Philips DL224/94 Prince Radio is Mechanical tuner 3 band AM/SW/FM radio. It uses a SI4825 A10 entry level mechanical tuner IC. I have personally checked and confirmed the IC in my Radio set.

Namaskar Sir. Fab comparison from your end. Months back when I rebooted my Radio Listening Hobby after binge watching your major offerings and review videos, it was D-219 that helped me to fall in love with MW & SW Bands. Apart from owing Tecsun PL-380, it was D-219 that kept me hooked AM Bands and provided me some of the most memorable Radio Listening experiences altogether. Radio Ceylon being the very first frequency that I tuned in this radio and from that moment, I never looked back.
Showcasing D-219's might on MW alongside Tiger only proves its prowess. For the price, it's a must have radio for any India based SW Lover. The only minor con that I experienced was its muffled sound due to unalterable 3kHz Bandwidth on MW & SW Bands. But for the price, it can easily be sidelined. The tuning is smooth, band switch feels sturdy and build quality is class apart. I never owed Tiger so cannot say much about its capabilities. But from your review and comparison videos, Tiger seems to be a weak receiver. And not having any SW Band is its biggest con. Your upcoming comparisons on 9700DX is something that I'm waiting for. Hope to have em' soon. 73! 🙏
Thanks so very much dear Harshit ji. So very neatly summed up by you. D-219 is cool. Tiger is not bad either as it is good in build quality and for reception around major FM/AM stations, it is sufficient.
But in far away areas, it will struggle in reception area.
@@pravindersheoranji, by no means TIGER can be called a bad receiver, but for the price, it lacks in some departments. As you already quoted, for distant regions, this Radio would face quite a challenge to tune the frequencies. And not having a Shortwave Band can frown a SWLner. For Tier 1 & 2 Cities, this could be a good radio considering its build quality, reception & sound accordingly. 73! 🙏

Tiger ka medium wave kuch khaash nahin hai. Reception ki baat alag hai lekin medium wave par iska sound kuch bahut achha perform nahin karta.
Mere paas tiger hai aur mujhe yeh lagta hai ki d 219 bade speaker ke atirikt har maamle me Philips tiger se behatar hai .

Bahut bahut dhanyawad Karunakar Bhai ji. Bilkul sahi kaha aapne, MW par Tiger ka sound mujhe kabhi pasand nahin aaya, halanki FM par achha hai sound. Tiger bas build quality mein thoda solid lagta hai D-219 se. MW reception mein kahin nahin thaharta.

Ji, Sandeep ji. Analog Radio bharar mein bane mil jayenge aapko, unmein SW ke bands bhi mil jayenge par build quality kamjor hogi aur itni facilities nahin milengi.
DSP Radios mein SW ke bands bhi alag mil jayenge aur range bhi full, jaise Xhdata D-219 ya D-328.
Any legendary radio in the past which has all the above qualities, if you can suggest.

Both Radios are average in battery consumption. But since I have a lot of Radios, I haven't checked the duration of battery consumption in any of the Radios.

Tiger philips RL191 ek faltu radio hain....Koi mat lijiye, iska tuning bahat hard hain or full volume main noise ati hain, MW reception bohot ghatiya .....Isse to bazar se Rs.500 main chaina radio achcha hoti hai.
