    A beautiful revolver. I own a Ruger GP100 10-shot revolver with 3-point cylinder support and a 5.5 inch semi-lug barrel. Tyler Gun Works did my custom work and also tastefully engraved it. I love it and it’s my keeper.

    I just got one and shot it for the first time.... Double action is 9.5lbs, not bad for a rimfire. Single action is crisp, but a bit heavy at 5lb. I hope it gets a bit lighter with break in. Seems to be quite accurate although I didn't shoot it off a rest to see exactly how accurate/precise.... Love the way it looks, definitely a keeper.

    I really want one of these with the 6" barrel, but unfortunately I have been on a few waiting lists for some time now with no luck. I just don't understand why Colt wants to introduce a product to the public and not make it available for sale! What gives with these people?

    It would have been better if the cylinder was recessed for the rim cartridge like the S&W 617

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  10 місяців тому +3

      It doesn’t really matter on the .22 LR as it just doesn’t generate the pressures. Also in my experience, if you get some grit in the recess the rim can’t seat and it’s hard to get the grit out easily. With un-recessed chambers, you can just wipe it off with your thumb. Roy

    • @Doriamo
      @Doriamo 10 місяців тому +1

      @@fmgpubsyeah I’ve heard the non-recessed cylinders are better so they don’t get gunked up and affect the seating. I like the smooth end design that you can wipe down!

    Your ammo?

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  7 місяців тому

      For the feature article I wrote, I shot several loads. But my favorite is CCI Mini-Mags, mostly because they are available and the HP loads work great on small game. If you’re really splitting hairs with accuracy it pays to shoot a cross-section through the gun you get as each gun, even of the same model, will favor different loads. Roy

    Colt was an American giant. Too bad they digressed to the point they got bought out by CZ. They should be buying CZ. Should have been the other way around but our American government doesn't help corporations like other countries do. Here in the US, they try to shake them down.

      I think there should be some distinction made between the old Colt and the new, foreign-owned company. I prefer to call the new guns "Czech-Colts". Although the 10-shot capacity may be appealing to many, I'd shell out double the money for a nice older, blued-steel 6-shot Diamondback without hesitation.

    • @fmgpubs
      @fmgpubs  7 місяців тому +1

      I've had one of the older Diamondbacks but confess this gun is every bit as nice. I think the CZ ownership has had a good effect on Colt quality these days. Just a few years ago they were a real crap shoot. Roy@@Caje-zf8md
