Nice video! To anyone reading this. As a former selective school student, don’t stress if you don’t get in! The exam is hard and you’re showing your work ethic just by preparing for this. If you keep working hard and smart like your exam prep, you’ll achieve more than the majority of people!
Yeah… can i just say that this years selective entry test for year 8s was extremely hard, I’m talking about the mathematics and I’ll blandly say it. do your grades contribute a lot to the selecting process? i haven’t done very well with my grades this year because covid got in the way (in which i used to my advantage and didn’t do anything). i’ve only gotten C’s, C+‘s and an occasional A/A+ here and there. i don’t think they’d have the time to check over them (other than being under consideration with the principal’s discretion part) because of how little time they have to correct them. i may be wrong but i suppose you can say i’m just making excuses to make me feel better.

Hello, Jayce. Fantastic video! (Sorry with the overflow of the questions, I recently found out about selective schools and so I'm trying to get the most out of it). Just a quick question: for the persuasive writing part for MHS and NHS selective schools. Is it going to have the same format as analytical writing or a little bit more different? Also, for the persuasive writing part, will you have to in-corporate 'fake evidence' (TEEL structure). Or (again) has the same structure of analytical?
@@JayceBatallones Thank you. :) Just another question: when we go to the examination, must we bring something like 'proof of identity' (Ex. A photograph of the student, passport etc to the exam) because the examination is only for people who are citizens of NZ or Australia.
Thanks for this jayce. I have a question, do you think mhs accept year 12 students? I mean year 12 transferees? I'm currently studying in SA but I plan to apply there on year 12.

@sco phone one last question have you tried doing these entrance tests before and if you have what are they like and what do they cover?
@sco phone thanks I sure will reach out on discord for the exams it really helps
@sco phone Hi but if i one or two of my subject is average or below average, and the others are superior, do I still have a chance? (because my maths are quite well, but my reading pace is terrible)
Hi, do you think it is too late to start studying for the test in December, when the test is in March?
Jayce the coding questions have popped up on scholarship exams such as huntingtower
makes sense, ACER is a different company that runs some of the scholarship exams. So the question types will most likely be different.
what scores did you get for JMSS to get into the interview
Demonic Saketh are you doing the jmss tests this year? aha
Hey Jayce, do you have any material that is most likely like the exam ( except from the vic website)?
Yes, my own exams that I have made and used with my current selective students are available for purchase on my website; jaycetutoring.com
Hi, the writing is either a persuasive/analytical or creative writing. The persuasive/analytical should follow the same formatting. I hope this helps.

Hi, MHS only accepts students for year 9-11. The only school that accepts year 12 is EBS/UHS.
@@JayceBatallones only? do you mean it's the only school in melbourne who accept year 12s? Thank you for a helpful information!
Yes, it is the only “school with a selective entrance exam” for year 12 entrance. The other selective schools do not take students in for year 12.
