Something I feel is overlooked is the relationship between Soren and the Dragon Queen that was even shown in the previous season. Soren clearly respects her authority and cares about her as he would any friend while I'm fairly certain Zubeia finds Soren to be endearing and funny as she laughs at his jokes. I just think their friendly banter is cute.
Yeah, it's cute. Soren's found a dragon friend that he can actually talk to, instead of trying to interpret growls, roars and, in Zym's case, squeaks and Zubeia kind of reminds me of Lujanne's view that Soren is a "strapping young idiot". However, she's never condescending towards him. Similar to how Rayla saw him at the end of Season 3, Zubeia sees that there's more to Soren than a muscular blockhead, so they just bounce off each other without any hint that she sees herself as being above him. Honestly, that's one of the things that makes Zubeia a true queen. She's one of the most powerful creatures in the series, second only to Aaravos since Avizandum was killed, yet she never acts like she's above the "ants" that her late husband used to stomp on whilst protecting the boarder. I get the sense that Zubeia helped Avizandum become a much more gentle and loving creature than he was before they mated. She's the kind of person who can see value in anybody. Zubeia's humility kind of reminds me of Queen Elizabeth's approach to ruling Britain. All that authority and wealth, yet our late Queen saw herself as a servant instead of a ruler.

I don’t think it was sudden. Some of the end credit art shows him as a kid, lovingly playing with dragon dolls. Then there was that scene in S3E9 where Soren unchains the dragon, and they gently touch cheeks.
Soren's shown to have a dragon plushie as a child, so I think that whole having 'slay a dragon' on his bucket list thing was due to all the crap his father no doubt put in his head
The Dream Of Zubeia and Avizandum's Reunion Just Broke My Heart So Much. Their Love Was Wholesome and Beautiful. It's Also Heartbreaking Because You Can See How Much Zubeia Still Grieves The Loss of her mate, her love, Avizandum. They Humanized Him Beautifully 😢😢
Zubeia and Avizandum's reunion was the best scene in the season. Domina Profundus' appearance was awesome but it was literally just a cameo in an episode named after her, plus she never showed up again. She was completely wasted in a season that should have had her being one of the main players like Rex Igneous was at the end of Season 4. Zubeia's hallucination of Avizandum had more weight behind it. It didn't just exist to move the plot forwards like Domina Profundus' cameo did, it existed to show what was happening in Zubeia's mind while her body was failing her. Perhaps the most heartbreaking thing about it is that Zubeia was completely aware that she was dreaming. She didn't delude herself into thinking that Avizandum had somehow come back to life. She knew he was gone but still reached out to him out of sheer desperation.

Zubeia manages to steal every scene she's in, unless she's sharing it with Aaravos or Domina Profundus. It's a testament to the writing, animation and Nicole Oliver's voice acting that Zubeia can have such a huge presence despite being so late to the party since she barely appeared in the first 3 seasons. Zubeia's relationship with Soren is really cute. She speaks and carries herself like a true queen and her gentle, caring nature is balanced out by the overwhelming power she wields. She's probably the only creature in the world who could stare down Rex Igneous without saying a single word. Even Avizandum and Aaravos would have said something but Zubeia scared Rex off with her presence alone. Seeing this seemingly invincible creature so vulnerable at the end of Season 5 is such a stark contrast to how powerful she usually seems.

Also, Zubeia's dream about Avizandum and their subsequent conversation is the best scene in Book Five: Ocean. Zubeia's banter with Soren in the wake of the corrupted banther bite was surprisingly touching.

YES I LOVE HER INTERACTION WITH SOREN it’s so cute and wholesome. He very clearly cares about her in the way someone would chop their own toe off for their best friend and I love that for him.
I honestly love Zubeia as a character, and wish she was more prominent during season 5, but it makes sense why the series needed her out of commission. She's too powerful of an ally for the good guys to have. In order to increase tension, the dragon queen had to be put into this bad situation. The worst part is that Zym and most main characters are still not aware of what happened to Zubeia, and Soren is the only one who has any idea that something is wrong. Hopefully nothing bad happens to Zubeia next season, for Zym's sake. He's too young to deal with the complications of being an orphan dragon prince.
The Mushroom Mage might be a relative of N'thaan. They kind of look alike. I think the magic the Mushroom Mage conjured is recently discovered as he could help treat the still-infected Sunfire Elves like Pharos. Also, good to hear Chris Metzen's Warchief Thrall voice as Avizandum.

