    I just bought 2 wave armor SLX5’s yesterday. Driving home with them on my trailer at 60mph one of them flew off twisted in the air and landed in the ditch... I thought oh no its going to be ruined... we found it with a few scratches in the plastic but no cracks or issues at all. These things are made like true armor. I am very impressed with the quality!

      Should have tied secured it down Knuckle Head

    How about showing a vertical cut across the width of the unit.

    Installed one two years ago, have to move it from its original home due to changes in water levels on the lake so I was searching for some confirmations of my plans. Watched this again and recalled how it impressed me into buying it,... I am very happy with this product. Wished it was my first solution. Would of saved some time and dollars. I leave mine in, the whole docking system, all year with air bubblers in winter. Like the extra wide size, rollers work great, takes some time to figure out., Did put a old float on the nose to address someone over powering to get onto the ramp and hitting the bow. Not really an issue once you have done it a number of times. The trick is to enter the port at the right speed. To low and you will roll off. Some riders try to power up once on the ramp, but the jet ski has no power being out of the water. Just be sure the installers who use the two poles options, that the poles have holes so you can screw them into the lake bottom , some installers use machines which means if you have to move , you have to dig them out, which is possible but could be avoided,. Recommend this product, hope this helps you

    Thank you for the demonstration. Very impressive. I have owned this same port for 5 years now. I did my research before buying and came to the conclusion it was the best out there. Especially after I had heard about other ports sinking. This is a great product with adjustable wheels for different brands of pwc's. Worth every penny and then some.

    Glad you did this. It's clearly fragile with a very thin skin that can easily be punctured and damaged. Without internal ribs for added strength, you basically sell Pelican cases with Styrofoam injected inside the shell cavity.
    I always assumed there was robust internal rib cross bracing.

    I likewise did a TON OF RESEARCH including talking with the owner, Rick, in depth, prior to investing in a dock. I use the word investing because a good dock system is not a minor purchase. Let me tell you, this is a fantastic product. I have had the product for a few years now and have needed Ricks help a couple times. You may not believe this but he calls me back, on weekends, to answer questions. He goes out of his way to do whatever he can to keep me happy and satisfied. The product has done well on my lake, The Great SACANDAGA, located in the Adirondacks of NY. This is a lake whose levels are constantly being manipulated and that creates unique challenges not everyone will experience but the Wave Armour product has stood up to the tough conditions like a champ. The other thing I like about Rick is that he is constantly improving his product and he stands behind the warranty. I had an issue with a jet ski port and Rick just sent out replacement parts, but they weren’t the same as I originally purchased, they were the new and improved version. He did this no questions asked. This is a man driven to perfection and that’s who you want to purchase from. I realize I may sound like I work for the company but I don’t, I’m just a very happy customer and trust me, I have written many reviews of companies that were, like this one, very truthful and honest, but very negative because the product just didn’t live up to the hype. Do your research but in the end, buy from a quality company that stands behind their product.

    He’s right. It won’t sink if it gets a hole in it but over time the foam will suck the water inside of it making it very heavy. It’s just like raw foam that used to be under old docks. You try to remove that stuff and you have to cut it up because over the years it takes water. I would also like to see where the holes are where this is foamed. There has to be holes where the heat rods would go down into the foam to heat the beads up for fussing them together to make the block. I want to see the middle cut in half and see how the foam is there.

      Exactly it's always fun having to cut up a port in to chunks and lift 100 lbs chunks out of the water to replace these things

    WARNING - Wave Armor will NOT provide stamped engineering drawings to show they meet Florida building codes as per PASCO County permit requirements!! Their Florida representative is telling me that is my responsibility and could cost $600 or higher!! I bought brand new 2 SLX6 ports with extensions from Wave Armor. All are sitting in my garage!!

    • @stephenwhite5444
      @stephenwhite5444 2 роки тому

      Sounds like your county is crazy. You want to free up space in your garage? I'd buy them if it's a real good deal worth making a drive.

      @@stephenwhite5444 I think you will see all Counties are consistent with permitting requirements!! People are not following permit requirements and Wave Armor are not providing stamped engineering drawings!!

    • @stephenwhite5444
      @stephenwhite5444 2 роки тому

      @@joegernentz no, typically a permit is not required to just put 4 2" poles 3' into the ground for a ski pad. It's not considered construction.

    • @joegernentz
      @joegernentz 2 роки тому

      @@stephenwhite5444 there is more than just placing the poles in the ground!! Placement of floating docks in canals and water ways; Agreement with neighbors of installation; Consistency with design; Safety!!
      The problem I have is Wave Armor, their representatives, and contractors knowingly installing their floating docks without telling homeowners they may or may not need a permit!!

    • @stephenwhite5444
      @stephenwhite5444 2 роки тому

      @@joegernentz I've installed them, it's literally 4 poles in the ground that go through holes in the float. Now you may have issues with your neighborhood but that is very rare for something like a jet ski dock. They aren't making a one off product just for you that meets neighborhood specification and such...that is up to you to research and determine because this isn't a custom built product like a custom build fixed dock that has to be engineered and such. This is a off the shelf product that many homeowners install themselves by just driving 4 poles in the ground. It's absolutely nuts that your area would even require any kind of approval or permitting. Very rare for something like this. And any engineered drawings would have to be done by a local engineer who draws your current configuration, water depth, slope, any preexisting structures, then adds the floating pad...how could the manufacturer do something like that even if they wanted too???
      All they could send you is a drawing of the pad....what good would that do? Anywhere requiring engineered drawings for a permit wants to see engineered installation drawings, not a picture of a pad. This would require an engineer and a contractor to make formal drawings of your area. Like I said, unheard of and ludicrous for something like this. When getting approval don't call it a "dock"....call it a "floating jet ski parking pad". Many places even consider them temporary because they are easily removed and a lot of people do in fact remove them for winter. I pull one out of the water with a boat lift when it's not being used.

    Can the unit be mounted from the side of the port to a floating dock or does it have to be from the front of the unit?

    I have had the wave armor 24 for 1 year-it has been a nightmare and my local support can seem to figure it our or make it work-I have a Yamaha FHS 210 . This port is a nightmare to ge the boat off, I ='ve called customer service, had my installer out-bot time told me to buy larger wheels-) results. I made a pully system simulat to jet docks but it is simi functional. I'm about at my end on this-i just want what i paid for -no problems . if anyone has any answers et me know>i have videos of the damage to my hull< bad contact on the loading and unloading - not looking to put down product but i am at the point these do not work for large jet boats. Will wave armour take the product back?
