I'm not sure if this has been said....but you will go down as one of the fishing legends along with Bill Dance, Roland Martin, and Jimmy Houston. Thank you for your videos.
Mr.Richard….. if this hasn’t been said 100 times it still isn’t enough……Thank You Sir for your knowledgeable and understanding of this sport ( SECOND TO NONE) in my opinion!! Over the years of watching you and not only learning but passing on your knowledge to others and I have gotten so much out of what you show and teach . I have become more skilled in something I love so much . The sport and world alike are Blessed to have such a fine teacher !! My hats off to you Sir …….Thank You again for everything God Bless You and Yours ….. look forward to the next one !!
You never know where the andrilogen is going to take you but you always know fishing is going to be fun and worth it even if you get skunked. That's what is so cool about it. Richard, you do everything possible to see we don't get skunked and doggone it all to dadgum if you ain't the best at that. And no that ain't just my opinion. 😉👍🎣🎣
Richard, I have to sincerely thank you. I just suffered through a 5 week bout of Covid. It actually was a bout that lasted three weeks and a relapse of another two. For a month of that time I had breathing issues, great difficulty getting a deep breath and constantly fighting to do so. During this time I spent many a night binge watching your channel. Doing so distracted and entertained me and helped get my mind of my difficulties. So, thank you, from the very bottom of my heart. You provide an amazing amount of information and you do it in an entertaining way. But you provide us with far more than that and I hope you know how much you're appreciated. God bless you and all you hold dear.
Now that crappie season is here, you know what that means fellas? He's gonna start giving us more AWESOME videos like this weekly now... 😮 WOOOOOooooOOOoooOO!!! 😅
I love that Richard is one of the only fishermen out there that will break it all down as much as he possibly can with the time that he has in his videos too show us all exactly what we need to do in order to become better and more successful fisherman. But, what I love the most is that he is a fisher of men. Not only is this the best fishing channel on UA-cam, but it is the only one that I subscribed to. Not saying there aren’t many other good ones, but for me personally I find everything I need in his. Hey y’all WHOO! Thank you Richard Gene.
And once again, I didn't buy the boat, truck, trailer, bait, nor rod or reel. I didn't pay the insurance, registration, tax, tags or even the fishing license. But, here I am again, on the water catching fish! Thanks again for bringing us with you, Richard. Blessings to you and Momma Sue! Oh and: WHOOHOOO! Go fishin' 'cuz it's good for ya!
Richard, Im not knocking other youtube fishermen, cause i like their content too, but your videos are so much more informative, they dont even compare.. You take the time to show what you're using as bait, and how to work it. Thats what helps everybody, not just videos of people catching them.. but (you) teaching how!! THANKS..!! Cause its gooood Fer me.! Whoo. Whoo. WHOO..!!
I am an avid fisherman up in Ohio who has been subscribed for a few years now. Your tips on how to catch crappie are priceless and have served me well on my own Buckeye Lake. Always enjoy how your humility shines through and above all your appreciation for what the man upstairs has provided for you. Blessed is right my friend......
WHOOOHOOO ❤Missed you my friend ❤️ Thanking you AGAIN 🙏 ❤️ for sharing! Im Hungry every time you show the slabs you catch, like the old days I've been living on lakes!
That RG concentrated efforts on open water utilising data to inform him of the situation as working the moment the way a fish hunter would was a good lesson/video to watch.
The things you described what a good crappie fisherman makes a note of " time of year, sun angle, water temp depth, ect." is exactly how we fished for Bass back in the day when we only had Flasher Units. I kept a notebook for all 4 seasons.
Thank You Richard for teaching me how to catch more fish! You Are The Best Ever On UA-cam, and we all love you and Sue! ❤ Loved the catch and cook video! Momma Sue is a keeper for sure!!! ❤👍👍 God's Blessings Always! 😇
Richard I have found a line smaller in diameter than most of the Power Pro 8lb braid. The Japanese make a line that is half the size and twice as strong in most cases. The size that I use is .6 goh for crappie. Sense I’ve started using that I’ve noticed that I get more bites. Not sure why that is. But it has been working.
Have to agree about mono, same goes for light, moderate action rods. It'll help keep small hooks pinned if a fish decides to jump and prevent hooks from ripping out their mouths if they yank
Thank you Richard for all that you do for us fishermen with all the knowledge that you give us with that being said what determines when you use a blade or no blade
Come up to Michigan Richard we can do some steelhead fishing and you can teach me all your knowledge of crappie lol God bless you and may the good lord be with you!
Love it I've said it before and I'll say again Richard Gene is a way better fisherman than Bill Dance. I've learned so much about how fish move around lakes and river systems and how to catch them from watching Richard's videos. And the thing is he shows you how to catch every single species of fish in your lake where Bill Dance is pretty much just a bass fisherman.
During colder months, water temperature is key. Warmer water means more and more active forage and therefore fish. During winter and early spring in the northern hemisphere, the north shore receives more sun exposure, which warms the shallows; especially in dark-bottom areas.
You the man . Wooooo! I love fishing with underspins! A vender at the local fishing show makes the heads and I paint , split ring and willow leaf blades on them , he makes 1/32 - 1/8 oz for me and l custom paint them . Will be fishing with them next month on Kentucky Lake! I also tie hair jigs too marabou and neck hackle . I pull them out from the back of the boat, depending on the wind and following the shad ! Thanks for sharing your expertise on crappie fishing early Spring.
I like catching bass but as you get older i think its better to catch fish you can eat. Crappie amd Yellow Perch are my fish. They are underrated fish. They fight pretty well. Taste amazing. Get a light action rod and 6 pound test. You get into 10 -15 inch fish You will have alot of fun. Good luck.
Richard, let me tell you about the best Croppie fishing trip I ever had the other day, and I wasn’t even going Croppie fishing. I took my kids fishing for channel cats off of the boat dock on Cedar Creek Lake. We were fishing with red worms live. We were casting them out as far as we could fishing on the bottom, and we was not doing very good. We had only got two. Well, I put a fresh worm on and dipped it down in the water right by my feet at the boat dock to get the dirt off of the worm before I cast, and a huge crappy come up and got the worm. So I started fishing right under the boat dock I was standing on with those worms and caught a massive slab Crappie for an hour straight .
I’ve been using six pound mono for years, like you say got that stretch. I also have tried the braid/mono it’s great caster but you have to handle slightly different 👍
I get so jealous watching you catching those big crappie. Don't have very many bigguns like that out here in Arizona. Been enjoying your vids for a few years now and never disappointed. I been wondering about your white-laced red tennis shoes. Haven't seen any like that over here on the West side for years. Are they still available somewhere? Please keep these fantastic videos coming for many many years. You are much appreciated.
Hey Richard, I've been watching you for several years and think you're great! Thanks for your insight and the videos. I look shallow, deep, in the river channel in the main lake and I see plenty of bait, still can't find them😢 do you any suggestions? Thanks and keep up the great videos
Always learn so much by watching your videos. I love your channel I used to go to Lake Washington, Mississippi for 20 years. the lake has gone to crap. Heading to Weis for the first time in two weeks. Any advice thank you I appreciate it.
Howdy to The Fishing Machine. I was wondering if you could tell us on future videos what lake or river you're on and also the location as to where you are at on that body of water?
If it helps any, most of his videos are on Weiss Lake, Guntersville Reservoir around the 431 bridge area and the South Sauty Creek area, and Wheeler Reservoir in the Guntersville Dam area. Pretty sure this video is Weiss Lake. All these are in NE Alabama.
Richard have you tried small rooster tails or jigging spoons? I live up close to Kentucky/Barkley and I’m going to give it a try this weekend just the see if I can get a bite. We’ve had the best fall in years
I wish I could do that but our bayous and lakes were I live don’t have all them camps and you probably have rock bottoms. We have lots of fallen trees in the water and sandy or muddy bottoms.
I'm not sure if this has been said....but you will go down as one of the fishing legends along with Bill Dance, Roland Martin, and Jimmy Houston. Thank you for your videos.
This is so true. Richard need a show on the Outdoor Network. He’s not only an amazing angler but he has charisma and class
Not true. Richard is in his own league. They wish they could be the machine
Agreed 👍
Facts

