fan is still doing this, you can just loosen your grip and kinda move your whole arm in a circular motion, not just your wrists. Idk what to do if it doesn't work bc thats how i fixed mine
Ah dude...no love for the ballerina spin?! I always preferred that fanning cuz that's how I watched Matnotah do it. Can't really fan in ice pick because of it now. >_
@@knifezoid Are you using your pointer finger and thumb to keep twisting it after each rotation, or do you twist it once to make it rotate as many times as you want?
This video intrigued me, I can’t for the life of me do the ballerina fan - I don’t know how people can, it’s much easier to do it correctly. Also keep up the good work, been flipping a og tanto killer bee rep I recently acquired I’ve been chasing it for around a year.
My blade naturally sticks up from weight. So when I attempt to fan, it has the knife sticking up. I’ve been at it for days and hours but I can’t seem to get an intentional rhythm where it’s a proper fan. Is my Balisong just not properly tuned?
Thanks brotha, you explained it so much better then all these other big flippers did.
Glad it helped!
I was wondering how the hell you guys fan so easily. Great demonstration!
Small details!
Look at this man. The epitome of a pioneer.
Been looking for a tutorial on the fan with the fingers instead of the palm everywhere and I'm not even new to flipping. Thanks a bunch homie

Once you get it one time though it's automatic. So that's the good news!
This was SO helpful thank you
Glad it helped!
Only wondering if it’s better to hold the balisong closer to the pivots or more in the middle for fans?

Also "so give that sh- give that a try guys" had me dying
Thank you new to flipping want to learn correct and avoid bad habits... again thanks

Ima shoot for a BRS one day, pare. Keep up the good work
Thanks man. Appreciate the support 💪
Good video thanks
My fan kinda goes like sometimes its correctly horizontal and then the blade goes vertical and back again

very helpful
Its impossible for me, the handles are heavier than the blafe

How do you do multiple fluid rotations? When I try to twist the handle again after 1 rotation I always break its momentum and it looks choppy.
The key is to really relax the fingers and palm. You have to let the knife spin under its own momentum.
@@knifezoid Are you using your pointer finger and thumb to keep twisting it after each rotation, or do you twist it once to make it rotate as many times as you want?
@@AlexKD6 you're only twisting hard one time and letting momentum take over. If you try to make it too much contact you will kill the momentum.
Did you ever figure this out? Same thing is happening to me. Giving my fingers a workout 😂

Thanks! Killer bees rare
Thanks for the explanation.
BTW, why is your balisong so noisy? Because of the latch?
Channel construction
His facial hair makes him look like mountain goat.
I was born on the year of the goat 🐐

What you Flipping? Tightening all the pivots and spacer / scale screws does make a huge difference.
It is alpha beast clon ?
No.
Poggers for God
I still can’t do it
How do you control which fan you do?
By controlling how your twist the handled. Use the fingers for a more speedy "torque" fan. Use the palm for the loose type fanning.
i swear this is harder than behind the 8 ball and helix and other easy tricks i dont know how people fan
Once you get it it's like riding a bike. You just need to get it a couple times
@@knifezoid didnt expect you to reply so quickly. yea i think it will take a while for me to fully get. nice vid btw 👍
I suck at fanning 😤
