It was a challenging year, but I am working at posting regularly on UA-cam again. Thank you for your support and for being here, it means the absolute world to me ❤️
I got my knee-high, chunky, cream boots from H&M. I was so glad I had them upstairs, when my downstairs flooded last Sunday (Northern California storm), my others were downstairs, floating around in the flood water! Surprisingly, my new H&M faux-leather ones were watertight and allowed me to walk dry-footed through the water. They make no claim of being waterproof, unlike expensive ones I’ve had that did, but them leaked like crazy. I don’t think I could wear plastic-leather boots like this all day, they keep the feet too damp, but they’re great fun for going out in, love them! When I was a teenager, I got athlete’s foot from wearing the same pair of genuine-leather boots every day, it took years to get rid of. So now, I’m more careful, limit the time wearing plastic ones to a few hours, and never wear the same pair of boots, even leather ones, on consecutive days. I like to give them two days to dry out thoroughly inside. If visiting family or close friends, I take my house shoes, Steggmann wool clogs, and change to them indoors, most of them don’t allow outdoor shoes inside, anyway.
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry that happened. I hope there wasn’t too much water damage and your home and belongings are ok! I prefer leather myself, they definitely keep your feet a lot warmer. I definitely think it depends where you work! I work at a bank and I would 100% wear it with some tights!