I can not get enough of the dragons in this show, especially Zubeia. I love the light the show creators decided to put the dragons in; they are huge, powerful creatures that should be feared and very obviously different from people and elves. But, they are just as human as any other character. Zubeia is the best example, of course because she is closer to the main characters, but I digress. She has depth to her character, in most of her appearances she is rather calm and collected, while seeming more stoic and dangerous when she is present in some sort of face-off. But, when she was sick from her corrupted wound and her dream of Avizandum was shown, the deeper parts of her personality and struggles were shown; she feels grief over the loss of her husband as much as any human would, and she has an obvious longing to be with him agian, but she's been staying strong for her son, who she shows just as much obvious care for as any human mother. She says that she has 'no stength left', which could be seen as simply an effect of her injury, but it could also be seen as her admitting to tired she is after holding her head up and being there for her son for so long after Avizandum's death. All of those emotions and feelings are very real, and something you might expect from a person in her position. But it's not only the attention to her emotions, its also how shes animated. Her appearance is very clearly a dragon and not anthropomorphic or like a 'furry', but she's still animated with just as much visible emotion as everyone else. You can see pain and longing in her eyes during her dream and determination when she tried to fly to get help. The 'hug' between Zubeia and Avizandum and the ensuing conversation shows just as much love and care between them as basically any exchange between lovers in season 5. She has interactions with human characters in the same way as any human & human interactions might go. She is treated equally by the narractive, as a complex character, more then just a dragon. She expresses the same amount of emotion as sveryone else, without her design having to be made to be more human. Its not quite the same for every other dragon, but there are definitely a few who are given a chance to have a bit more depth then just being a dragon. Like the red one from earlier seasons (i forgot if they had a name or not), they were shown to be intelligent, and that they could form connections past what just some beast could. Of course there is also Zym, who has grown both figuratively and literally, from being just a baby dragon that was more of a plot element then a true character (i said what i said, i know people may not agree, but to me he was just really bland when he was a baby, the only thing he had going for him was the fact that he was cute and that he was the dragon prince) to feeling closer to being like a real part of the main cast. There was even that water dragon who antagonized Claudia, they were painted as more of a beast then the previously mentioned dragons, but when they were captured you could clearly see the emotion in its eyes and expression, despite being unabke to talk. Sorry about the whole ramble thing, I just love dragons and im super happy to see them getting more depth for once while still being completely beast-like instesd of them being made into some sort of humanoid or human-shifting species.
Yeah, the only worthwhile thing about the pirate arc was seeing Villads again. And Callum using Dark Magic again to be fair but we didn't even see him do it. Even Nyx was only there for fan service and brought absolutely nothing to the story. For goodness sake, why didn't they give Domina Profundus a proper role in this season? The Archdragon of the ocean got a cameo in the episode named after her, then never showed up again in the season called Ocean! Season 4 got a bad rep when it came out but it's better than Season 5. For one thing, it remembered that this is The Dragon Prince so Azymondias was given a real role instead of just tagging along like a pet in Season 5. Plus, Rex Igneous had 2 episodes dedicated to him so that we could actually get to know him while Domina Profundus was only given 2 lines at the very end of her episode.

What the hell were they thinking?
She ain’t because Mushroom Mage is healing her. The writers only got her infected so Callum and the others can get to the prison on their own. And once they got the prison, they decided to instantly heal her in the finale.
Don’t fear who ever the Mushroom Mage is he’s clearly a very powerful kind mage if he’s able too heal a dark magic corruption with little effort out of pure kindness

