I just bought this book in Target for my 6 1/2 year-old boy four days ago. Didn’t realize he wrote it. 😅 It’s a beautiful book.
Black people need more books like this. 🙂

I think everyone needs more books like this. For different reasons. I also think people forget that these issues aren’t US specific. In Brasil - we just approached these problems differently. There is less fear of losing power and it allowed us to move forward with more grace. I digress. It’s a beautiful book.

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Sellers a few years ago and he is an incredible person. He is 100% accurate about this generation having no empathy. My own children can not relate to the struggle my grandparents went through in Europe as Jews and their struggle to get out and come to America!

I agree with him there's nothing wrong with learning about where other people come from. Learning their history and their culture and I agree colorblindness in that sense shouldn't really be taught. We should be aware of other people and having that empathy does help us to understand each other a lot better because there is an appalling lack of that that's why there's so much racism

Here’s something amazing I’m noticing. I’m catching up on my Trevor Noah from the last two weeks and loved this segment. I like to read the comments to see what my fellow humans have yo say, but I noticed that almost every single episode with another black person has a fraction of the views that have white or non-black guest.
What does this say? Joe Rogan got over 1 million views, yet something this powerful has less than 50k?!
We have a looooooong way to go it might seem 😔

The anti-blackness of America is unique. We have spent so much time taking what has happened to specifically black people and said no minority should suffer these offenses. Which is true but we continue to fail blackness and the hatred it uniquely receives. America has an anti-blackness issue, not just a race problem.