Totally agree
We love you too brotherman, God bless everyone on the other side of this screen. Amen
Thank you brother may God bless you and yours.
Richard Gene is a blessing and a fisherman in his own superior class
Mr.Richard….. if this hasn’t been said 100 times it still isn’t enough……Thank You Sir for your knowledgeable and understanding of this sport ( SECOND TO NONE) in my opinion!! Every season is crappie season fall and winter best time to catch them

Richard! Such an inspiration, you remind me of my Grandpa so much!!! I miss that guy, gave me my love of fishing!

You know Richard I go and watch your older videos and I just enjoy watching them. I learned a lot from them.

I fish a lot of quarries same seam to apply. I’m up north
I would like to see a video of you fishing for carp. I like going out every once in a while and catch a couple. They fight pretty hard.

Loved the catch and cook video! Momma Sue is a keeper for sure
I would love to see a white bass fishing video. Your the best!
Have to agree about mono, same goes for light, moderate action rods. It'll help keep small hooks pinned if a fish decides to jump and prevent hooks from ripping out their mouths if they yank
Some great tips for sure! We plan on doing lots of crappie videos this year!
Thank you Richard for all that you do for us fishermen with all the knowledge that you give us with that being said what determines when you use a blade or no blade

Water in central Missouri just got the ice off.
North shallow, south deeper. Thanks RG!
During colder months, water temperature is key. Warmer water means more and more active forage and therefore fish. During winter and early spring in the northern hemisphere, the north shore receives more sun exposure, which warms the shallows; especially in dark-bottom areas.
Rooster tails work great for Crappie & Bream as well

Love your videos!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Will have to try some of that "adriligin"
You, Sir...are a wealth of knowledge. Have you ever thought about writing a book on fishing for dummies?
"There he is!" and "Quit!!" Gene dropping all kinds of lines and knowledge all at the same time.

How do you like the placement of your fish finder? Did you put it there so you could see it from the back while running outboard? Thanks
Years of exprience right here folks and learning fish habits depending on time of year and water temp