I had this theory that in the next season, Zubeia and Mukho, the Mushroom Mage (aka the Earthblood Archmage), would play a role in Janai reclaiming Lux Aurea from the corruption. Zubeia, along with Mukho, heads to find Team Zym, but would later find out that they are no longer at the same area. They head to Janai and Amaya in case if they’re there, but still haven’t seen them. This is where it’s likely possible that Corvus would remember that Zubeia got bit and infected which would lead them to realize that Mukho’s magic can heal the corruption. This revelation would surprise Janai as they can use Mukho’s magic to reclaim Luz Aurea. However, that’s where Karim and Sol Regem would arrive to both overthrow Janai and Zubeia. Zubeia, likely due to Mukho’s advice to her, apologizes to Team Zym to hold on for a little longer while she deals with Sol Regem, since she doesn't know where they are at. Janai would likely tell Amaya and Corvus, possibly being instantly healed by the mushroom mage, to take Mukho to Lux Aurea along with soldiers to help him heal the sun forge. Both share one last kiss before departure. During the fight, Sol Regem would likely throw some hard blows on Zubeia, whose powers were likely weakened due to the corruption, where he would reveal that after he’s done with her, he’ll kill Zym when finding him to make sure no one gets the title of King of Dragons. This angers Zubeia, where she would go all-Thor on Sol Regem and put him in his place by reminding him that she's still the queen of dragons. Meanwhile, at Lux Aurea, Amaya, Corvus, and Mukho would arrive at the top of the sunforge where he uses his magic to heal it. And once the battle has cleared, it would end with Pharos being possessed by Aaravos and would tell Zubeia that while Callum and the others managed to get his prison, they still failed as he was released.
I absolutely hope that she is saved from an undeserveable fate. A specimen of such pride, grace, intelligence, beauty, and especially potential is far, FAR too profound to be lost or wasted, EVER.
Enjoyed her in both Books 4-5 and looking forward to her in Books 6-7. I was relieved when she was getting healed by the Mushroom Mage, Mukho. I'm also looking forward to her fighting Sol Regem in Book 6 as Karim will use the Sun Seed to restore his eyes, which would lead him to take his place as King of Dragons. Considering how they lost their only hope of restoring Lux Aurea, Mukho's magic being able to heal the corrupted, and not knowing where Team Zym is, Zubeia will likely participate in the war for Lux Aurea.
Zubeia will be fine in the next season but I think she should tell Team Zym about her bite's infection and her healing and the stranger earthblood elf who help her because if she needs something there are people who care about her and her son, they're not alone

Zubeia was so cool in this season and I won't be surprised to see people ship her and Soren but it would be weird but I can see it happening and her talking to Avizandum was so heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time but I'm still lost on what is happening to Zubeia with the mushroom mage is he healing her or his he prolonging the effects it wasn't clear on what is going to happen to her but if they kill her off in either of the next two seasons I will be furious because she is too perfect for the show not to have and witch stare down is better Zubeia vs Rex igneous or Zubeia vs Domina Profundus what do you think and last thing I have a theory since we haven't seen the Archdragon of the moon or the Archdragon of the stars they may appear in season 6 or 7 because the crew is going to get the novablade and the I can't remember the crystal names but get the crystals to free Rayla's parents and Runnan from the coins and since both are very rare objects they will obviously be guarded be someone very powerful like an Archdragon or archmage so what do you think about that theory also I think Aaravos may be afraid to face Callum in the future seasons because he doesn't know Callum has learned the ocean arcanum and we know that Aaravos can wield all magic which is what makes him so powerful and I know he possessed Callum in season 4 but that was when Callum only knew one magic know he knows more spells so if Aaravos is set free he may fight Callum and what I meant by afraid is he doesn't know the true power of Callum but yeah I would like to hear what you think of this.
She won't die anytime soon cause she still have a fight against Sol Regem in the next seasons. My prediction is Karim gonna heal Sol Regem's eyes and he will have a big fight against Zubeia for the throne.

I still can't believe she voiced by princess celestia from mlp. I never watched mlp (aside from clips for the sake of voice comparison) and they sound so different. Maybe because they use different emotions while talking. One is sweet and joyful the other is authoritative yet gentle.

Queen Zubeia is a Storm Dragon. In my Head Canon, out in the Far West from Xadia, the Merchant Sailors of the Barria Empire have a deep Fear and Respect for the weather. Why? Because despite the fact that the Ships of the Realms of the Far West are made of Iron and Steel, many have still sunk thanks to violent storms. And any being able to Conjure up Huge Storms will certainly gain the respect of the Sailors. I have based the Ships of the Barria Empire off the Real World Ships of the Great Lakes in North America. Heck, the Barrian Continent has 5 Huge lakes that are just as, if not more larger then the Sea of the Castout in Xadia. These Lakes are The Great North Lake, The Shadow Water Lake, The White Water Lake, Lake Wachanube, and The Great South Lake. As their are the 5 Real World Great Lakes, their are the 5 Great Barrian Lakes. Note that all of the Barria Empire & Western Realms stuff is not Canon, and is my personal Head Canon. Most of the conflict in The Dragon Prince only happens in Xadia, and is thus isolated to that area. So Because of how Isolated Xadia is from the rest of the World the Dragon Prince takes place in, I like to imagine my Nations and ideas as Canon, but in the end, they are My Ideas.
I like how she looks like a dragon and yet a bit feminine. She seems slender and lacks a beard. I’m glad she was overly humanized. I don’t mind that if both sexes are drawn like that, but I hate when one gender looks more closer to a monster or animal and other gender looks more human looking.

I can not get enough of the dragons in this show, especially Zubeia. I love the light the show creators decided to put the dragons in; they are huge, powerful creatures that should be feared and very obviously different from people and elves. But, they are just as human as any other character.
Zubeia is the best example, of course because she is closer to the main characters, but I digress. She has depth to her character, in most of her appearances she is rather calm and collected, while seeming more stoic and dangerous when she is present in some sort of face-off. But, when she was sick from her corrupted wound and her dream of Avizandum was shown, the deeper parts of her personality and struggles were shown; she feels grief over the loss of her husband as much as any human would, and she has an obvious longing to be with him agian, but she's been staying strong for her son, who she shows just as much obvious care for as any human mother. She says that she has 'no stength left', which could be seen as simply an effect of her injury, but it could also be seen as her admitting to tired she is after holding her head up and being there for her son for so long after Avizandum's death. All of those emotions and feelings are very real, and something you might expect from a person in her position. But it's not only the attention to her emotions, its also how shes animated. Her appearance is very clearly a dragon and not anthropomorphic or like a 'furry', but she's still animated with just as much visible emotion as everyone else. You can see pain and longing in her eyes during her dream and determination when she tried to fly to get help. The 'hug' between Zubeia and Avizandum and the ensuing conversation shows just as much love and care between them as basically any exchange between lovers in season 5. She has interactions with human characters in the same way as any human & human interactions might go. She is treated equally by the narractive, as a complex character, more then just a dragon. She expresses the same amount of emotion as sveryone else, without her design having to be made to be more human.
Its not quite the same for every other dragon, but there are definitely a few who are given a chance to have a bit more depth then just being a dragon. Like the red one from earlier seasons (i forgot if they had a name or not), they were shown to be intelligent, and that they could form connections past what just some beast could. Of course there is also Zym, who has grown both figuratively and literally, from being just a baby dragon that was more of a plot element then a true character (i said what i said, i know people may not agree, but to me he was just really bland when he was a baby, the only thing he had going for him was the fact that he was cute and that he was the dragon prince) to feeling closer to being like a real part of the main cast. There was even that water dragon who antagonized Claudia, they were painted as more of a beast then the previously mentioned dragons, but when they were captured you could clearly see the emotion in its eyes and expression, despite being unabke to talk.
Sorry about the whole ramble thing, I just love dragons and im super happy to see them getting more depth for once while still being completely beast-like instesd of them being made into some sort of humanoid or human-shifting species.
I can't believe the short conversation between Zubeia and her dead husband is much more touching and memorable than the whole pirate arc 😅
Yeah, the only worthwhile thing about the pirate arc was seeing Villads again. And Callum using Dark Magic again to be fair but we didn't even see him do it. Even Nyx was only there for fan service and brought absolutely nothing to the story.
For goodness sake, why didn't they give Domina Profundus a proper role in this season? The Archdragon of the ocean got a cameo in the episode named after her, then never showed up again in the season called Ocean!
Season 4 got a bad rep when it came out but it's better than Season 5. For one thing, it remembered that this is The Dragon Prince so Azymondias was given a real role instead of just tagging along like a pet in Season 5. Plus, Rex Igneous had 2 episodes dedicated to him so that we could actually get to know him while Domina Profundus was only given 2 lines at the very end of her episode.

Us viewers want to see more Arch Dragons and they gave us some cliché and forgettable pirate villain that acted as a disposable plot device. What a disappointment. Moreover, Zym barely play any significant role in this season either despite this series called "THE DRAGON PRINCE"
And why they invited a big voice actress like Jennifer Hale just for her to voice like 3 lines? What the hell were they thinking?

She ain’t because Mushroom Mage is healing her. The writers only got her infected so Callum and the others can get to the prison on their own. And once they got the prison, they decided to instantly heal her in the finale.
Don’t fear who ever the Mushroom Mage is he’s clearly a very powerful kind mage if he’s able too heal a dark magic corruption with little effort out of pure kindness

I had this theory that in the next season, Zubeia and Mukho, the Mushroom Mage (aka the Earthblood Archmage), would play a role in Janai reclaiming Lux Aurea from the corruption. Zubeia, along with Mukho, heads to find Team Zym, but would later find out that they are no longer at the same area. They head to Janai and Amaya in case if they’re there, but still haven’t seen them. This is where it’s likely possible that Corvus would remember that Zubeia got bit and infected which would lead them to realize that Mukho’s magic can heal the corruption. This revelation would surprise Janai as they can use Mukho’s magic to reclaim Luz Aurea. However, that’s where Karim and Sol Regem would arrive to both overthrow Janai and Zubeia. Zubeia, likely due to Mukho’s advice to her, apologizes to Team Zym to hold on for a little longer while she deals with Sol Regem, since she doesn't know where they are at. Janai would likely tell Amaya and Corvus, possibly being instantly healed by the mushroom mage, to take Mukho to Lux Aurea along with soldiers to help him heal the sun forge. Both share one last kiss before departure. During the fight, Sol Regem would likely throw some hard blows on Zubeia, whose powers were likely weakened due to the corruption, where he would reveal that after he’s done with her, he’ll kill Zym when finding him to make sure no one gets the title of King of Dragons. This angers Zubeia, where she would go all-Thor on Sol Regem and put him in his place by reminding him that she's still the queen of dragons. Meanwhile, at Lux Aurea, Amaya, Corvus, and Mukho would arrive at the top of the sunforge where he uses his magic to heal it. And once the battle has cleared, it would end with Pharos being possessed by Aaravos and would tell Zubeia that while Callum and the others managed to get his prison, they still failed as he was released.

Zubeia is so cute in first episode of S5
Enjoyed her in both Books 4-5 and looking forward to her in Books 6-7. I was relieved when she was getting healed by the Mushroom Mage, Mukho. I'm also looking forward to her fighting Sol Regem in Book 6 as Karim will use the Sun Seed to restore his eyes, which would lead him to take his place as King of Dragons. Considering how they lost their only hope of restoring Lux Aurea, Mukho's magic being able to heal the corrupted, and not knowing where Team Zym is, Zubeia will likely participate in the war for Lux Aurea.
Zubeia will be fine in the next season but I think she should tell Team Zym about her bite's infection and her healing and the stranger earthblood elf who help her because if she needs something there are people who care about her and her son, they're not alone
I really hope they don't kill Zubeia...

Zubeia was so cool in this season and I won't be surprised to see people ship her and Soren but it would be weird but I can see it happening and her talking to Avizandum was so heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time but I'm still lost on what is happening to Zubeia with the mushroom mage is he healing her or his he prolonging the effects it wasn't clear on what is going to happen to her but if they kill her off in either of the next two seasons I will be furious because she is too perfect for the show not to have and witch stare down is better Zubeia vs Rex igneous or Zubeia vs Domina Profundus what do you think and last thing I have a theory since we haven't seen the Archdragon of the moon or the Archdragon of the stars they may appear in season 6 or 7 because the crew is going to get the novablade and the I can't remember the crystal names but get the crystals to free Rayla's parents and Runnan from the coins and since both are very rare objects they will obviously be guarded be someone very powerful like an Archdragon or archmage so what do you think about that theory also I think Aaravos may be afraid to face Callum in the future seasons because he doesn't know Callum has learned the ocean arcanum and we know that Aaravos can wield all magic which is what makes him so powerful and I know he possessed Callum in season 4 but that was when Callum only knew one magic know he knows more spells so if Aaravos is set free he may fight Callum and what I meant by afraid is he doesn't know the true power of Callum but yeah I would like to hear what you think of this.

I still can't believe she voiced by princess celestia from mlp. I never watched mlp (aside from clips for the sake of voice comparison) and they sound so different. Maybe because they use different emotions while talking. One is sweet and joyful the other is authoritative yet gentle.
They're actually surprisingly similar characters. Whenever Celestia gets angry, she does sound more like Zubeia.

In my Head Canon, out in the Far West from Xadia, the Merchant Sailors of the Barria Empire have a deep Fear and Respect for the weather. Why? Because despite the fact that the Ships of the Realms of the Far West are made of Iron and Steel, many have still sunk thanks to violent storms. And any being able to Conjure up Huge Storms will certainly gain the respect of the Sailors.
I have based the Ships of the Barria Empire off the Real World Ships of the Great Lakes in North America. Heck, the Barrian Continent has 5 Huge lakes that are just as, if not more larger then the Sea of the Castout in Xadia. These Lakes are The Great North Lake, The Shadow Water Lake, The White Water Lake, Lake Wachanube, and The Great South Lake. As their are the 5 Real World Great Lakes, their are the 5 Great Barrian Lakes.
Note that all of the Barria Empire & Western Realms stuff is not Canon, and is my personal Head Canon. Most of the conflict in The Dragon Prince only happens in Xadia, and is thus isolated to that area. So Because of how Isolated Xadia is from the rest of the World the Dragon Prince takes place in, I like to imagine my Nations and ideas as Canon, but in the end, they are My Ideas.

I like how she looks like a dragon and yet a bit feminine. She seems slender and lacks a beard. I’m glad she was overly humanized. I don’t mind that if both sexes are drawn like that, but I hate when one gender looks more closer to a monster or animal and other gender looks more human looking.
